Will anything ever be normally done?

We were commanded to be inside the office but not before our eyes, our thumbs and our phone were scanned right at the gate of the station with some weird-ass X-Ray machine.

I just didn't know that what part of my brain got hurt that I was going under such examination?

Rabbit looked so pissed off and I tried to show him my brightest set of teeth to give him courage but he gave a horrible scowl to me.

Whatever! Like I care.

Brayden and I were sitting in a dark entrapped room and it was illuminated by a bulb hanging right above us.

'This chair is damn uncomfortable and why they have left us alone here?' I was getting frustrated by passing second.

'You thought they will give us five-star treatments here?' His tongue was laced with venom. I could feel it.

I looked straight into his eyes and crossed my arms. 'First, I don't understand why we are here, we didn't do anything wrong.' He raised his eyebrow. 'And second, stop giving me such looks; it feels like you are constipating.'

'You seriously are an idiot person and this is the worst day of my life that I got stuck here with YOU.' He was pointing his finger at me.

'Oh look, how blessed I am to get stuck with such a fungus-infected brain of yours.' My eyes were shooting daggers.

He was about to say something when a loud noise interrupted us.

'SILENCE' Officer Brock voice boomed in a silent room.

He came around and sat in front of us. I tried to calm my nerves and plastered a smile on my face.

'So, Miss Scarlett, care to tell us why you did what you shouldn't have done.'

'How on earth would I know that I would get attacked so barbarously? And then on top of that, I just protected myself. Where's my fault in that?' I was just stating pure logic.

'Your fault is that you sprayed your pepper on our Mayor.' He was stating pure illogic.

'You mean that gold statue of your Mayor?'

He simply nodded.

'You know, I still have pepper spray with me.' I said with confidence.

'Scarlett, calm down, you are not helping us in this situation.' Brayden tugged my hand and whispered in my ear.

'You should know the rules of this land. It is a serious crime here to damage any property related to our Mayor.' 

I was about to point out when he held up his hand to silence me. 'And since I know, you didn't do it intentionally but still, it happened, so, a big relief for you guys that you won't spend your 10 years in jail.'

Brayden and I were shocked to hear this.

'So, you both will be charged under section POMAAC1099, (a) you can't visit any other country till 2 months' time starting from today. (b) You both are chipped together under our partner in crime data so, if you both are not in 5km radius, we will get informed and then we will notify to the police station of that area. (c) After 2 months, you both have to be present in this station to sign your release paper from POMAAC.'

Well, officer Brock stated all this in a very calm and composed manner.

'I don't understand what this POMAAC is, what chipping you guys have done?'

I was still thinking that maybe they will say, April Fool Scarlett. We were just pulling your leg and a camera person will show up but nothing happened.

'POMAAC is Protection of Mayor at Any Cost and the moment we scanned your eyes, thumbs and phone through our Lemon technology, you both have been registered together in our database so, we saw you both as partners in crime.'

'I don't even know her.' Brayden said with clenched teeth and looked towards me, 'and have no patience in me to be with this trouble maker.'

'Oh look, like I am dying to stay with you.' I scoffed. 'I have my own priorities.'

'To hell with your priorities.' I gasped. He just didn't say that. 'I think your mind is really rotten.'

'Oh is it? Should I check that theory?' and I was about to grab his hair from roots and jerk them so badly when officer Brock again intervened in the middle.

'I just have one handcuff with me right now but it will be enough for you both. Should I handcuff you both with that?'

'NO WAY!!!' We both said uniformly.

I settled down and took a deep breath. 'What's with this Lemon technology? What happened to Apple?'

'Lemon has surpassed all the technological inventions. You know the saying, when "life gives you lemons." So, this company gifted us with Lemon Technology. We are so happy with it.' Officer Brock graced us with his yellow teeth smile.

'And made our life sour.' I muttered under my breath.

Brayden loudly coughed at the exact moment.

Maybe to cover up what I said?

'Any more questions?' Officer asked.

And we both nodded our head eagerly.

'So, I can visit other places in this country without any hesitation, right?' My major concern.

Officer nodded.

'I can do whatever I want' officer Brock raised a brow at his statement, 'of course, within premises of laws.'

Of course, you can. You are not a slave.

Officer again nodded.

'But remember you both have to be in 2-5 km radius for one month. If not, you both will be bombarded with our calls and notifications and then we will notify the police of that area. No one can save you then from our laws.'

'Awesome.' I was never more enthusiastic in my life than this day.

For one second, officer Brock looked to me like a vampire whose fangs will come out and the end of the pointy fangs will hold a placard saying POMAAC KILLS YOU.

Bloody ass laws of this city.

But before leaving, I will definitely burst a 1000 firecrackers in front of Mayor's castle and if possible I will throw it in his bedroom.

Just hoping that he keeps his windows open.

I was smiling wickedly when Brayden looked at me and whispered, 'don't you dare.'

I know, I know you guys might be planning to kill me since I didn't update last week but believe me guys, I had ton loads of work. I just don't want to update any chapter half-heartedly.
