Chapter 11
Alex's POV
"You got the popcorn?" I asked Emily as I walk into Emily's living room.
Tonight was our sleepover, I needed some girl time. It was so awkward throughout the week, home and school. I haven't spoke that much to any of my brothers and the football team's mission is to ruin my life.
So, our night was messy buns, joggers, tank tops, and stuffing our face in candy and food.
"What's a movie without popcorn?" She asked sarcastically and I shook my head. I plopped down on the floor in front of the couch. Emily turned off the lights and came next to me with the bowl of popcorn. "Conjuring 2, here we come."
~
Really, this is pretty much the most cliché moments of my life. Emily and I clutching on to each other for dear life and shielding our eyes.
Let's just say, Conjuring 2 is pretty fucking scary.
That music where you know something bad is about happened started playing. We were staring at the TV debating whether to close or open our eyes.
"Boo," a voice said and we screamed as we scrambled up from our spots. The lights came on and we looked to see Parker and Justice. Parker was holding a pizza and Justice was by the light.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I snapped.
"How'd you find my house?" Emily snapped next, he glanced back at Justice and then back at us.
"Are you yelling at me?" He asked.
"No," Emily answered quickly and I looked at her then back at Parker.
"You weren't answering the door," Parker said casually and shrugged.
"That doesn't mean, invite yourself inside," I shot back and he tossed the pizza on the couch.
"Justice, I got it from here," he said and Justice walked out. "You won't talk to me at school, it seems pointless to call or text, and well, I can't exactly show up to your house."
"I know you're not familiar in the area of having an ex, but you usually don't talk to them after a break up,"
"See, that's the part I don't understand," he said and stepped closer. "The breaking up part."
"Look Hudson, I know you're not use to being dumped, but it was time for a change," I said and he just looked at me. His jaw was tightened and I could tell his temper was coming, something we didn't need. "Just go, Parker."
"I trusted you," he said through his teeth and he came in front of me. "I trusted you with the secret about McKenna. I trusted about my dad." I just stared down at the floor.
"Parker, I'm not going to tell," I said and looked up at him. "I'm sorry we didn't work out." He closed his eyes and chuckled dryly.
"You want to keep letting your brothers rule your life," he said. "Be my fucking guest." I stared into his eyes and he walked out, slamming the door in the process.
"You picked a good one," Emily said and I shot her a look.
~*~
Mission; Ruin Alex Ramsey's Life, was in full throttle and was being achieved quite well. I never got a break, at anytime. Not from Parker, not from any of the football team, and not from my brothers.
Parker had already moved on, he's had his fair share of make out sessions in the hall. Yeah, I was the cause of that, but he didn't have to make it seem so easy.
I was sitting in my closet going through some stuff when I found a treasure chest. I opened it and saw a bunch of dress up clothes from when I was a kid.
"Wouldn't I be a beautiful princess?" I asked Shawn.
"You'd be the prettiest of them all," he said with a smile.
That's when Shawn wasn't so bossy and pouty when things didn't go his way. I took a breath and closer it, someone else could put use to it. McKenna.
I lifted the treasure chest and walked downstairs, I didn't acknowledge anyone as I walked out from the house. I put the chest in the backseat and opened the drivers door.
"Alex, can we go?" I heard Caden and I looked at him and Ashton.
"I'll be right back," I said and got in, I cranked the car as I saw Shawn standing in the window. I looked away and pulled out.
I finally arrived at the Hudson residence and stepped out, I opened my back door and pulled out the chest. I kicked my door closed and headed to the front door.
I was debating whether to drop it and run or actually grow some balls. I rang the doorbell and waited, I was just about drop and run, but the door opened. It revealed Parker.
"What do you want?" He asked with venom in his voice. Didn't really blame him.
"I just brought something for McKenna," I said and he moved letting me inside. I walked in more and sat the chest on the couch.
"You want something to drink?" He asked.
"No, I'm not staying," I replied and it became awkwardly quiet. "I'm just gonna go."
"I don't even know why you came in the first place," he said and I looked at him and then the chest. "You just find some old chest and instantly think of McKenna?"
"Take it, leave it, burn it, I don't really care," I said and turned to walk out.
"Why do you make it so difficult?" He asked and I looked back at him. "I actually liked you, Alex, and you showed me the reason why I don't catch feelings."
"It didn't take you long to forget about me and move on," I said and crossed my arms across my chest.
"It was your fault," he snapped back.
"That doesn't mean it hurts any less," I said and he scoffed.
"You're the cause of it," he snapped getting louder. "You broke up with me, because you can't stand up to your brothers!" He stepped closer to me.
"I can, I just-"
"Just shut up, Alex," he said through his teeth. "Don't you dare try and play the victim."
"I'm not, Parker," I said and he got in my face.
"Was this your plan from the beginning?" He snapped making me flinch. "You saw the opportunity to play me? Beat me at my own game? What?"
