Chapter 18- Bad Boy Advice

(Chapter 18- Bad Boy Advice)

Being nervous about something was nothing out of the ordinary for me, especially when I was now dating the bad boy of the school, Brody Bauer. Ever since we had made it official things seem to be a little weird. Will I even remember how to act around him now? Is that even possible?

Actually I hadn't even seen him since yesterday when he confessed everything to me but when I do see him, I just know things will be weird. What worried me more was that Brody may have changed his mind about me. I wouldn't blame him I guess. Maybe he's had time to think about what he's done and wants to break up. I mean what other reason could he have for not showing up to school today after he just asked me to be his girlfriend? Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Am I paranoid?

Yes.

Okay maybe just a little but I can't help it.

I place my books in my locker before closing it shut and making my way down the hall. It was crowded as usual in the mornings and I had to fight my way through the hallway. Our school wasn't that small but with so many students packed into school like sardines it made it seem a little cramped.

"There you are." Olivia says grabbing me by the arm and pulling me from the herd of people into an empty part of the hallway.

"Hey Farrah." Grace smiles standing next to her.

"Hi."

Olivia's distraught face quickly grabbed my attention. "What's wrong?"

"You didn't hear? The winter formal is coming up!" She shouts. "We have been elected for the planning committee."

"What do you mean elected?" I ask. "I didn't even sign up."

"Elected, volunteered, what the difference?" She says easily.

What a minute. Volunteered?

Crossing my arms over my chest I send her my best glare. "You volunteered us didn't you?"

A guilty look played on her face as she shrugged. "I had to. No way was I getting stuck with icky Vicky again this year. It was either you or her and I think we all know who I would choose."

"Olivia that's not nice." I say trying my best to hold back my laugh.

"What?" She defends. "She's sick nine times out of ten and she doesn't cover her face when she sneezes. It's gross. And I'm pretty sure she's the one who gave me the flu last year."

This time I can't help but chuckle and so does Grace. I know I shouldn't be laughing right now but it is true. And gross.

"Maybe she's got an immune problem." Grace guesses.

"It's still disgusting." She replies to her and turns back to me. "Anyway Mrs. Edwards asked me to get a group together to help her with decorating the event room and planning the event. I volunteered you and Grace and Mia."

"You mean my neighbor Mia?" I ask.

"That would be her." She nods.

The brief memory of the night I left with Brody on his Motorcycle flashed through my mind. I thought the poor girl was going to fall right over at the sight of him taking his shirt off. He has that effect on a lot of girls.

You being one of them.

We'll at least I'm his girlfriend now....I think.

"Hello earth to Farrah." Olivia interrupts my thoughts by waving her freshly manicured hand in front of my face.

"Oops sorry." I reply feeling a little bad for not having listen to her.

"Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside that head of yours." She says shaking her head at me then looks between Grace and I. "Now, the dance is in three weeks so we have a lot of planning to do. I'll need you two after school on most days."

"What's most days?" Grace asks.

"Monday through Thursday."She answers.

"No way, I have ballet on Tuesdays." Grace complains.

Olivia sighs. "Fine but you have to be thereon all the other days."

"Yes slave driver." She teases walking off down the hall. "May we take breaks?"

Olivia rolls her eyes and walks off after her. "Laugh now but this a very important project. It needs to be taken seriously."

I pull out my phone to check the time and realize I have exactly two and a half minutes to get to my next class before I'm late. Gee thanks Olivia.

I slowly made my way to Mrs. White's class and see that Olivia is already seated in her usual spot. Brody's however is empty.

Where is he?

I place my books down on the desk and take my seat next to where he would be if he were here. I guess it's possible that he might have overslept today. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

"Today we will be finishing up on Jane Eyre so we can start on The Outsiders Wednesday." Mrs. White announces from behind her desk. "I have decided to let you watch the movie first seeing as how reading the book first can be a major disappointment to the film. That's just the difference between books and movies. I'd choose books every time."

Olivia leans over close to me and mumbles, "Of course she would, she's an English teacher."

