I took another hit of the blunt and I blew out the smoke, my door opened and I looked at Shawn.

"Seems like the migraines are becoming worse again," he said.

"School is stressful," I said and I put it out. "What's up?"

"I wanted to make sure you weren't still upset with me," he said.

"You took my first boyfriend away," I said.

"I was just protecting you Alex," he said. "Protecting us."

"I know," I said. "But he made me feel important, the way mom and dad didn't."

"Maybe after everything calms down, you can date Parker again," he said.

"I know Kahn has told you what Parker has been doing to me," I said. "Calling me skater girl again and tripping me. He's notices me but I wish he didn't."

"If he doesn't want you Alex, then he doesn't deserve you," he said. "I'm sorry but this is just how it has to be."

"Yeah, whatever," I said and closed my eyes.

"Alexandra," he said and I looked at him. "Ashton and Caden's birthday is coming up. I want this attitude gone."

"And I want happiness but I'm not getting that either," I snapped and he shook my head, he reached jerking me to him.

"We're not doing this Alex," he said. "I'm not." I pulled his hand off me.

"Sorry to be such a disappointment," I said. "You can let yourself out." His jaw twitched and he walked out slamming my door.

Shawn's POV

"I'm not fighting with you two today," I said as I broke the twins up. "Go play on the playground or we're going home." They ran off and I looked at Jake, he was looking ahead.

"Football team," he said. "Parker Hudson, Kingston, and Justice Taylor." I looked and I recognized Parker, he was pushing McKenna in the swing.

"Jake," I said and he looked away. Ashton was running from Caden and she ran smack into the Justice kids leg. He looked down at her as her wide eyes looked up.

"Hey lil bit," he said and she shook her head.

"Hey Ashton," Parker said and she smiled when she saw him.

"You're Alex's friend," she struggled to get out.

"Yeah," he said and picked up McKenna. "Remember her?"

"Yeah, can I play with her?" She asked.

"Yeah, just don't take her out of my sight, ok?" He asked.

"Yes sir," she said and led McKenna away. Parker looked around, his eyes finally meeting mine. He smirked and said something to Justice and Kingston, he headed towards us.

"Oh shit," Jake said and I hit his stomach.

"Hey Shawny," he said and I refused the urge to clench my jaw. "Where's skater girl?"

"Look here Hudson, I'm getting tired of how you're treating my sister," I said through my teeth and he smirked slightly.

"Well, whose fault is that?" He asked. "I really liked Alex, but you screwed her."

"What about McKenna?" I asked. "What if a guy treated her the way you treat Alex?"

"There's a difference," he said. "I wouldn't ruin her chance." I clenched my fists and unclenched. He smirked as he looked away and looked for McKenna, Ashton was pushing her on the swing.

"I haven't jacked your jaw because of the kids, but you're pushing it," I said through my teeth.

"Don't threaten me Shawny, what good does that do Alex?" He asked and looked at me. "Does she like pizza?" I suddenly heard a cry and Parker went on high alert, but McKenna was still being pushed by Ashton.

"Pretty protective of your little sister, huh?" Shawn asked. "I never remember Ms. Hudson getting pregnant again."

"You know what the truth is so don't act like you don't," Parker said. "But whatever you do reflects onto Alex, so think wisely how you run your mouth."

"Parker!" The Justice kid yelled and I saw Caden sitting on him. "Get the kid off me."

"You're helpless Justice," Parker said and picked up Caden. "Hey buddy, how you doing?"

"Better if you weren't mean to Alex," he said and he nodded putting him down.

"McKenna's daddy," Ashton said and he looked down at her and McKenna. He bent down in front of her.

"Yes Alex's little sister?" He asked.

"Our birthday is coming up, I want McKenna to come," she said.

"Ashton, Parker is busy," I said.

"She'll be there," Parker said. "I promise." She smiled big.

"Oh my gosh, thank you," she said and hugged him, he chuckled as she pulled back. "Don't forget a present. I'm a princess so just ask your mommy and ask your daddy for Caden." She ran off laughing.

"Really?" I asked and he looked at me.

"What? I'm giving a little girl happiness, looks like she needs it," he said. "Along with the rest of you." He picked up McKenna and the three walked off.

Alex's POV

"I got the cake," Kahn said walking in and sat it down.

"I got the presents," Emily said setting hen on the table.

"I'm just here," Jake said, I looked around at the birthday streamers that hung up and the balloons that were balanced by wrapped weights. The presents were stacked, the thing about us was we each had to buy presents because we didn't have anyone else.

Emily was getting the cake and ice cream set, Kahn was starting up the hotdogs and hamburgers. Shawn was out with the twins letting them do whatever they wanted.

The door opened and shut, the twins ran in and Shawn coming in behind them. Ashton immediately showed me her freshly painted nails and I gasped and smiled at her.

"She's too young for that," Caden said. "She's gonna attract boys."

