Chapter 9 Food

Third person POV. 

Jade jiggled her keys into the door tiredly. She was finally home and she was worried all day for Katherine, she understands cysts, she understands how painful they get, how sick you can and how constipated you can be get with them.  

"Katherine I'm home!!!” she yells out as she steps into the house. Her key gets stuck, “For fuck sakes” she grumbles to herself as she stumbles over her feet slightly. 

After some struggle with her key she finally got it out and shut the door. She sighs and stands up straight. She drops her bag to the ground and shuffles away from the door as she runs her fingers through her semi messy hair. She trots to the kitchen looking for something to drink. Water, coffee, pop, etc. anything that would help her thirst for something. 

Jade didn't hear anything except the tv playing in the background. She raised her eyebrow as she realized that she didn't get a response back from Katherien. Instead of calling out towards the teen she stayed quiet as she grabbed a can of cold Pepsi and water bottle from the fridges. 

Jade was happy to finally have someone else in the house then just herself. She couldn’t have kids and for the longest time she was in a deep depression with the fact that she couldn't do what to her mind was what she was born to do. She had tried with her late soulmate and it never came positive for them and then he had died leaving her alone. She could never replace him, he was her world, the only person who fully got her. The fact that Katherine is here in the house, it feels better than morbid and dark, it's nice and happyish. For her at least. 

Jade leaves the kitchen and walks towards the dark living room.

Katherine had fallen asleep a couple of hours ago. Jade smiles as she sees her resting curled up in a ball on the couch, with Bob’s Burgers still playing in the background. Jade was hungry so she left her resting and looked around the kitchen for some easy to make for the both of them. She found nothing. 

“Man, how much did I give Dean?” she said to herself. She shuts the door and walks her way to the counter where she leaves the take-out menus and the home phone. She has been craving pizza for the longest time so she bought some, she bought a couple boxes so the both of them could have it for left-overs. But she didn't forget about Katherine's pain and maybe not being able to eat pizza so she ordered some potato soup, white bread and tea from her favorite take-out dinner. 

When everything was ordered she went back to the living room to quite get a setup for Kathereine. She had to be very quiet since Katherine is a light sleeper, she didn't want to wake her up yet. She’ll just wait until the food shows up to wake her up. 

For the pizza it only took fifteen minutes as the soup came ten minutes after it. Jade got everything on the big table before she left for the living room. “Katherine” she said crouching down beside her and placed a hand on her upper arm and started to slightly shake her awake. 

“I have gotten us some food for dinner, it's time to eat” she said. 

Katherine groans and rolls to her side slightly and opens her eyes a bit. “Hmm… what?” she groans out. She yawns and pushes up a bit, “When did you get home?” she asks through yawning. 

Jade helped her up so she was sitting back on the couch. “Probably thirty or so minutes ago. I got some take out for us” she starts with. She gets up and steps back and points to the dining room where everything is placed out nicely for the both of them, “I have gotten us three pepperoni pizzas. I have also gotten you some potato soup from my favourite dinner” she adds. 

Katherine yawns again and streachtes out, “you of course can have pizza i just know that you might not be able to eat that much when you get these” she said gesturing to her stomach area. 

Pizza got Katherine awake fully. Even with the pain she was having she was going to at least try and eat a piece of it hot. The soup sounded good to her too and she was looking forward to trying it out since she isn't a big fan of soup anyways. She only enjoys potato soup only. 

Katherine got up slowly, “How was work?” she asks as she follows her aunt into the dinning room. 

“It was well and tiring, but it's good. My boss wants me to come over to his manor next week,” Jade said, stretching out.

Katherine nods her head and yawns again, “he would like to meet you. I talked about you all the time to him, sorry” Jade said laughing. 

Katherine slightly laughs with her as she places a piece of pizza on her plate, “He also knows you're here since I couldn’t stop talking about that too. I think I got him mad… well whatever he knows that you are staying with me for awhile” she adds on. “What sauces do you like with your pizza? any pepper or salt for your soup?” she bluntly asks right after. 

“I like my pizza with ranch… dad doesn't like it much,” Katherine said, shrugging her shoulders. “Actually I like mine with ranch too and hot sauce” Jade said smiling towards Katherine. 

“Yeah hot sauce is good with it” Katherine pitched in. 

Small time skip. 

Katherine sat on the couch waiting for Jade to come back from getting changed. She didn't want to start eating without her aunt back, so she sat there patiently waiting and watching the episode of Bob’s Burgers. 

For a few minutes she felt happy but her mind wandered about her dad and uncle. She worried about their safety more than her own. Then there is Bobby and Garth who she also worries about. 

“Hey kid you could have started eating without me” Jade said walking into the room.

Katherien snaps her head towards her aunt, “Oh sorry” she said. 

Jade smiles, “It's ok” she said and takes her spot on the couch beside the teen. “How was your day here?” she asks. “What did you do? Have you thought more about what you want to do in your room?” she adds on. 

Katherine quickly swallows her piece of pizza, “To be honest I just rested all day. I did think a bit about the room but not much” she said honestly. “I know I would like a lot of shelves so I could put a lot of books and… figurines on it,” she adds. Katherine takes another small bite of her food. “Wait!” Katherine bluntly says, she covers her mouth quickly and chews her food faster and swallows, she looks over to her aunt, “When are we meeting your boss again?” she asks. 

“It will be on tuesday night” Jade said slightly giggling to herself. 

“Ok”

“I really hope this doesn't sound bad… but maybe wear a dress.. But it's totally up to you… he lives in a manor” Jade said slightly slowly. 

Katherine raises her eyebrow at her aunt, “He lives in a manor. What is he? A villain or something or a superhero?” she jokes out and Jade laughs. 

“I work for Bruce Wayne” 

“Holy shit… who's that?” Katherine asks. She takes another bite of her food and looks at her aunt as she waits for her aunt's answer. 

Jade chuckles again, “Bruce Wayne is-”

Time skip.

After Jade explained about who Bruce Wayne is and what he does for a living they were quiet until they finished eating. When they were done they sat there for a few minutes before they decided to go to bed. Both women cleaned up and put everything away before they went up stairs to get ready for bed. 

“So you didn't tell me how long you worked for him, how long have you worked for Bruce Wayne?” Katherein asks Jade. 

“Oh yeah… I have worked for Wayne Enterprises for twenty-two years now. I was twenty-two when I started working for him" Jade said. 

Katherine nods her head, “Wow that's impressive. I bet he is a good boss” she said leaning on her door frame and stared at her aunt. Jade smiles big, “He is, he is very nice. Oh i will also like to say that Bruce has three adopted kids and one blood related son” Jade started with. “You actually met two of them already. Dick and Jason are two out of three of his adopted kids as there is Tim and then there is Damian who is his blood related son” she adds on. 

Katherine was taken back a bit, so Dick and Jason are the sons of Bruce wayne. “You will probably meet the other Tuesday night” 

Time skip. 

Katherine was changed in her sleep wear and in bed. She was feeling better but the pain was still there. Lucky enough she had gotten a new heating pad and that was helping with the pain. 

She was feeling sad about her dad not being here with her. She didn't call him because she didn't know if he was awake or asleep, so she was stuck laying in the dark wishing her dad was there with her or her soulmate was here… she would love that very much.