"I never thought it was a game," I said, I closed my eyes as a tear slipped and rolled down my cheek.
"Are you seriously fucking crying?" He said through his teeth.
"I just don't like being yelled at," I stammered. "You're scaring me, Parker." He lifted my chin to his face and his thumb wiped away my tear.
"Why should I care whether or not you like being yelled at?" He asked and his grip tightened slightly. "You think me seeing you cry is going to change this whole situation?"
"No," I said softly and he let go. I turned and I walked towards the door.
"See you at school," he said with a taunt to his tone.

"I don't know, Conjuring 2 seemed more scary than the first one," Jake said and I shrugged in agreement.
"Surprising that you'd even watch it," Kahn commented with a chuckle. "Remember It?"
"That clown statue was pretty creepy to begin with," I shot back. "Who put a clown statue in a kids bedroom?"
"Mom does," Shawn spoke up as he moved Ashton on his hip. "It's where she kept her stash of money, knowing you wouldn't touch it." That's actually pretty smart. We walked up in the line and all ordered something to eat.
I just got nachos and the rest got hot dogs.
"Hey, you two stop playing before you get something on your jerseys," Shawn snapped at Kahn and Jake, Kahn got the last hit.
We headed for the bleachers as Kahn and Jake jogged away to the field.
"Alex," someone called and I turned to see Parker's mom. She had McKenna in a carrier strapped to her chest, along side her was Max and Ben. "Sit with us."
"You can't sit with us," Caden mumbled and I mentally slapped myself.
We walked over and I smiled at Ms. Hudson, McKenna was wearing a jersey of our school colors.
McKenna reached for me and I chuckled, Ms. Hudson reached behind and unhooked the carrier.
"Here, you can hold her," she said. "She likes you anyway." I took the carrier and hooked it behind my back. I glanced back at Shawn, who didn't look very happy to see Max and Ben. Caden and Ashton were enjoying their hotdogs.
The game soon started and Parker seemed confused when he saw McKenna with me. I moved closer to the brick wall and McKenna waved her arms as she hollered.
I ended up having to share my nachos, well the cheese more like. She was smacking her lips and you couldn't help but laugh at her. She was too adorable.
I heard people yelling and I stood up, I saw Parker had the ball and was running.
"Kenna, look at daddy," I said and she smiled big with cheese around her mouth.
"Dada," she called and I laughed. The whistle blew signaling half time and Parker jogged towards us. He jumped up and pushed himself up the wall. He hopped down. McKenna started kicking and smiling when she saw him.
He picked her up and held her up making her squirm as she laughed. He lowered her down and kissed all over her face making her giggle.
"Hey baby, did you see me make that touchdown?" He asked her and she giggled. You could see almost every girl in the bleachers was fawning over the scene.
He slipped her back into the carrier and glanced up at me, he stood up straight and I just looked at him nervously. He suddenly smirked and grabbed my jaw, he pecked my lips and then my bottom lip.
"Thanks for watching her," he said against my lips, his cold breath tickling my face. He pecked my lips once.
"Parker," Ms. Hudson said.
"You're coming over after the game, right?" I looked at him and so many emotions swirled inside my body.
"Um, uh, y-yeah," I stammered and he bit his lip.
"Good," he whispered and then bent down kissing McKenna again. He turned around and jumped down and ran off to join the others.
I had to fight off the urge of a big smile forming on my face as I turned to Shawn.
"Hi," I said and then sat down.
~
I was sitting on Parker's bed as I watched him with McKenna. He had given her a bath and he had taken a shower, now he was playing with her.
"I'm going to get you," he taunted her and she cackled and crawled to me. I picked her up and Parker smirked. "She's not going to protect you, I'll just get you both." He pulled us down and McKenna and I laughed as he tickled both of us.
"Parker stop," I laughed and he did, he was out of breath just as we were. I looked McKenna and I pushed Parker back. I started tickling him as McKenna crawled up. She was trying to tickled but instead just hit his belly.
The thing that sucked was, Parker wasn't laughing.
"Sorry, not ticklish," he said and he snatched up McKenna making her laugh. "I could listen to you laugh all day, princess." He lowered her and rubbed his nose against hers.
McKenna pointed towards me and Parker looked at me and then back at McKenna.
"You want me to give Alex kisses too?" He asked her and she kept pointing at me. "Does Alex want daddy's kisses?" I chewed at my lip and then smiled at McKenna. I tickled her making her squirm.
Parker soon put McKenna to bed and I was getting ready to go home, not that I really wanted to face Shawn. Parker walked back in and looked at me.
"So I'm taking you don't want to get back together," he said and I looked away from him.
"I'm stubborn," I said as I shook my head, I walked to him. "It takes a lot more than just a kiss at a football game to show me how much this means to you."
"So, I got played...again," he said and I touched his arm and then walked out.
