Yuhai sat on the hospital chair as she looked through the reports. A deep frown was covering her face as she was looking at the reports.

Her hands trembled, as she intensely looked at the reports, a few minutes later she walked out of the hospital. And sat on the bench outside she took out her phone and scrolled through the contacts, then her eyes landed on a contact number she hasn't called for years but today she had to.

So she dialed a number it rang for sometime before the other person answered it was a woman, who spoke with her cold voice, "To what I owe this pleasure? is the world going to end?"

Yuhai smiled, "It is...my world at least, how are you elder sister...Yanli?"

Yanli who was sitting on her chair leaned back and stared at the ceiling, "It's been a while Yuhai...so what do you want?"

"I...I...have breast cancer sister..."

Yanli sat straight on her desk and her eyes wide as she heard Yuhai, "Where are you right now?" she asked as she got up and took her purse, while Yuhai told her that she was sitting outside the hospital.

A few minutes later Yanli reached the place where Yuhai told her she was, Yanli spotted her and sat down beside her on the bench.

It has been twenty years, since the last time they saw each other, Yuhai smiled at her gently while Yanli who had no idea how to smile just snatched the reports from her hand and read them.

"Breast cancer...you ficking fool! why didn't get checked before?" she asked and Yuhai replied.

"Well, for your information, breast cancer has no early symptoms."

Yanli sighed and sat back, "Then what are you waiting for get your surgery done, or are you waiting to ide, and if you had to die then you should have died alone."

Despite Yanli's anger Yuahi just looked at her with a smile, and gentle eyes, Yanli it still the same, "Well  I just wanted to meet you, you know...in case I...couldn't make it...and Simon also needs to know about his family tree...so..."

Yanli sighed "Simon...your son... he must be the same age as Zhan..."

Suddenly Yuhai's smile vanished, "Do you know that a few days ago this fiend Zhan..visited my home and he is friends with 'my' son?"

Yanli didn't say anything even after so many years Yuhai's hate was the same as before, as she looked at Yanli, "Why...Yanli...what was the need to take that child in? You could have given him up for adoption, for foster care, why did you raise him?"

Yanli didn't answer she just clenched her fist, while Yuhai spoke, "He was the reason I had left the home and now he became friends with my son, I wanted to keep myself and my son away from...but...why Yanli why..."

Yanli didn't answer, honestly, she had no idea why she saved Zhan, Zhan's father had done unimaginable crimes, no he had done sins...things which can't be said and can't be forgotten...but still opened the old wounds when remembered.

"Twenty years later we have met," Yanli spoke, "And all you have to talk is about that child?"

Yuhai smirked, "Isn't he the reason?... Yanli the moment his mother was pregnant, we all knew how much of a cursed being he was...maybe it wasn't his fault but he had his father's blood his genes...that child was better of dead...why bring him in the world where no one would love him..."

Yanli stood up, "It is true, that I hate that child, but he has never harmed you or Simon so stop blaming him."

"I am going to die most probably and after me what is he comes after Simon who had no clue about this?"

"Have you told your child who killed his father?"

"No, but I am sure if I did, he would never forgive Zhan either.

Yanli sighed and stood up, "Yuhai I will arrange the best doctors for you...prepare yourself, and tell your son as well...and as for that child he is just a pet for me." After that Yanli looked at her, "I will give you a lift home...come with me..."

Yuhai sighed and did as she was told. And sat beside Yanli in the car, "How have you been...all these years?"

Yuhai asked and Yanli replied, "I was breathing and alive."

"I see...so do you still throw tantrums and skip meals? and still addicted to chocolates?" she asked.

Yanli rolled her eyes, "And you? still a caffeine addict huh?"

And so the two talked about the past while Yuhai was smiling and enjoying Yanli had a calm and gentle expression that matched Yuhai's.

"Yuhai..." Yanli called her once the car stopped, "In case you have forgotten, I am reminding you, you have always welcomed in the lotus mansion...you and your son both."

Yuhai smiled and hugged her out of nowhere at first she was startled after all it has been years since she had last hugged anyone, but she slowly hugged her back, "I am always ready to come back but you also know that as long as that child is there I can't come back."

Yuhai broke the hug and Yanli didn't say anything further to her...

She just quietly watched Yuhai leave.

After a long day, Yanli finally came back home, and the first thing she saw was Zhan standing near the stairs with Wen Qing they were talking about something and they had not noticed Her presence yet.

"So you didn't go to college today?" Wen Qing asked and Zhan nodded,

"I guess I will be needing notes..."

Yanli who hear this nearly yelled, "What?!" She said and both Zhan and Wen Qing looked at her with wide eyes and terror.

"A...Aunt its..."Weng Qing tried to speak but before she could even complete Yanli moved forwards and slapped Zhan tightly.

Wen Qing flinched and covered her face, "Zha..."

Zhan who was slapped had a blank face...looked down and was slapped one more time by Yanli, "Here I am paying your fees, I am feeding you raising you and you are wasting my efforts? my money? HAVE YOU GONE MAD?! A few days ago you came home with a bruise and today you didn't go to college?"

Yanli was so angry that she was breathing heavily, "Who were you with? huh? where were you? are you like those typical people now partying and drinking alcohol, or perhaps even drugs?"

Zhan shook his head, while Wen Qing clenched her fist and looked down, it has always been like this, always, "Aunt..." Zhan said slowly, "I am sorry. It's not what you think I just..."

"YOU JUST WHAT?!" She yelled, "Are you going to lie to me again? who taught you lying? should I break your bones now?"

Wen Qing was seriously scared becuase she knew that Yanli could do what she said, she can break Zhan's bones.

"I am asking you last time where were you?" Yanli asked and Zhan trembled.

"I was with a friend," Zhan said and clenched his fist he felt extremely guilty for lying,

Yanli crossed her hands in front of her chest and spoke, "And who is this friend?"

"His name is Simon," Zhan said and internally said cursed himself his heart was drowning with guilt,  While Yanli's expression changed a little when she heard the name Simon, is it perhaps Yuhai's son Simon?

She still glared at him, "Still this is not a nice a nice excuse...I'll deal with you later and Zhan if I caught you lying to me or acting smart with me one more time, then you see these stairs?" she said and Zhan nodded

"I will throw you down from these stairs," she said and walked away.

While Wen Qing touched Zhan's red cheeks, while he just smiled gently to reassure her.

It has always been like this in his childhood Yanli would often beat him black and blue, while Ava would try to stop her, and Wen Qing would watch from a distance.

She thought that Zhan was a bad kid but when she would hear Zhan's screaming and crying and beg for mercy, it would make her shiver, and for days she would be able to sleep, then one day she saw Zhan getting brutally beaten by Yanli and this time she couldn't take it so she ran in front of Zhan and took hits for him and she was only eight that time while Zhan was also eight years old.

Yanli stopped when this happened she had gone out of control and thankfully becuase of Wen Qing she came back to her senses and after she was gone Wen Qing turned to the bruised Zhan and hugged her tightly while crying.

While Zhan told her that if she was so hurt then why did she come in front of her but she only hugged him and cried harder and after that day the two became best of friends like brother and sister.

Over the years Wen Qing has always wished that she could send Zhan somewhere far from here, but she can't.
