Awkward!
Hello, my readers! I'm in a good mood today, because you've started commenting on the story. And despite what you might think, I love reading your comments with your reactions! So I have decided to upload the next chapter today as well!
Are you happy?
Hehehe
Marinette
Bret had been staying with us for 3 days now, and so far he hadn't caused any problems. Not that he was ever here! He left in the mornings and returned in the evenings. Neither me nor Adrien knew where he was going, but we were too busy with classes to try and find out.
It was now afternoon, and Adrien and I were relaxing, doing our own things.
"Hey Marinette! I gotta go somewhere. I'll be back in a while." He said.
"Okay. See you later." I responded.
I sat on my bed reading my new book, when aftet a few minutes the door opened.
"Did you forget something?" I asked assuming it was Adrien.
But it wasn't. It was Bret instead, who had entered the dorm.
"Oh Bret! I'm sorry, I thought you were Adrien." I said.
"It's fine. Do you have any snacks?" He asked with a smile that looked quite inocent.
"We have some cookies left, I think. They're in the kitchen." I answered.
"Thanks." He mumbled.
I returned to reading my book, but he soon returned with a mood for a conversation.
"So what are you reading?" He asked.
"The mortal instruments: City of Glass." I said.
I didn't think he actually cared about the book thought.
"Ah! That's a nice one. I'veeady read the whole series and that's my favourite." He suddenly answered.
It caught me off guard. I looked at him, not believing him one hundred percent.
"What?" He asked.
"I just didn't take you for a guy who reads." I said.
"You'd be surprised. Both me and Adrien read. We always have." He said.
"Interesting." I mumbled.
"Are you scared of me?" He suddenly asked.
"What?"
"I know Adrien told you about me, so are you scared of me?"
"N-No. I've just never met anyone like you." I hastily responded.
"It's not like it's uncommon! Adrien had tried drugs too!" He said.
"What?" I asked, dumbfounded by this new piece of information.
"You didn't know? It was back when his mother died. He never got addicted though."
*I didn't even know his mom died!*
"I had no idea..." I mumbled.
"Yeah, that's hust how things were. Hey are you hungry? Wanna go grab a bite?" He asked, completely changing the subject.
"Uh thanks but no thanks. I'm not hungry."
Just then my tummy made a loud sound. *Tummy, you ain't helping your host!*
"Sounds like you are." Bret said, taping his foot.
"Yeah well..." I awkwardly said.
Now I felt bad. He knew I was lying and it wa really hurtful.
"...fine! Let's go to the cafeteria." I sighed.
I didn't really want to go, but I didn't want to be rude either. Besides, this was Adrien's friend. I had come to trust Adrien, so everything should be fine, right?
I grabbed my keys and we walked outside of the dormitories. The cafeteria was not far, but there was still some distance that I had to awkwardly walk with Bret, without saying a word.
When we arrived at the cafeteria, I was somehow relieved that it was full.
"This place is nice!" He mumbled, looking around.
I nodded. I looked around in case Alya or Nino were there to save me, but they weren't.
"Oh is that you, Marinette?" A familiar voice said from behind me.
I turned around to see a girl. Not just any girl. A girl with perfectly tanned skin and silky brown hair, with a pair of glasses, expensive as hell.