"Oh buddy," Shawn said ruffling his hair. "If she looks anything like Alex, no boys will come to her." I gasped and Jake laughed with Shawn, I punched Shawn's arm and he ruffled my hair.

"You're so mean," I said and the doorbell rang and I looked confused. "Who could that be?" Shawn walked away and Jake sipped on his drink, Emily shrugged her shoulders.

"Hey skater girl," Parker said and I looked at him, he was holding McKenna who was wearing a adorable outfit. She was holding a wrapped gift.

"Yeah, Parker is coming," Jake said. "I ask Justice if he wanted come and he said and I quote, I'd hate to see how you and skater girl are gonna get along."

"Get out," I said and he smirked at me.

"Ashton and Caden want McKenna here and that's where she's gonna be," he said. "Build a bridge and get over it."

"I got the food," Kahn said walking in. "Oh shit."

"Hey Kahn," Parker said and he sat McKenna down and smooth her skirt out. "Give Emily your gift." McKenna walked over and Emily took the gift. I turned around to the plates and the skirt I wore flared out.

"Isn't that a little too fancy for a birthday?" Parker asked and I turned back to him.

"Is that any of your business?" I asked and he looked down at McKenna scooping her up.

"Let's eat," Shawn said picking up Ashton. We all started fixing our plates and Parker glanced down at me. I walked over to McKenna and started feeding her cut up hot dog.

"No seat for moi?" Parker asked, he picked me up by my waist. "Found one."

"Parker, that's mine," I said and he sat me on his lap. I kept my eyes on McKenna.

"You'll live," he said and started eating, I moved back pulling my skirt from under me. I sat down and I felt Parker's hand gripped my butt. I held back my gasp and smiled at McKenna. "Better?"

"Yeah," I said and gave McKenna spoonful of hotdog.

"Shawny, can we eat cake now?" Caden asked, and Parker gripped again and I coughed. He pulled his hand away.

"Here's the cake," Kahn said setting it down. "Ok ready, Parker you might not know this song, but join in if you do." I stood up and Shawn walk in with his guitar, he strummed some notes.

Jake started snapping his fingers to the beat and I winked at Kahn as I sung Mean by Taylor Swift.

"You, with your words like knives
And swords and weapons that you use against me," I started.

"You have knocked me off my feet again. Got me feeling like a nothing," Kahn sang and I smiled.

"You, with your voice like nails on a chalkboard. Calling me out when I'm wounded," Jake sang and he smiled at me.

"You, picking on the weaker man," Shawn chimed in and I glanced at Parker.

"Well you can take me down with just one single blow. But you don't know, what you don't know," we all sang together and looked at the twins.

"Someday I'll be living in a big ole city
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me," we all sang and Parker picked up McKenna and swung her around. "And all you're ever gonna be is mean Why you gotta be so mean?" The music drained out and we clapped as the twins blew the candles out.

"Swifties rock," Ashton said and I rolled my eyes.

"You don't even like Taylor Swift," I said.

"Yeah, because I'll never be pretty like her," she said. "That's what mom told me."

"Princess," Parker said and she looked at him. "The guy that gets you, he better be smoking because you are gonna be beautiful."

"Hey, I say that," Caden said and narrowed his little eyes.

"Next time, beat me to the punch," he said and smirked.

I was scrubbing the dishes as the twins were playing with their presents. Parker got them a book of twin problems.

"So who's older?" Parker asked.

"It's twins, it doesn't matt-"

"Me," Ashton said proudly.

"By 14 minutes," Caden said.

"Sore loser," Ashton said and Parker chuckled, he came beside me.

"I don't like your skirt," he whispered.

"Why? It's teasing you?" I asked.

"No, I can't stare at your butt," he said, he looked behind us. "It's killing me not kissing all over your face, I want to so bad."

"We'll get there," I said and he kissed my cheek.

"I hope so because I wanna show you off," he said and I looked down smiling. I suddenly had my face wet.

"Oh my god," I gasped.

"That's for being a brat," he said.

"What's going on in here?" Shawn asked.

"Parker Hudson," I said through my teeth and grabbed the knife.

"No, no, no," Shawn said grabbing my wrist. "Drop it." I stared cold at Parker and dropped it.

"Get him out before I break his face," I said and he looked at Parker.

"You heard her," Shawn said. "Get your baby and get lost."

"Will do, this was a lovely evening," he said and smirked as he walked out.

"Alex-"

"Don't touch me," I said and walked out.

Ok I'm having doubts about my book, I feel like I made it go the wrong way. Was this chapter good because I felt this was terrible.

So Alex smokes marijuana for migraines, so she's not a druggie. Not judging those who do smoke, because I know it makes you feel good. 😂😂

So she Shawn in his place and it was the twins birthday. Then Parker at the park and he got invited.

Then the birthday party, I'm sorry it wasn't that good. I let you down. I sowy. 😪