"Everyone please take out your books and began reading. After you finish you my sit quietly in your desks until class is over."

I look over the meal choices for today debating on what I want to eat. Normally I might go for a healthier choice but the pizza and fries are looking pretty tasty right now. I place each one of them on my tray and grab my choice of beverage from inside the cooler.

"You should call him." Grace says taking me a bit off guard.

"What?"

"You should call him. I know you're worried about him." She states.

I turn away from her and face the rest of the line that is now moving so I don't bump in to anyone.

"I can't. I don't want to seem like the nagging girlfriend." I say making my way through the rest of the line.

Agnes one of our schools cafeteria ladies is waiting to ring me up once I reach the register. She's wearing her normal hairnet and frown she does every day. I don't think I've ever seen the woman smile or so much as offer up a greeting to anyone the whole time I've gone here.

"Four twenty five." She says giving me the total her usual monotone voice.

I reach into my pocket and pullout the money to pay her but before I could someone else already places money in her hand. "I'll get that."

My eyes follow the outstretched arm until my eyes reach the persons face. I smile and am a bit taken back when I realize its Brody. He picks up my tray and starts off in the direction of his table.

"What are you doing? I can pay for it."I argue following behind him.

"I know." He says without looking back. "But I wanted to."

My heart does a little flutter at that. He wanted to? That's so sweet.

"Hey Farrah." Kyle smirks at me as I sit down. "You look nice today?"

"Kyle, how many times do I need to tell you to stop hitting on my girlfriend?" He says sending a silent warning.

"At least a few more." He says winking at me and taking a bite of his food.

This is turn earns him a slap to the back of the head from Brody.

"Ouch man."He complains.

I chuckle at this source of entertainment they are providing us with and take a bit of my pizza. Brody's gonna kill him one day.

Kyle good looking guys and all but he's nothing compared to Brody. Besides I don't think he actually likes me or anything. I think he's just does it to mess with him. Anyway Kyle is more like someone I would rather be friends with then date. Brody has no competition.

I switch my gaze from the table to the lunch line and see that Olivia and Grace are both carrying their trays looking for me. I quickly wave them down getting their attention. Once she spots me, Olivia smiles and drags Grace along behind her to the table taking the two vacant seats next to me. I notice her blush when she looks over at Thomas who is giving her a smirk.

Hmm...I still don't know how I feel about this yet. What if he's just playing with her? I don't want her to get hurt. She's too sweet to have her heart crushed by a high school heart throb. Not to mention his player ways.

"Well if it isn't the assholes that drowned us." Sarah smirks plopping down in the seat across the table from me.

She shoots each one of the guys a deathly glare obviously still upset over what happened. Normally I would have been to but hey this is Brody we're talking about.

"That would be us." Kyle states proudly.

Sarah rolls her eyes at him then gives me a big grin. I can tell by the look on her face she knows something and I'm pretty sure I know exactly what it is.

"Brody and Farrah sittin' in a tree. K-i-s-s-i-"

"Hey that hurts." She complains rubbing her forehead.

"How many times do I have to tell you, singing is not for you?" He smirks.

She pouts her lip out at Brody before replying. "Awe, is someone still sore about the Facebook picture?"

Brody sends her a dangerous glare before holding up his phone in front of her. "You see this? Payback's a bitch Sarah, especially when it comes from me."

She lets out a loud gasp before looking back at Brody. "What did you do?"

"You my dear, have just been hacked." He smirks.

He jumps up from her seat before grabbing an apple from Thomas's plate and looking back to meet Brody's eyes. "This isn't over!"

She turns from the table makes her way out of the lunch room and towards the computer lab. No doubt going to try to fix the damage Brody's caused.

"What did you do?" I ask taking another bite of my food.

"I made a post from her account that basically said she had wet dreams about Mr. Flynn and she's secretly fantasizes about him in him in class." He states proudly.

I nearly spit the liquid out of my mouth while trying to hold in my laughter. I take a napkin riding my mouth of the little the escaped and lay it back down on the table.

"Our P.E. teacher?" I say in disbelief.

