If Cinderellas shoe fit, why did it fall off in the first place?

After whatever happened at the cafe Neel drove us home and just held me. He iced my burns, which thankfully didn't leave any marks, for me and sat next to me on a single seater sofa where we eventually dozed off.
"Perfect" I heard someone say before I heard a click stirring me in my sleep. I had always been a light sleeper, I didn't really have a choice. I always needed to be prepared in case something happened in the middle of the night when I lived with Tobias and my step-father.
My eyes fluttered open as I tried to stretch but I was semi-restricted. I looked at my position and I saw that I was resting on the sofa arm, while Neel held onto my waist with a blanket covering the both of us.
"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you up" I jumped at the voice again falling off the sofa taking Neel with me who let out a loud groan at the impact. Julian and Julius who stood at the other end of the room burst out laughing.
"I have that all recorded" Julian wheezed showing his phone to Julius.
"I swear to God, you better delete that" Neel jumped up from the floor running after Julian who had run off. Julius laughing died down as he offered me his hand which I gladly took.
"You're really good for him" I looked at Julius confused.
"Neel, I mean. I haven't seen him like this in ages" he continued. I picked up the blanket on the floor wrapping it around myself settling back.
"What do you mean? Like what?"
"Contented?" Julius sent me a small smile with a slight shrug. "I don't know, It's just that...keep in mind that he'll never admit it, but Neel's always been searching for his own happiness." he continued.
"I think he found it" Julius looked me straight in the eyes when he said this. Just then Neel walked back in with a proud smirk laying across his lips with a sulking Julian who followed behind.
"He deleted it. The video and the picture" Julian moaned.
"Yeah, but I sent it to my phone before I did. Only I get to keep them" Neel crossed his arms sitting across me.
"Wait. What picture?" I asked looking between the trio.
"They took a picture of us asleep" Neel answered taking out his phone and showing me the picture. Thankfully, my face was completely hidden in my arm but Neels face you could see clearly. Something about the picture made me feel warm inside.
"What time is it?" I asked moving to get up.
"Just past 6, why?" Julian answered laying down on the couch.
"Don't you want food? Wait, why does it seem like I'm always cooking in this house?" I asked resting my hands on my hips.
"Because you always are, which shouldn't be the case." Neel said scrunching his eyebrows.
"I'll cook today." Neel said standing up rolling up his sleeves. "Alone" he added quickly when he saw me open my mouth.
"Actually, you two morons can help me" Neel said pointing at Julian and Julius who groaned in response but nonetheless followed him to the kitchen. While they got busy I sat down and reflected on what had happened today. They weren't going to stop and I knew that; there was no point of denying it. But how long would I hide behind Neel?
No matter how much everything's changed. I am more me than I've ever been.
Neel
Olivia. She's got the eyes of innocence. The face of an angel. A personality of a dream and a smile that hides more pain than what you can imagine.
She's the kind of beauty that gently falls on your lips like snowflakes softly falling to the ground, silent, subtle, fragile to touch, but beautiful nonetheless. She's made of winter, thunderstorm and scars, yet she possesses touch for the broken souls. When I first met her, I never really noticed her because her beauty whispered ever so subtly to my soul, capturing my heart and soul first before entrancing my eyes.
I'm being creepy, aren't I? I can't seem to help it with her. I never meant to fall for her...at least not this fast. She's got the smile of innocence that's enough to hold me for the rest of my life;and fuck the day she smiled, I knew I was in for trouble.
Everyone's always scared of me. Even she was. Everyone think's I'm cold hearted. I'm not. I've just been pushed to my limit far too many times and it's ideal for me at this point not to give a shit about anything anymore. And then Olivia came along and broke every rule I wrote for myself. I just wanted to spoil her...spoil her with all the happiness she was deprived of.
