"I have a huge favour to ask of you, Ji-eunna." He whispered.
"Uh... sure? I'm here to help." I replied unsteadily.
"Will you marry me?"
He asked me seriously, pulling me into his arms.
"What?!" I exclaimed, completely taken aback. "Ma- ma- marry you? How? I mean wh- why?" I fumbled over my own words, looking up at him flummoxed with whatever he'd just spouted at me.
He grinned at me, patiently waiting for it to sink in.
"Y- You want me to be your wife? Just so you can fulfill the last requirement of your father's will?" I blinked up at him, shoving him away.
I can't believe him.
He's being ridiculous. I can't marry him!
He's the CEO.
"I- I can't marry you. You're my boss! It says so in Section 2, paragraph 2b, of the Policy Against Office Relationships." I quoted sagely at him.
I'm his PA, I know the policies by heart.
"You're incorrigible!" He laughed.
"It's so cute how you quote the policies to me in my time of need. I know the policies Ji-eun." He sobered up, looking at me seriously.
"Then pick someone else to be your little trophy wife." I shot back.
"That wouldn't work you know." He smirked at me, his voice was deeper than usual as he whispered in my ear.
He caught me from behind and held me close once more.
There was no shrugging him off.
"I don't see how marrying your PA does anything other than work as a simple convenience for you. I'm not ready for marriage and I'm saving myself." I huffed at him annoyedly, turning to face him in an excuse to shrug him off.
He chuckled darkly at me. But pressed on.
"And why not? You like me, and I like you. We have known each other for five years. Why do you think it wouldn't work?" He asked me charmingly.
"No." I say flatly, crossing my arms over my chest.
'Wait a minute... did he just admit that he likes me?'
'And how did he know I had a crush on him? Because that was a secret I kept even from myself!'
"Oh, come on Ji-eun. Please?" He asked me sweetly, blinking his eyes pleadingly. "It will be fun! The only difference is that we'll be living together... and maybe having a few children together." He added smoothly with that devilish grin he knew made me weak.
"Aegyo is cute on you... but it doesn't mean I'm agreeing with you on this." I say to him, walking away from his desk, but he grabbed hold of my wrist and pulled me close to him.
Why is he being so clingy all of a sudden?
"But I love you." He whispered into my ear.
'He loves me? Since when? I've loved him forever. Surely he'd have noticed.'
I study him in silence for a few seconds. He's never been one to flirt with the staff and he's always annoyed me. I mean he had the nerve to wink at me when he walked in after his little glow up last month.
And he always looks over at me during meetings. Even before I became his PA.
His eyes were shining bright and dilated to the max.
'Min Yoongi really has feelings for me? The office potato?'
"I... I... love you too Yoongi." I stammered, feeling myself turn beet red.
'I can't lie to him.'
'He did just confess his feelings. And I need to be honest with him too.'
"I've always known you do." He said, nuzzling closer. "Look Ji-eun, I know it's sudden. But I need to be married by next week. And I can't marry anyone else here." He pleaded with me.
"So you pick me. The potato of the office, out of convenience?" I say, feeling hurt.
I pushed him away and walked towards the door.
Maybe he likes me. But hastily picking me kind of hurt.
"No." He said, realising his blunder. "I asked you because I've been meaning to for a while now. And I didn't want to confess before all of these things were finalized." He explained in his soothing voice. "I mean it when I say I love you, Ji-eun."
He followed me, pulled me back into his office and shut the door.
Then, he got down on one knee in front of me, and presented me with a breath-taking white gold, diamond ring.
'Is this really happening right now?' I asked myself.
"Lee Ji-eun, will you please be my wife? Now and forever? No matter what comes our way?" He smiled at me with love in his eyes.
I couldn't be upset any longer. I felt my eyes begin to water.
"Yes. I will Yoongi."I smiled at him and he slipped the gold ring onto my finger.
"Perfect fit." He grinned happily. "Just like I thought."
"Since when do you do anything without consulting me?" I asked him, raising an eyebrow at him.
