Chapter Thirteen
Honk!! Honk!!
I ran straight over to my bedroom window feeling annoyed and quite frustrated at Dylan's tendency to keep honking his car horn at while I try to get dress for I and his date tonight.
I lift up my window and yell, "Look, you punk rocker, you either stop honking or I'm going to call 911!!"
Dylan sat in the front seat of his shiny flaming red and white sports car. The light illuminating from the lamp post shines on him and I can see him smiling and laughing uncontrollably.
I shut my window and walk over to my closet. I undress out of my tight blue jeans, a black crop, and my red Converse and trade them in for a a red sparkly short dress, a black chocker, and a pair of black TOMs.
I mentally vomit at my choice of "date night" wear because as a little girl and still till this day, I have always hated wearing dresses, skirts, and anything frilly, bright, and pink. Yuck. I was a "Vans, blues jeans, and a chocker" type of girl.
I flat iron my hair straight and curled the ends perfectly. After I applied on some mascara and red lipstick, I took a look in my large vanity mirror. I took a deep breathe and closed my eyes. Jess, go out and have some fun with Dylan, even though you think he is a serial killer, I told myself.
I opened my eyes and ran over to my bedroom, but, fell to the floor and I began to rub my aching nose and face muscles. "Shit. I should have opened it." I mumbled. But, as I get up and run out of the door I end up leaving my iPhone on my bed.
......
"So, where are we going?" I asked. "To the movie theater." He replies, as he keeps his eyes on the empty streets of Pullman. It's a long drive through the bright small city of Pullman and I roll down the windows to let in some of the freezing cold air into his hot car.
"What are we going to watch?" I question, as I waved my hand out of his car window. "I Know What You Did Last Summer." Dylan answers. "It's a scary movie, isn't it?" I nervously asked him. He nods and smiles brightly.
"Jess, What's wrong?"
"I hate scary movies. I completely terrified of them."
"Oh, wow."
"What do you mean oh wow?"
"I mean, you have this tough girl personality, but, really your a big softie."
"Kinda like how your this punk rocker but, your really a good guy."
We both laughed a little bit. "Hey, do you want to listen to some music?" Dylan asked me. "Sure." I say, smiling.
As we drove slow through the shops and buildings, we hummed to a Halsey song.
.........
"Can I get popcorn? No wait, I want a Pepsi soda!!" I exclaimed, sounding like a child in a candy store than a regular 16-year old girl. I and Dylan were deciding on what to snack on at The Pullman Snack Bar before we go and watch I Know What You Did Last Summer.
"Jess, calm down, babes." He smirked.
The way he said "babes" made my heart sink in and my knees weak. But, deep down inside there was a gut feeling that made me think of Kevin.
"We will have two Pepsi sodas and a big bag of popcorn." Dylan says to the man behind the counter. He nods and hands me a Pepsi soda and Dylan one and the bag of popcorn.
After Dylan pays for our food, we head into the movie theatre. Inside the movie theater, is completely dark, quiet, and strikingly scary. Couples and teenagers fill the seats together as they watch the opening credits of the cult classic 90s scary movie with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.
I and Dylan take our seats in the middle and we watch the movie begin. "If you get scared you can always get close and hold onto me." He whispers darkly. "I won't get scared, trust me." I whispered back with a smirk.
......
Five minutes into the movie, I'm holding tight onto Dylan's muscular yet cold body. My heart is beating hard and fast like a drum and I am literally scared to death.
"Thought you said you weren't going to get scared." He taunts me, smirking. "Shut up and hold me, Dylan." I demanded, madly. He held me in his arms with strength and all his might. With my head lying on his chest, it was beating slowly and steady.
"Your so warm. Warm in my arms." He mutters. "Quiet, I'm trying to enjoy this scary ass movie, boy." I whispered, biting Dylan's slender finger.
"Ouch, Jess." He said. "Ouch, my ass." I mumbled to myself. The movie shortly ended and everyone exited the Pullman movie theater, including I and Dylan. "I had a great night and time with you, Jess." Dylan smiles and touches my fave with his large hand softly.
"Me too." I agreed. "Before we go any further, I want to let you know about what's going on between K--" He didn't have time to tell me what he said because he got distracted by a woman in uniform giving me a parking ticket on his car. "Aww shit." He mumbles.
"What were you--" He balls my jet black long hair into his fist and forces me to kiss him. His kiss is enlightening, passionate, and quite refreshing. The way he kisses me makes me feel like I'm walking on clouds. He makes me feel alive.
..........
This is my 2nd favorite chapter and I hope everyone really likes it. There's a deeper meaning to what Dylan was going to tell Jessica but, I don't want to spoil it or give away the plot twist of the story. anyway, I hope everyone likes it.
