"It's freezing outside! Even the sand is cold" I say to Jasper as a gush of wind hits us.

" Well I'm so sorry that I didn't have enough money to buy you a shirt and jacket Chlo bear," Jasper says sarcastically then sticks his tongue out at me.

It was dark outside but the way that the moonlight was hitting Jasper, it somehow made him look even hotter than he did before, even though you could see his facial features that well.....wait....let's forget I just said that okay?

I look around, the moon was only a crescent but bright tonight, and the smell of the salt in the ocean and sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks nearby seems peaceful. I take a deep breath, inhaling the salty taste and closing my eyes. It's still cold outside.

Jasper grabs a hold of my wrist ruining the nighttime peace, " C'mon you said that we could make a sandcastle," he tells me and jolts me closer to the water.

" This isn't working." Jasper poutes, running a hand through his dark blonde hair.

We were sitting down by the water. Every once in awhile the water would come up and lightly touch our skin then go back with the other waves, but none of our clothes had gotten wet yet. The sandcastle that we were trying to build just kept getting washed away by the ocean, and when I tried to tell Jasper that we could just move away from the shore he didn't budge. He said that the spot we're in right now is the perfect spot, and we just need a stable castle.

A shiver runs down my spine even though it wasn't that cold now since my hands, arms, and feet have turned numb. Jasper didn't seem affected by the cold at all even though he only had on sweatpants and a tank top. Because of my fingers turning numb though, it was harder to make the sandcastle since they were still shaking. I should've brought a jacket.

" When are we going back inside?" I groan laying down in the sand next to the sad-looking sandcastle, not giving a damn if I was getting sand in my hair. Jasper sighs and lays next to me.

" I give up," Jasper says resting his hands on his stomach. Another shiver goes through me when the waves wash against our feet.

My eyes drift to the night sky, you can't really see that many stars around here because of the light pollution, but that didn't keep me from staring in awe at the mysterious lights in the sky. I've always been afraid of outer space. Mostly because there are so many things that we don't know about it, and it's such a dangerous place for us humans. How do people want to go up there?

" I still don't understand why people would want to go up there," I say to Jasper, still looking up at the stars.

Jasper yawns then shrugs, " They're curious. They want to fulfill their dream of discovering what is out there, no matter the cost. I admire those kinds of people, being brave enough to do whatever they want."

" I guess if you put it like that...."

Jasper turned his head to look at me, " What's your dream Chlo?" he asks me, taking me by surprise.

Jasper turns back to the stars as I try to think of what my dream was.

" I want to work at the bakery and try to maintain my grandpa's legacy."

" Bullshit," Jasper tells me taking me aback once again.

" What do you mean bullshit?" I ask.

" I asked what your dream was not what you are expected to do."

I sigh. Think Chloe, think. I think but that just leads me into trying to thing and I end up not thinking about what I'm supposed to.

" I.....dodon't know." I finally say.

" Huh." Is all Jasper says?

A couple of minutes go by and I can't help but feel awkward. I turn to Jasper. He looked fine. No not like, fine fine, he just seemed calm. At peace.

His eyes were closed and his breathing had slowed. Is he asleep or is this boy dying?

I slowly inch forward trying to see if this guy had just fallen asleep on me. He didn't flinch or anything, but how could he fall asleep so fast-

" You're not planning on molesting me are you Chlo?" Jasper says.

" Ahh!" I yelp and roll to the right, away from Jasper.

" Oh, so now that I'm awake you roll away from me?" He says sitting up.

" Yes. Goodbye," I tell him with one last glare and then roll further away.

" Hey stop rolling away!"

" No!" I say with sand spilling into my mouth.

I stop for a second to catch my breath and to spit the sand out of my mouth. Jasper speed walks over to me and kneels down. 

" You done yet?" He asks.

" Go to hell Jasper."

" Ouch, that hurts. After everything I've done for you tonight, you're still a pain in the ass."

" And you're still a child in a man's body."

" Is that supposed to be an insult?"

" Shut up."

Jasper laughs and pokes my side which makes me squirm.

" I swear, sometimes I think you're bipolar," Jasper tells me and I roll over and slap him.

" I'm not bipolar."

" Have you ever been tested or diagnosed?"

" No."

" Then how do you know you're not bipolar?"

I sit up. I will admit I do have weird mood swings but I am not by any means bipolar.

" You're a bully."

" What's with all this name-calling? What happened to talking about our dreams?"

" You fell asleep....or I thought you had."

" Oh right....well now is your time to shine Chloe. Talk. I'll listen."

" I find that hard to believe since last time you totally shut off your hearing and closed your eyes."

" I was listening. "

" You said 'huh'. Nobody says huh unless-" jasper puts his hands over my mouth.

" Just listen for a second." He tells me with his hands still over my mouth.

I tense up. Is someone watching us?

" Silence," Jasper says and I bite his thumb.

" Ow!!" He shouts, " I was just making a point!"

" You were being an ass!"

I smile and so does Jasper. This idiot is one of the weirdest people I have ever met and yet here I am still hanging out with him. What would Ah Rey think about this? Hopefully, she doesn't think the worst.

" I'm tired and cold. Can we go back please?" I ask.

" Wimp," Jasper says with a slight laugh but stands up, reaching out a hand to help me.

I stick my tongue out at him and take his hand.

" So I have a question..."
