~Narrarator~

Back at the inn, the group was gathering so they would be ready by 11:00. When they went to the balcony, the announcer spoke into the speaker.

~Suiro~

"Welcome to the Grand Magic Games preliminary round! This year there are 113 teams, and only 8 will make it in. You can use magic as freely as you wish. So without further ado, let the sky labyrinth start!"

Without thinking we dashed up the stairs into the maze. "What's the plan?" I asked.

"We were supposed to have a plan?" Natsu questioned.

"It would have been smart to do that, and from what I remember, we should head east." Erza stated.

"Now's my time to shine! Open, gate of the compass, Pyxis!" Lucy said.

She looked at the bird thingy and declared where east was."East is that way." Lucy pointed.

"Actually, I already knew that. I brought a hand-held compass." Erza said smartly. Over in the corner, Lucy and her spirit were sulking.

We went east, until we came to a dead end. "Looks like we're stuck." Gray said.

"Looks like we'll just have to improvise." I said. I made water stones big enough to stand on. "Gray, freezed them so the others can walk on them." He nodded his head, and he froze them. "Ok guys, let's go!" We hopped across the ice stones to the other eastward platform.

Erza decided we should take notes on where we have been, so she did.

Continuing, we hear some arguing from possibly another guild.

"Hey, would you look at that? It's that lame guild." We turn to see a team.

"Great it's Smelly Ogre." Natsu said sarcastically.

"Stupid kid, we're Twilight Ogre. And we're gonna beat you up!" A member said. Before I knew it, Erza, Natsu, and Gray were battling the other team, and Twilight Ogre was knocked out instantly.

"Hey, look, they were making a map too." Erza stated. "Let's go beat up some more teams and get their maps."

"You won't have to. I got 10 already." I said. They were pretty easy. I don't know what those guys were thinking. They didn't stand a chance.

"Oh, that's great," Lucy said.

"Why don't you take these and put them together, Lucy?" Erza asked.

"Yay." Lucy said sarcastically. All of a sudden, the ground was shaking. The labyrinth was turning, I realized, and it was chaos, at least to the other teams. Then our team started falling to the ground, onto a bridge, with water underneath.

"Where are we now?" Gray asked.

"I would tell you, but my compass is messed up." Erza replied.

"See, this is why you need me. Open, gate of the compass, Pyxis!"

Lucy exclaimed once more. Pyxis showed the way, and we started running.

"Look, it's the end of the maze!" Natsu shouts. "Keep running!"

We sprint towards the end.

"And it looks like another team is coming in." Pumpkin man says.

"Did we come in first?" Natsu asked.

"Actually, more like last." He said.

"At least we're in." I said trying to cheer them up.
