I couldn't believe I was driving to go have dinner at Parker Hudson's house. I changed about five times trying to get the perfect outfit, I felt like I was meeting the parents.

I got to his house and I got out, I walked up to the door and knocked twice. My heart was pounding and my palms were sweaty.

I was about to run but my legs were glued in place, the door opened and Parker was there.

"Hey Alex, come in," he said and I walked past him. He shut the door and he led me into the living room, I saw McKenna on the floor playing with her toys.

We walked into the kitchen and Parker's mom was cooking. She saw me and smiled.

"Hey Alex," she said.

"Hey Ms. Hudson," I said. "I didn't know if I was suppose to bring something, I haven't really been invited to dinner."

"It's fine, just thanks for coming," she said.

"Thanks for inviting me," I said, we walked back to the living room and McKenna smiled at Parker. He bent down and kissed her head. I looked away and tried to stop the knots forming in my stomach.

"Hey," Parker said and I looked at him. "Wanna go upstairs?" I looked towards the kitchen and he picked up McKenna. "It's ok." He started walking towards the stairs and I followed. We walked upstairs and to his room, he shut the door and threw McKenna in the air. She laughed and he sat on her the bed, he climbed beside her and she looked up at him.

He gave her a teething toy and she chewed on it with the teeth she was cutting.

"You can sit down," he said, I walked over and I kicked off my shoes. I climbed on the bed and smiled down at McKenna. "I'm sorry." I looked up at him to make sure he spoke.

"For what?" I asked.

"Pinning you up against the locker like that," he said. "I was way to rough and I just got protective over McKenna. She's my little girl and I'd do anything to keep her safe."

"I should've never called her stupid," I said. "I would've been mad too." McKenna crawled to Parker and he picked her up.

"Did you miss daddy today?" Parker asked, she laughed and squealed. "I'll take that as a yes." He kissed her cheek and I heard someone knocked on the front of door. I looked at Parker.

"I'm not the only one you invited?" I asked, I heard it open and voice talking.

"Come in," I heard his mom say in a distance, Parker went to the door and peeked out. He looked back at me and I got up.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Parker! Dinner's ready!" Amy called and he looked at me. We walked downstairs and through the living room, we went to the kitchen and I saw Amy and a man. "Parker, look who's here." Parker didn't say anything, I stepped forward and stuck my hand out.

"I'm Alex," I said. "I'm a friend of Parker."

"Nice to meet you, Alex," he said. "I'm Isaac."

"Nice to meet you too, Isaac," I said and looked at Parker. I took McKenna from him and sat her in her high chair. I heard the front door open and I looked, I saw two boys walk in. One had bright black hair and his blue eyes stood out, the other had dark brown hair which stood out with his pale green eyes. 

"What's up little brother?" Black haired one asked ruffling Parker hair and the brown haired one went to McKenna. He kissed her head and she giggled and kicked her tiny legs.

"Aw, of you're exciting to see uncle Ben," Ben said and she showed her bottom two teeth.

"Well, well, who do we have here?" The black haired asked, I could tell the resemblance between him and Parker. The high cheekbones and the eyes, even the way he smirked was even the same. "Parker never brings a girl home."

"I'm just a friend," I said and he licked his lips.

"Ok friend, I'm Max, Parker's older, and much good looking, brother," Max said. "That's Ben over there, he's the second oldest."

"So Parker, you're the baby?" I asked.

"Yep," he said and we all sat down, I sat beside Parker and Max had his blue eyes pouring into me.

"You're undressing with your eyes, stop it," Parker hissed in a whisper, Max winked at me and looked down at his phone.

We got our food and fixed our plates, I noticed Parker had a kid plate. He was fixing McKenna's before his, he didn't even have a plate.

"McKenna, you gotta eat the corn," he said and she shook her head. "McKenna Lee." Her eyes focused on his and her mouth opened, he put a spoonful of corn in and she ate it.

I saw Shawn in Parker, the way he wanted stuff done his way or he done it himself. Ben and Max were talking about college and I don't know what the adults were referring too.

Parker gave McKenna some drink and the way she said, ah, afterwards was adorable. I heard a chair scrape and my head went up to Amy, who was standing.

"What's up, ma?" Parker asked and he ate a fish stick.

"Um guys, I went to the doctor yesterday," she said. "And um, I found out I'm uh pregnant." It was silent in the room, even McKenna was quiet.

"I asked her hand in marriage," Isaac said.

Oh shit this just got real, I took a sip of my drink. Parker got up picking up McKenna and her cup, he started walking away.

"Parker," Amy said and Parker looked at her.

"What?" He asked.

"Can't you be happy?" She asked.

"Happy? So far your taste in men hasn't been very good," he shot at her. "I have McKenna, I can't do this." He turned away. Isaac hugged her as she teared up. He stormed off upstairs leaving us in silence except his weeping mother.

"I'll go talk to him," I said and slid back, I walked to his room and walked in. He had McKenna in his lap and she drinking her cup. I walked over and sat beside him, he was trying to control his anger for McKenna. "Parker you should be happy for your mother, you're gonna have a little brother or sister."

"Stop talking to me like I'm five," he said.

"Stop acting like you're five," I shot back.

"My dad left because he was too ashamed of this family, why won't Isaac?" He asked.

"They're not the same," I said. "You should've saw the way he held her after you left."

"Why'd he hold her?" He asked and repositioning McKenna on his lap.

"You made her cry," I said and he looked at McKenna who was chewing on the top.

"She has three boys, two are in college and I'm a senior," he said. "Then a grandchild, she doesn't have time for another kid."

"Parker, McKenna isn't her responsibility, she's yours," I said and his head shot up and his eyes met mine.

