Wait for Your Wind
Weep not for this leaf who was part of a clothed tree.
The wind broke this leaf free
so the tree can live.
We are all leaves, blowing
in the wind.
Green, gold, or brown–
waiting for our wind to knock us loose.
Like leaves falling from a tree,
I had to go to keep the fires,
from destroying the forests.
Within the tree you will find shelter.
The long awaited rains will quench
this parched land
and provide comfort with
its softly soothing lullaby.
Wait for your wind,
do not tear away – you are too green.
Your breeze will come
and bring you to me.
