~Jellal~

When I get to the battleground, there seemed to be a familiar presence. However I need to be focused on the battle at hand.

"Fight, begin!"

I had to imitate Mystogan's power, but with Jura as my enemy, it would be difficult. I had to try keep trying.

It was getting harder. It was getting to a point where I'd have to use my own magic.

I started with Meteor, and hit him, while also implanting "seven stars" around him. Next, I used Grand Chariot, Jura defends.

I gave up on taking it easy. It was time to use Heavenly Body Magic: Sema. I was casting it until an urgent feeling came over me. Before I knew it, my mouth was on fire and dying of laughter. On my arm, there was a pink bracelet. This had to be the work of Meldy. I knew I went overboard, but I guess this was for the greater good. I would have been caught otherwise.

I ended up losing. But I didn't feel so bad about it.

I went up the stairs, and noticed Suiro standing outside the viewing box. I whispered, "Meet me by the Sakura(cherry blossom) tree on the outskirts of the city."

"Just like we used to." She whispered back. I smiled under my mask, and secretly, even though I never looked back, I knew she was smiling, too.

~Suiro~

It was getting late into the night. I should start to go to the tree. Without being suspicious, that is.

When I neared the tree. I saw Mystogan, or should I say Jellal, without his mask on

"It's been awhile," I said.

"It really has been," he replied.

"Seems like you've made some new friends."

"I guess I did. This reminds me of the old days."

~Flashback~

There was a new kid in our village, and he was lonely. He was made fun of by everyone because of his birthmark. I felt so bad, so I went to talk to him one day.

Eventually, we became really good friends. I had to leave my friends because they didn't accept me being friends with him.

His name was Jellal...

We made it a habit to meet at 4 every afternoon at this huge Sakura tree, surrounded by a beautiful flower field. On a sunny day, we were doing our usual running around, making flower crowns for each other, and having a good time.

We were coming back to the village, when it was burning. In distance, I could make out faint voices. "Take the children hostage."

Jellal ordered, "Follow me."

I heard a cry coming from the village. "That's my little brother! We have to help him!" I screamed.

"But I love you too much to let you go. You're the only person who means something to me." He said. I was astonished that he cared so much about me.

But Natsu....

"We need to get to safety." Jellal told me.

"Okay." I gave up. I guess it was too late. I couldn't hear his cries anymore.

We ran to an abandoned house, with a closet to fit one person in.

"You hide here, I'll find somewhere else to go."

"No! Don't leave me, not now!" My voice was trembling.

"It will all okay," Jellal promised. He then hugged me, as if this was the last time I would see him.

Then something magical happened. He leaned to my cheek, and kissed me. "I'll see you when they are all gone." It was the last thing I heard from him before he left.

I stood in that closet for a second until I heard a voice saying, "Let go of me!" It was young and boy-like. I wanted to go back out, but I was too selfish and held back.

I sat there, soon, crying my heart out. The two people I held dearly to my heart are gone.

~Suiro~

"What actually happened to you afterward?" I asked.

"They found me as I was leaving the house, and I had to work for the tower of heaven."

"I know what happened after that."

"What did you do after? Did you learn magic?"

"Yeah, I exited the village a day or two later, after the incident, and taught myself magic and soon started traveling on my own. One day, I found an egg which, turned out to be an exceed, and named it Lilac. She's with the rest of the guild right now. That's the big picture." I answered.

"I still remember the warmth of your hug from that day..."

"Yeah..." Something was starting to feel weird, near my chest. There was a pumping sensation. I couldn't understand what it could be. Was I sick?

I was feeling drowsy too.

I almost fell, but Jellal caught me.

"Are you okay? You're face is turning red."

"Um-I'm fine. I think. I was getting a bit.." He leaned forward. My heart rate increased even more.

His lips touched mine before I realized it. I was surprised at first. But I accepted it. I kissed him back. His hands were running through my hair.

Then the kiss was separated. I hugged him. "I- I feel," I stopped and took a deep breath. "Ever since we were kids, I felt a certain way, but I could never figure it out."

"It's called love, and to be honest, I've felt the same with you too." Jellal said looking straight into my eyes. I felt protected next to him. I wish I could feel like this all the time.

We had to part our ways now. I went to the inn, hoping no one would have noticed me coming in.

I went into bed, with only one thing on my mind.

Jellal...
