In distant lands, worlds apart from ours
Lies a kingdom, torn apart from wars

In it's shadows the villain awaits
For the one he most hates
The hero burst in soon enough
"Welcome, was your journey tough?"

"Worth it all if I can hack
Your head right off your neck"
"Do you really think you can take me on?"
"I'll just keep trying till your gone"

The hero drew his sword
The shadows grew around their king
The dead bird started to sing
The battle was hard and cruel
But the hero was determined to end the villains rule

Broken and bloody the villain screamed
"Must you struggle? Haven't you gleaned?
To you, They'll only harm and maim
Break you and bind you to a chain
All my intentions, you misunderstand
I was you, please understand"

"Misunderstand what? The blood that stains your hand?
The destruction you raze upon our land?
No, I have seen your deed and your word
Now you must face my sword
They can hate me for all I care
As long as you die today in this lair"

And soon enough the hero had won
The victory he had to his mother sworn
And yet he didn't claim the death he sought
But instead he spoke a thought

"Why do you wish for me to kill you?
Don't deny, I know it's true"
"I always knew you were delusional, but that's too much, even for you"
"Then why is it that you haven't touched
The poisonous dagger that you so loved"

"Ah, it's a pity I lost it, I would have loved to turn you blue
Really? Then what do you have under the sole of your shoe?"
A flick of the sword, and the dagger fell away
And the villains resolve finally gave way

"Why do you care, just do your job
Kill me and save the mob"
"I should, but i don't want be another pawn for you to manipulate
And my curiosity I must sate"
The villain scowled, "Why can't you, for a single day
Play as you are supposed to play?"

The hero smirked, "what can I say
I just love to turn people's plans into hay"
"Even if you are too dumb to rhyme
I am not someone you should mime"
"Oh shut it and start speaking
I'm not keeping you alive for sneering"
The villain did relent
And so the tale commenced