"You see I didn't leave her down there," he shot at me. "Not all parents leave their kids behind."

"What's that suppose to mean?" I shot at him and McKenna flinched. Parker sat her back and gave her a teething toy, she chewed in it and he looked at me.

"I didn't mean it towards you Alex," he said and touched my arm, I shrugged him off unintentionally. He peeked back at McKenna who was in the same spot. "It isn't fair."

"What's not fair?" I asked and climbed on the bed, I went to McKenna and she smiled at me. I brushed her hair back and played with her hands.

"Her mom gets to run free, party and do whatever the hell she wants," he said. "I can't party when I want, I can't live my life anymore because I have a kid." I looked at McKenna. "I never want to say I regret her but she's why my dad left." I looked at him and I went to him and stood on my knees.

"Don't say that," I said. "No daughter wants to feel like her dad is ashamed of here. I know the feeling."

"No, I'm not ashamed of her," he said. "I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. But that bitch done that on purpose, to spite me. I hate feeling like I blame her, she's just a baby."

"McKenna," I said and she looked at me. "Come here." She crawled towards me and I pulled her forward. "Give daddy love." She smiled at him and jumped in his arms. He hugged her and kissed her head.

"I love you McKenna," he said and she laughed, I had this feeling in my gut. I never had that love growing up.

I was sitting on Parker's bed as he was giving her a bath. I got up and walked to the door, McKenna was standing up and Parker was trying to wash her hair.

"McKenna, you're gonna fall," he said with that daddy tone.

"Dada," she said and splashed water, I walked back and sat on the bed. Parker walked out with McKenna in a towel, he laid her on the bed. He rubbed her down with baby lotion and got a diaper and a sleeper on her. He towel dried her hair real good and picked her up.

"Give Alex kisses night," he said and I stood up, I kissed McKenna's cheek. He walked out with her and I looked around. He came back in and looked at me shutting the door quietly. "She was tired."

"You got her to bed quicker that I can get Ashton and Caden to bed," I said.

"She's not always that easy to get to sleep," he said. "You wanna stay here tonight? I can lend you a shirt and some shorts."

"Yeah, I'll just tell Shawn I'm with Emily," I said pulling out my phone.

"Ok, I'm gonna get a shower," he said and I nodded. "Whenever you finish, grab whatever you want from that drawer over there. Then come to the bathroom to wash up." I nodded and he walked into the bathroom.

I scrolled through my contact and clicked Emily first.

"If Shawn asks you where I'm at, I'm with you, clear?"

I waited about a minute, Emily was a fast texter.

"Copy that, but babe where are you?"

"I'll tell you tomorrow."

"Alright, goodnight babes."

Ok, now Shawn's turn, I clicked the call button and put it to my ear.

"Hey Alex," he answered after about three rings.

"Hey Shawny," I said. "I'm staying at Emily's tonight, ok?"

"Ok, just be at school," he said.

"I will," I said.

"Brush your teeth too," he said.

"Shawn," I said.

"I love you," he said.

"I love you too," I said and hung up, I walked to the drawers and grabbed a t-shirt. I grabbed a pair of basketball shorts and I got dressed. I went to the bathroom and it was steamy from the hot water with Parker. He was humming softly and I smiled. I saw spare toothbrush with a note that said Alex on it. I brushed my teeth and I fixed my hair up in a messy bun.

Parker's water turned off and I quickly got out of there, the last thing I need is an image of a naked Parker. It actually might not be so bad.

The bathroom door making me turn around to Parker. He had on basketball shorts that hung low on his waist, his abs were defined perfectly and his V-line was to die for. He had a tattoo of roses and it connected up to his arm and down. I looked closer and I walked over, I grabbed his wrist and looked at a weird tattoo.

"Ok, Parker sweetie," I said.

"What?" He asked.

"Why do you have the angelic power rune from the Mortal Instruments tattooed on you?" I asked.

"It's not," he said pulling away. "Fine, I'm a fan of Isabelle, she's hot. I needed something to do all those nights staying up with McKenna. I would read to her, she liked it."

"That's adorable," I said and he looked at me.

"Do you trust me?" He asked.

"Do you trust me?"

"Alex," he said snapping me from my daydream. "Do you trust me?"

"I don't know you like that and it's takes a lot to gain trust," I said.

"I just wanna know when your dad left," he said. "I wanna hear it."

"Parker–"

"Please," he said, I climbed on the bed as he turned out the light. He turned on a lamp and climbed beside me.

"My dad is a business man," I said. "He traveled a lot, business trips, the regular stuff. The late nights happened and my dad wasn't there to tuck me in like every night." He started stroking my hair in a comforting manner. "I was walking home with Emily, we were eating ice cream and gonna see dad at the office. I didn't knock and him and the secretary were having a very...intimate meeting."

"Oh Alex, I'm sorry," he said.

"Oh, it gets better," I said. "We got into a full argument over it, we both have tempers. I was gonna tell mom and he said no, we kept going and he backhanded me."

"What?" He asked and touched my face.

"He told mom he was going out to get gas, he still hasn't came back," I said.

"Alex, come here," he said and hugged me, I tensed and waiting for him to let go. "Why'd you tense up?"

"I'm not use to comfort," I said and laid down, he laid beside me and wrapped his arm around me. "Parker, don't...hurt me."

"Never," he whispered and kissed my shoulder. I closed my eyes and I fell asleep in his arms.

So let's discuss this, how do you like Parker and Alex? That's what happened to her dad, now where's her mother? Why is she so tense with comfort? Then McKenna is adorable, I can't get over her. Trust me, bathing a kid is SO much harder than it looks and sounds.
