The next morning Simon walked into his living room, "Mom I am going to the co..." he stopped in the mid-sentence when he saw his mother Yuhai sitting on the chair with a frown on her face she had placed her hand on her chest.

"Mom!" he said and walked to her and sat down in front of her, "Mom are you okay? is everything alright do you feel pain?" he asked anxiously while Yuhai looked at him and smiled gently,

"I am fine Simon, it's just..."

"Whatever it is, it is not normal I might not be a medical student but even I can tell that chest pain does not happen without any reason...maybe there is an underlying disease, and what if it gets worse? we should get checked mom like right now..."

Yuhai smiled actually she had been experiencing this pain for the past few days, but today she also felt that he much get checked if something happened to her then who will be there or Simon.

Just the thought that Simon will be left alone made her realize that it's not good to play with her health so she agreed to go and get checked Simon wanted her to get checked immediately so that day he skipped college and went with his mother.

That day when Zhan wake up he felt a splitting pain in his head but he still got ready on time and walked out of his room, today he didn't see Yanli in the dining room, this has happened often, often when she is too tired to its holiday she would skip breakfast so Zhan didn't think much about this and walked out.

He did meet Wen Qing and the two greeted each other, "A-Qing thanks a lot for helping me yesterday."

"No problem, now hurry up ad left. bye."

"Bye," Zhan said and left quickly, when he reached college he went straight to his class, the day passed quietly peacefully but thought that it was that Simon was not there.

So after his classes during lunchtime, he called Simon, "Hello."

"Simon...Um... where are you? you were not in the classes today?" Zhan asked as he sat down on his eat, all alone, he saw but Yibo didn't look at him he was busy with his friends.

"Zhan I have to the hospital to get my mom checked she was having chest pain since morning that's why."

Zhan's face became serious as well, "So is she okay? everything is ...like...what's the scenario?"

"The reports will come two days later, they have taken a sample and everything...we'll know soon."

"I see, then can I come  to your house tonight?"

"Sure...I will be needing notes as well..."

"No problem I will bring them," Zhan said and the call was disconnected, he then glanced at Yibo again and even Yibo looked at him, Zhan smiled slightly but Yibo just looked at him another way he ignored Zhan.

Zhan felt a little hurt after being ignored but then again he was used to being ignored so he didn't mind much, since Simon wasn't here there was no use to sit in the canteen all alone.

Zhan never likes to eat alone. But it had always been the same, he has always been alone.

Zhan just walked to his next class, since it was still lunchtime he was early he sat there alone but one or two people were still there.

While Yibo had watched him leave he didn't care much...but he was curious as to why Simon wasn't in the college.

The college was over pretty soon and once he reached back home, he felt that the house was eerily quiet, Yanli was not at home, Zhan was used to this quietness, so he didn't care much and walked to his room.

In the evening, Zhan got ready to go to Simon's house, "Zhan...where are you going?" Ava asked

"Aunt I am going to my friend's house."

"May I know his name?"

"Um...Simon Gong."

Ava nodded, "Alright come back before dinner."

"Sure" with that he left he took out his car and went to Simon's house who welcomed him with a smile, "Welcome...please make yourself at home."

He said and closed the door behind him, "Mom...Zhan is here."

Yuhai also came to greet him, "How are you Ms. Gong I heard you had to go to the hospital today?"

"I am fine honey, but you look more handsome today," Yuhai said for some unknown reason Zhan thought that Yuhai was like Yanli her eyes were just like Yanli's, but more gentle and calm.

Zhan just smiled, "Thanks aunt...um...here are your notes Simon." he said and gave the notes to Simon who thanked him.

"Zhan. come let's sit in the living room." Simon said and took ZHan to the living room.

Yuhai bought some snacks for him and sat in front of them, "Try these cookies Zhan, and tell me how are they?"

"Sure, thank you," he said and ate the cookies, "They are amazing."

"Aw.. you are so sweet, so may  I ask how many members are there in your family?" She asked while Simon sat beside him eating the cookies.

"Um...My aunt is the one who raised me...I don't have parents and relatives so she is my only family."

Yuhai nodded, and smiled "I see...what is the name of your aunt?"

"Yanli, Xiao Yanli," Zhan said and as soon as Yuhai heard this name her body became stiff, and her smile dimmed,

"Yanli? Zhan...what does she do?" Yuhai asked.

"My aunt is the CEO of Xiao groups."

Yuhai's face paled and her eyes slightly widened, her hands trembled slightly.

"Mom are you okay?" Simon asked while Yuhai nodded, "I will be back"

She then walked to the kitchen, her hands had gone cold, this kid was Zhan, Xiao Zhan and if Yanli is his aunt then this meant that this kid was the child of that man...

Painful flashbacks evaded Yuhai's mind, the bloody flashbacks of the dead body of her lover, the pain she went through the cruel laughter of that man, Yuhai shivered her heart was beating so fast that she thought that it might come out.

The child, of that man who was in her house, was the friend of her son, no, no it can't be Yuhai will not allow that.

When Yuhai didn't come back after some time, Zhan said, "Hey is your mom okay? did she get angry with something I said." he was genuinely worried.

For Some reason, he didn't want Yuhai to get angry maybe becuase he saw Yanli in her.

Simon smiled, "Nah she must be busy with dinner."

"But you should go and check."

"Alright." Simon walked to the kitchen and his mother was there staring in space, "Mom."

He shook her a little and she came back to her senses, "Simon...has he left?"

"Who...Zhan?" Simon said, "No he is still there."

Yuhai took a deep breath and walked to the living room where she saw Zhan eating the cookies, "Zhan..." she said and her voice was rather cold,

For a moment Zhan thought that it was Yanli who was talking so he stood up, "Yes aunt..." he then looked at Simon who was confused as well.

Yuhai spoke, "Is late and it's dinner I suppose you should go home now."

Zhan looked at Simon who was looking at his mom, he was surprised at this change of behavior, ZHan then looked down and nodded, "I see, well then good night."

Yuhai didn't say anything while Simon walked him to the door, "Bye, and good night...I'll see you in college"

Zhan nodded and let but he didn't understand what did he do now.

"Mom, what was that why were you so rude to him?" Simon asked.

While Yuhai glared at him in return, "Simon...stay away from him...he is not worthy to be your friend."

Simon's eyes widened, "What are you talking about mom, what's wrong with you?!"

Yuhai was desperate she held Simon's shoulders and shook him, "Simon I am saying this for your good, please just stay away from him."

"Mom, if you can give me a valid reason then I promise to maintain my distance from him."

"Can't you do such a simple thing for your mom?"

"I can do anything for you but at least I am supposed to know right?"

Yuhai became quiet she couldn't say anything, in the end, she walked back to her room leaving Simon alone in the living room.