"Do we have another P.E teacher who is one hundred and fifty pounds overweight and sits behind the desk in his office eating powered doughnuts all day?" He laughs.

Just the thought of Mr. Flynn in his two sizes to small gym shorts with his shirt rolled up above his bellybutton so he can, as he puts it 'get some air' makes me want to hurl up my food. To even think that Sarah of all people found him desirable was just a joke.

I'm positive if his cousin wasn't the school principle, he wouldn't have even landed the job in the first place. I'm not entirely sure how a P.E teacher who doesn't leave his desk except to hit up the vending machines can be considered a suitable health and fitness teacher otherwise. For Mr. Flynn and Mr. Morgan to be related is to realize that anything is possible in this school. But I think we established that when the bad boy asked me to be his girlfriend.

"Your girlfriend spaces out a lot, doesn't she?" Thomas chuckles throwing an empty Styrofoam cup at my head.

"Hey, that wasn't nice." I scold combing the static from my hair.

He shrugs popping a fry into his mouth. "I never claimed to be a nice person."

Once I finish eating the remains of my food I take my tray up and throw it away once the couple in front of me move. When I turn to exit the area someone bumps my shoulder causing my almost fall on my but until I steady myself.

I swear. Some people can be so rude. No one watches where they walk anymore, nor do they care.

"Oops." A voice rings out who I instantly recognize as Megan's.

I look up to see her staring back at me apologetically.

"Sorry. I didn't see you there." She says.

I'm sure she didn't.

"It's fine Megan. No harm done." I say to avoid a showdown in front of the entire school.

She looks around the cafeteria a couple of times with a debating look on her face before lowering her heard to me. "Can I talk to you a minute?"

Her request takes me by complete and utter surprise causing me to go into a state of confusion. This has to be a joke right? She cannot be seriously asking me this.

"Just for a second." She adds.

I turned to see if Brody had even noticed Megan and I standing there talking to each other but he seemed to be to divulged into a conversation with Thomas to focus on anything else at the moment.

She walked away from me and to the direction of the door. I was having an internal battle with myself on this one. Should I follow her or not? It seemed pretty important and I am kind of curious what it's about.

'You remember what we learned about curiosity last time don't you?'

'Well this time it's about to find the cat and put it six foot under.'

I shut out my annoying thoughts before I have a chance to change my mind and quickly follow after her. She stands waiting for me about teen feet outside the door and waits until I close in on her.

"I know you know everything now." She says getting directly to the point.

"Look if this is just to rub it in my face then-"

She shakes her head at me holds up a hand. "No it's not."

"Then what?" I ask.

She sighs and looks away in shame before willing herself to speak. "I just wanted you to hear it from me why I did it."

"Jealousy." I state.

"Part of it." She nods. "Look I'm not here to repair our friendship because I know that not ever going to happen but I thought you at least deserved an explanation all things considering."

"Shoot." I say genuinely curious what her reason were.

"I really like Blake. In fact I might even love him. I know the way we got started my not have been the right way but somehow it managed to turn into something else for me. I can't speak for Blake but I've never felt this way for anyone else. I'm sorry it had to be him but we can't help who we fall in love with. It just sort of happened. The more time we spent together the closer we became. I know Blake doesn't want to admit his true feeling for me because he's still stuck on you but that's what I wanted to talk to you about."

She took in a deep breath before continuing. "I want to ask that you let him go."

I let out a quick breath of air in disbelief. "You want me to let him go? Well news flash Megan. In case you haven't noticed I already have. My life no longer revolves around Blake Coleman. He's all yours."

She looked at me appreciatively and offers a relieved smile. "Thank you."

"It's not for you. I just realized I can do better. Much better." I state.

"Well thank you anyway." She says and turns to leave. "I'll let you get back to lunch."

"Can I just give you some wise advice before you go?" I quickly ask before she can disappear.

She stops in her tracks and twists her body around to face me. "What?"

I know that I shouldn't care anymore since Megan and I were not friends but for some reason I felt like I should warn her about Blake. Well really I should warn all girls about Blake but right now I'll start with this one.