"Stop staring at her" Julian slapped me across the back of my head. I turned around glaring at him moving away from the kitchen door from where I was peeking at Olivia. She seemed so lost sitting there on her own. What she doesn't realise is that to find herself again she has to declutter. Throw away all the garbage in her life. She's there...just hidden under years of emotional hoarding.
"Fuck off" I walked back to the stove stirring the pasta that was on the gas.
"Just tell her how you feel" Julian said taking a sip of his orange juice. It wasn't that easy.
"How do you expect me to tell her how I feel, when I don't even know what I'm feeling" Every word angered me. I hated not being in control of what I felt. The truth is I like her. A lot. She makes me happy. Something I haven't been in a long long time and I'm man enough to admit it.
Julian and Julius didn't say anything afterthat and just sat in silence while I finished cooking. Once done I switched off the gas instructing the twins to set the table while I called Olivia. I walked out of the kitchen and into the living room but it was empty.
Olivia
I had been sitting in the living room for the past twenty minutes lost in my own thoughts when I felt a pain in my abdomen.
Not now. Please not now. Life is such a bitch.
I quickly got up and ran straight to my room into the bathroom. And of-course mother nature had decided to pay her visit. I sighed walking over to the cabinet to retrieve a pad but nearly cried when I saw the empty packet.
How did I forget to re-stock. This was not happening.
"Olivia" I heard Neel yell from downstairs. This was going to be so humiliating. A few minutes later I heard the door to my room open.
"Olivia, are you in there?" Neel asked sounding closer to the bathroom.
"Erm, yeah." I winced at how my voice shook.
"You okay?" What was I supposed to say?
"Not really"
"What, why? Open the door" Neel banged on the door.
"No!" I answered way too quickly.
"I mean. I just need a favour" I sat on the toilet seat with my face in my hands.
"Anything" The sincerity in his voice squeezed my heart.
"Well, erm...the thing is...erm...it's ju-"
"Olivia. Just tell me what the problem is"
"You know how every month a girl goes through something?" I cringed at my words.
"Yeah? But what's the problem?" Neel asked slowly.
"I've kinda ran out of, you know, supplies." I looked into the mirror I realised how red I was.
"That's it? Olivia, you could have just asked." Neel sighed from outside the door.
"It's embarrassing" I mumbled more so myself than him.
"How is it embarrassing? It's normal. Hang on, I'll run down to the store. Be back in ten" True to his words Neel returned in ten minutes with a slight knock on the door. Opening the door slightly I saw Neel no where in sight and only the back on the floor. Rummaging through it I saw he had bought various brands which thankfully included mine.
Going downstairs was the hardest part. I knew I was still red as a tomato from the encounter. Did he tell Julian and Julius too? God, could this get any worse? Taking a deep breathe, I plucked up all the courage I had and walked through the kitchen doors.
"Finally. The food was getting cold" Julian cheered finally digging into his food and as well as Julius. I didn't dare make eye-contact with Neel as I sat down and readied my plate.
"Oh and Neel ran down to the store to buy us a few snacks" Julius informed me pointing to a back full of things from ice-cream to chocolates.
"They're not for us. They're for her" Neel corrected him taking a bite of his pasta, which let me add was delicious.
"What? Why does she get special treatment?" Julius moaned eyeing the bag. As a reply Neel mumbled something I couldn't catch.
"Thank you" I said meaning it with all my heart.
"It's okay" Neel sent me a smile.
I wasn't the special one. Every other person is this room was special in their own way. And the best feeling in the world is looking at those special people and seeing them already smiling at you.

Another filler chapter but I think Neels perspective was necessary. Also my Prom is in a week and I'm so so excited. Yet, I'm beyond stressed. Has anyone ever told you how hard it is to organise Prom all alone? For real, there was around 8 of us that were supposed to do organise it yet everyone's lazy assess couldn't be asked so I had to do it all on my own. I still have a few final touches that need to be made but Gosh I want this to be perfect so there's a lot of pressure. But on the bright side, I love my dress.
