(Reader's P.O.V.)

I spent nearly all night reading the article over and over. I kept staring at that picture too, that strange hedgehog-looking creature... where have I seen him before? I slap the newspaper onto the table in front of my roommate Tails. "Look who's calling the kettle black. Weren't you supposed to sleep too, (Y/N)? You've got raccoon eyes." He then takes notice of the paper I just slammed in front of him. "That's Sonic! I recognize that form anywhere! Where did you find this?" "I found it on the floor while cleaning up your conspiracy theory room, aka the garage that used to be your workshop once upon a time. Thought it might be interesting to look into. I'll get a couple of backpacks set up with some stuff. You know, flashlights, cameras, a couple of snacks if we get hungry, the works. Don't worry Tails, we'll find him. You're my friend and I know this means a lot to you. I'll be back with the packs and we'll head out." "(Y/N), what about your breakfast?" "I'll take it to go." I set up the backpacks with all the gear we'll need for our investigation. A yellow backpack for Tails and a (F/C) one for me. I put in our favorite snacks in each bag and zip them tight. "Ready to go?" Tails gives a nod and I hand him his bag. "Let's go find Sonic!"

(Tails P.O.V.)

I'm nervous, scared, and anxious. I wasn't expecting a thunderstorm... I ended up clinging to the arm of my only support, the (C/T) named (Y/N). I still think I'm lucky to have met her. When my friends told me to give up on Sonic, she supported me. I've kinda started seeing her like I see Sonic, like an older sibling. It's safe to say I think of her less as a roommate and more of an older sister. She kinda acts like one too. Once again thunder rings out and I cling to her arm. A pat on the head and a gentle smile is what I get in return. The atmosphere of this place is unnerving. "I really hope Sonic is here. That photo... It looked like the time the planet split up and he transformed into that werehog thing. After defeating Dark Gaia he returned to normal though. What could've happened?" "You two should leave. You're not welcome here." I look up and there I see him, Sonic. I feel (Y/N) push me behind her defensively. "We're looking for his friend Sonic. He thought maybe you were him. Clearly, there's been a mistake and we'll take our leave once the storm lets up." Sonic... What happened to you?

(Beast P.O.V.)

I can't believe what I'm seeing. Tails and some (C/T) girl just wandered into the most haunted place in Mobius. It's good to see him but when I told them that they should leave, it's not because I didn't want them here. No, I asked them to leave because when the sun goes down, King Boom Boo and his ghosts like to torment unlucky travelers who wander in. Though I suppose making them leave during a thunderstorm is pretty bad, maybe I could hide them somewhere? "Follow me if you don't want a haunting. It'll be sunset soon. The ghosts come out then and they like to torment people who wander in here." "How come they don't torment you?" "They're too scared of the Beast, that's why."