"He isn't the person that you think he is. Whatever feeling he led you to believe he has for you is all just a game to him. He messes with people's minds for fun. That's all it is. You can choose whether or not to believe me but all I'm saying is to be cautious when it comes to him. Keep your eyes open all the time." I say with just a little hope she will listen.

I don't know what possessed me to tell her this. Maybe it was because she was once my friend and I can't just forget that a whole year of friendship never happened or it could be that I still wanted to be friends with her on some level. I'm not exactly sure. But for now I think it's best we keep our distance from each other. Especially while she's so head over heels for Blake. I hope she's smart enough to realize what he's like before she gets crushed like I was.

'You shouldn't care Farrah'

'So sue me. I'm a nice person.'

"Farrah, are you ok?" Brody's voice sounds through the hallway giving me a startle.

Megan looks between the two of us without saying anything a leaves.

"What was that?" He asks moving to stand in front of me.

"Nothing just giving her a warning about Blake." I say before walking back into the luchroom with Brody right next to me.

Before we can reach our seats his hand entagles with mine and he pulls me to such a close proximitity to him that his lips brush lightly against my forehead for just a second before pulling away.

'Breathe Farrah, it was just a kiss.'

'Right... just a kiss....with a really hot guy.'

"Sorry I didn't tell you I was running late today." He says breaking the silence and sweet tender moment we were just having.

"It's ok. I thought it might be something important." I reply trying to make it seem like it wasn't that big a deal when in reality I was kind of freaking out about it.

"Just the usual fight with my parents. Nothing important." He brushes it off easily.

I nod my head at him response willing to let it go. He didn't seem to keen on talking so I wouldn't make him. I know his parents are a touchy subject.

"You're something else you know that?" He states.

"How so?"

"You never cease to surprise me." He says. "Even after everything Megan has done to you, you still told her about Blake. Most people wouldn't even care."

"I know." I agree. "But I'm not most people."

He shakes his head at me in disbelief and I can hardly believe it either.

"Look I'm not saying I forgive her, because I don't but, my main goal is to make Blake pay. I know him. He's a smooth talking, and pretty convincing guy so I know Megan would have never done something like that on her own. If Blake is really as bad as the things you've told me then maybe I can somehow show her the error of her ways. It might not be to late to help her." I explain. to him.

He didn't look to pleased by my choice but did his best to hold back from making a remark.

"Fine." He says. "I can't tell you what to do but I will tell you not to get your hopes up. I don't think she'll listen. And as far as Blake goes we give it all we've got. We're not giving up."

"Agreed." I nod.

Well at least something good was coming out of this. And if I can get Megan back on our side then that will help us prove to Blake that he doesn't have as much of a hold over girls as he things. Maybe it will bring down his ego a bit in the process to.

"What are you grinning at?" Brody asks.

Oh, was I smiling? I hadn't realized.

"Just imagining Blake's face when Megan tells him she can do better." I state.

"I admit that would be priceless but remember what I said before-"

"I know, not to get my hopes up." I finish. " But it's worth a shot."

The bell rang signaling the end of lunch making me realize I never made it back to my seat. Olivia and Grace immediately stood up and made their way to us. While they were discussing the latest history project we had due Brody bends down to give me a slow soft kiss on the lips leaving behind a minty after taste when he pulls away.

What is that? Peppermint or spearmint? I lick my lips ans smile like an idiot.

"Oh, I do believe I owe you this." He smirks taking out a piece of gum and slowly sliding it into my back pocket without taking his eyes from mine.

He give me one last pat on the butt before turning an walking from me.

"That was like...really hot." Grace admits staring after Brody.

"Apparently Farrah thinks so to." Olivia smiles studying my reaction. "Looks like someone's blushing."

I quickly cover up my cheeks to hide my embarrassment and walk past them out of the cafeteria . "Come on or we're gonna be late for history."

"Change the subject all you want, we still know the truth." She teases.

"I never denied it." I smile as I continue down the hall to our next class.

I do hope this week goes by rather quickly because this weekend it's time for someone to get their payback.
