Professionalism

Marinette

"I thought you were inexperienced." Adrien said after slowly breaking the kiss.

I could feel the heat rising on my cheeks, but then again, my entire body felt warm.

"I was." I said, my voice barely hearable.

"Didn't feel like it, princess." He whispered coming closer.

If hearts could explode, mine would already have. It was beating faster than ever before.

Suddenly, Adrien leaned in for another kiss, one that caught me off guarded. This was different. The kiss was rough, but there was an incredible amount of passion hiden to it. As we kissed, Adrien pressed me against the wall, leaving absolutely no space between us.

I could feel his heart, and I was kind of relieved to find out that mine wasn't the only one beating like a drum.

As the tension between us was about to reach the top, a loud bang on the door caught us both off guard.

"I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE MARINETTE! YOU BETTER TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED THE OTHER DAY, OR ELSE!" Alya yelled.

Adrien slowly pulled away and headed to get the door, before Alya broke it open.
I sat up straight on the bed, fixing myself, trying to look like I hadn't just had a make out session with the Uni's most wanted guy.

"MARI– Oh Adrien! You're here too?"

Her tone changed from terrifying to calm and cute in a matter of seconds.

"Yeah, it's my dorm too, so go figure." Adrien said.

"Is Mari here?" She smiled.

"Do I want to be here?" I said.

She moved passed Adrien, walking towards me with a deadly look on her face. It reminded me of that one time I accidentally ate the last cookie from her house. If this was the case, I was already dead.

"Ms. Dupain-Cheng! You've got some explaining to do. Why did I have to learn things from Adrien, and Madison's complaints?" She yelled right into my face.

"Right. Well a lot happened and I didn't have time to–"

"You got attacked by that Bret guy? I always knew he was trouble!" She cut me off.

"Well then why didn't you say anything when I told you about him?!"

"I didn't know he was that kind of trouble yet! Don't blame me for trying to get you a love life!"

My head was probably like one of those red Christmas flashy lights. I could hear Adrien holding in his laughter.

"Well, I'm okay thanks for asking." I mumbled, trying to swallow my embarrassment.

"Obviously! If you weren't, Adrien would be in kill mode."

I couldn't help but take a quick glance at him, whose face was starting to get a bit flustered. Karma for laughing at me.

"I'm going to go see Nino. I kind of owe him an apology I guess." He bailed out.

"Tsk that guy!" I mumbled, forgetting that I was left alone with Alya for a moment.

"Hello? Earth to Marinette!" Alya said.

... And we're back!

"Right. I'm sorry for not telling you. I was going to, I swear, but I..."

"Mari!" She cut me off, looking at me with narrowed eyebrows.

"What? What's wrong?" I asked.

"You... your lips are a bit swollen." She said, before widening her eyes.

"No they're not!" I quickly say, covering my mouth.

"Oh yeah? Cause last time I saw you, they didn't look like Jimin's. You're a terrible liar!" She was now yelling at me, while chasing me around with a pillow in her hands.

She was throwing the pillow around, trying to get me.

"Stop it! You're going to break something!" I said.

"You little... You kissed Adrien and didn't even tell me about it. I thought we were besties!" She continued yelling.

"It's not like I had the chance! It literally happened a few minutes ago!" I shouted in my defense.

"Oh? Did I interupt you guys?" She stopped chasing me, and asked calmly. Stupid mood swings of hers.

"What do you think?" I scoffed.

"Sorry, but tell meeee! How was it?" She asked, clinging onto me.

"How can you talk about this so freely?" I muttered.

"Hm? What did you say?"

"Nothing."

"So? Did you find it hard? Weird? Amazing?" She started bombing me with questions.

"Alya please stop asking me about it." I sighed.

"Aw, don't tell me you're scared. You're a big girl now. You can handle these kinds of situations." She smiled.

"Yeah, yes I can. But I don't need you to ask about it."

"You do know that I'm studying journalism, right?"

"Yes, and I can already tell you have a career ahead of you." I said.

"I'm already a professional!" She laughed.

According to Adrien I was one too. Just, not in journalism.
