The time was almost 8:45 and the sisters had been waiting outside the back door for about half an hour.
"Coming early was such a good choice" Peggy said, laughing sarcastically.
"Peggy, we don't know why Mariah is late, there's no need to be sarcastic."
"Eliza, there is always a need to be sarcastic."
"Seriously Peggy, " Angelica joined the conversation, "I think Eliza has a point this time."

"Oh my god guys I'm so sorry I wasn't here on time I tried to get away, I mean I did, I really tried-"
"Mariah relax!" Eliza smiled
"Relax? I'm relaxed-"

"Is everything sorted on stage?" Angelica asked, stepping forward.
"Oh yeah sure, they're all waiting for you! "
"Right them girls, are we ready to show them what we're made of?" Angelica turned to her sisters.
"Yeah!" Eliza laughed, punching the air at the exact time Peggy called out,
"No!" The other two looked at her, their faces a mixture of anxiety and confusement.

"I'm only kidding guys, let's rock and roll!"

The spot lights were blinding in stage and Eliza was almost tempted to move out the way completely.
They are all counting on me to succeed. She told herself. Just breathe.

"Yo we are the Sisters and we would like to thank you all for coming and hope you enjoy our show!" Angelica yelled into the microphone.
"Our first song is called Schuyler Sisters. "
She turned away from the microphone and whispered "Okay girls, just as we planned."
Peggy raised her drum sticks and burst straight into the drum fill and then found her rhythm. She leant forward into her mike and started the song. They had been lucky enough to collaborate with a rapper called Aaron Burr on this song but he was unavailable for the performance so Peggy had taken over his part.

When they finally reached the end, the applause was deafening. Eliza, Angelica and Peggy could not believe they had made it through the night honestly. As they were packing up, Mariah came running up to them.

A/N I've had most of this chapter done for a while now 'cos I planned to write more but decided to cut it shorter because I have a great idea for the next chapter! Anyway, I've been working on some alternate covers because I've found a load of modern au fanart! Again, I don't know any of the artists but if you do, please tell me in the comments

Anyway, I am proud of the current cover that I designed but I want to know if anyone prefers any of the others so please comment on the picture which is your favourite!

Also, yes, every chapter will have a video that you can ignore, play at the time it is mentioned or just play throughout the whole chapter. I'm doing my best to find videos that fit with the story but of course, they're not all going to be rock and I probably won't find any that perfectly match what I describe. I don't have a song ready for the next chapter but chapter 6 is going to be awesome XD!

I've been thinking about how to fit later events in and I might have to mess around with the timeline quite a bit. A lot of Act two characters will be here early and I'm thinking of having Washington leave before the affair. And I'm gonna work in that time when Angelica apparently slapped Jefferson somewhere too as well as stuff like her helping get Laf out of prison during the French Revolution and other random facts like that which didn't make it into the musical.
