The Lipstick Returns
" Shh! We don't want mom to wake up!" A hushed, somewhat panicked voice said as you were peacefully asleep.
" But it's on fire! And mommy can use her mommy powers to turn it off!" You heard Niah's voice now too.
It's on fire? They listening to that Bts band?
" You think I can't fix it?" Joon asked, sounding very offended.
Now the smell of something burning caught your nose.
Seems like it's time to get up.
And so you did, however, you sadly had to let your morning routine wait as you smelled something burning.
You jumped out of bed, quickly making your way to the kitchen, only to see your boyfriend creating absolute chaos in the kitchen.
The frying pan on the stone was smoking, and whatever is in it, it was black instead of whatever colour it was supposed to be.
" Joon, what the hell?!" You yelled as you nudged him aside.
Niah wasn't a very good help, the little girl kind of simply screaming at your boyfriend on what he wasn't supposed to do.
You acted quick, turning off the stove and putting the frying pan with content and in the sink, turning on the tap's cold water soon after.
" Open the windows before the smoke alarm goes-" Just as you speak of the devil, the smoke alarm goes off, the sound sharp and annoying when you just woke up.
Joon grinned sheepishly before running about, opening the few windows of the apartment.
" Yeah, daddy! Open the windows! You messed up our breakfast!" Niah yelled after you with an angry pout, moving to stand beside you and crossing her arms over one another.
Rude.
You flicked her ear.
" Don't scold your father like that, Niah. It's rude, leave that up to me." You tell her, before turning around to clean off the frying pan.
She gives a fake gasp as she moves to grasp her ear, turning to look you into your eyes with her puppy eyes and a frown on her lips, wanting to trick you into apologizing.
You're nit even paying attention to her, instead scrubbing away on the frying pan.
Seeing as she doesn't get any attention anyway, she stops her clown show, and instead peeks at your work.
" What are we going to do today?" She asks you, barely looking over the counter.
You smile at her behavior, completely oblivious on her earlier failed tricks.
" Probably nothing. It's raining cats and dogs out." You tell her, motioning with your head to the window.
She pouts, before an idea crossed her mind.
" Oh! When we first met you told me you'd teach me on how to be pretty, can you do that maybe?" She asks you, big doll eyes staring up at you.
Ah right, lipstick.
You hummed.
" Sure, I suppose we can." You tell her.
She smiles, jumping around in excitement.
About an hour later, you've sat her on the counter top of the bathroom, letting her take a pick of what she would like to use to look 'prettier'.
You weren't going to actually use it, of course, so you had taking out your eye liner and mascara products before hand, silently lying to her that they 'hurt' and therefore need to be put away.
The first thing she wanted was eye shadow. The glittery silver one she found in your make up bag at that. And so you did, giving her the pretty silver eyes, yet not bold as you were sure she'd be messing with it sooner or later.
The next thing she wanted was foundation. That's a no, and so you pretended you put some on a brush, and 'smeared' it across her face. She enjoyed it, eyes closing and lips into a pretty baby smile.
Whole the two of you were busy doing her 'make up', Joon came to stand at the bathroom door, simply watching the two of you go about.
The third thing she wanted was blush, you did apply some, but the least as possible as you know that she sits in 600 different ways on the couch, and you didn't want blush everywhere.
The fourth, and final thing, was lipstick. Of course. Except you gave her lip gloss. She wasn't directly sold by the idea of not wearing actual lipstick, but as soon as she saw the sparkles she was sold.
After that, you told her she was done, and she opened her eyes, spotting Joon in the doorway.
" Daddy! Look! Aren't I pretty?" She yelled excitedly, accidentally scaring you.
You turned around to face Join, who had one of those proud dimple smiles on his face.
" You look very pretty, baby cakes." He told her, moving to peck her cheek only to be stopped by her.
" No, no! Don't do that, you'll ruin my make up." She tells him, as you grinned at her words.
He blinked at you, as you shrugged.
" Can't have her make up be ruined, of course." You winked at him.
He chuckled.
" Ah, of course not." He smiled.
The rest of the day flew by, mostly with watching movies, ordering take out, and making home work, helping Niah with her own too.
Unlike the other Baby Project school, Niah was already on the age to learn, and therefore had most of her books here at home. You and Joon didn't really have a problem with it, and Joon was great at explaining.
At the end of the day, you all retreated to bed, you wiping off Niah's make up before hand.
" Daddy, can you read me this story?" She asked him, holding up one of his books to him innocently.
" Uhm, how about I read this one to you?" He suggested, swapping 50 shades of grey to Princess and the frog.
She hummed, not in the slightest bit bothered by the swap. You snorted, why did he even have that here?
Soon after, the three of you got into bed and grew comfortable, you lying down already as Niah laid her head on Joon's chest as he read the book to her.
It didn't take real long for her to fall asleep, easily lulled in halfway through the story by the gentle timbre of his voice.
" She's asleep, isn't she?" Joon asks you softly, careful not to wake the sleeping baby. (Hush, she's a baby to him.)
You hummed, also halfway there.
" Yeah."
Joon grinned as he looked at you, seeing as you were also basically asleep.
He put away his book, gently adjusting his position and joining the two off you into slumber soon after.
" G'night babes."