As his PA, I diarise all of his appointments and plan his week. I've been doing so low-key for the last month.
Because he'd approached me one night after hours, asking me to become his PA.
It was before his father had mysteriously passed away.
Yoongi always had plans within plans. I guess I've been busy scheduling meetings and smoothing things over with the media to notice.
He rose to his full height, and pulled me close to him, in a tight embrace.
"There are things I have always kept to myself, up until now Ji-eunna. Like my feelings for you. I know this may seem too good to be true, but I implore you, please, put your trust in me." He whispered to me. "I've already made plans for us to be wed at dawn tomorrow." He said to me, now looking directly at me.
"What about my family? What about our customs?" I sputtered.
His body was pressed so close to mine, it made it hard for me to think straight.
His perfume mesmerized me, clouding my head.
And his eyes...
His coffee coloured eyes made me fall for him all over again.
I stood there, wrapped in his embrace, gazing into his eyes. They begged me to trust him. It made me wonder just what the hell he was doing.
Because the Yoongi I knew would never beg me to trust him. He already knew that I did.
'So what was going on?'
The meeting we'd had today spoke of a merger. Apparently, some foreign company insisted on a merger with us.
"Yes. They want to merge the company through marriage!" He echoed my thoughts.
"But they cannot! It's not possible." I shook my head in disbelief.
"Technically, I'm still a bachelor to them. But Ji-eun, I cannot marry someone I'm not happy with. I refuse to be with anyone who isn't you, my sweet Ji-eunna." He said to me, kissing my hand where he'd slipped the ring on moments ago.
"If that's the case, we need to act fast Yoongi." I look him in the eyes, letting him know he can trust me. "I agree to the marriage." I confirmed.
Yoongi's late father had left a hidden clause in his will. It stated that if Yoongi were to solely run the company, he needed to be wedded before his 31st birthday. But to do so, he'd have to marry a woman of his father's picking.
Only Yoongi knew who his father had picked for him, as the will did not disclose the woman's identity.
Moreover, news of this clause had made waves in the media - which is what had made Min Yoongi the most eligible bachelor in the country. It also explained why most of the unmarried women in the office had desperately tried to win his heart.
'Nice try ladies. He's my fiance now.' I smirked to myself.
It was now my job to protect him, in a way only a wife can. Looks like Mr. Min knew more than he'd let on.
But what on Earth had killed him? Because he was healthy one day, and the next he was gone.
"I'm going to need your help with this. I know my father was murdered Ji-eun." He whispered to me.
"I'll do anything I can Yoongi. Mr. Min was good to me. I will help you, as both your wife and PA."
"We're going to have to play the media at their own game for a little bit. But don't you worry. I have everything planned out. I just need you to be with me throughout the process." He held my hand, gripping it with emotion.
"Just say the word Yoongi." I smiled at him.
And then, for the first time, Yoongi pressed his lips to mine, kissing me softly.

The next morning, I awoke at dawn, washed, dressed and waited for my parents and sister to accompany me to the undisclosed venue that Yoongi had only shared with the driver.
My parents were stunned into silence when they'd realised that their new son-in-law was none other than Min Yoongi, and as a result, they blindly followed his orders.
My sister was the only person who was truly happy for me. Six years my junior, she was excited that I am finally marrying the man I love, even if the actual wedding was a little unorthodox.
We dressed in normal clothing, as instructed by Yoongi, and entered the vehicle which was parked a few doors away from our apartment.
No one paid us any attention.
'Good.' I thought. No one needs to know what's happening.
The cover story, if anyone asked, was that we were going to resolve a family matter in Itaewon.
Which wasn't exactly a lie.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife." The priest claimed to us in front of our five guests.
While the priest had pronounced us as married, Yoongi had mouthed the words: 'I love you' to me.
I felt my heart flutter in my chest.
"Mr. Yoongi, you may now kiss your bride." He smiled at us, standing at the altar, holding hands.
In just over three hours, we were married.
"I love you Ji-eun." He whispered into my ear, then kissed me for the first time as his lawfully wedded wife.
