Chapter one

As the two soldiers escorted Germany into the room, he held his head high with a stoic pride. Oh sure, he was more ashamed, mortified, and horrified at himself than he'd ever been in his life. But he had his dignity. And he needed to be strong for Italy. He could hear the brown haired man's whimpers as he followed a few feet behind him. And for Prussia. His older brother. As long as Germany could remember, Prussia had been the strong one, the warrior. He had wanted to make his brother proud, prove he was just as capable as his older brother. He had wanted a war. Well, he'd gotten one. About a year into the war, Prussia had disappeared. Germany was sure he'd fled in horror at Germany's great secret. Germany himself hadn't even know what his Boss was doing until it had been much, much too late. Japan, of course, was still in the hospital. The doctors said he would most likely pull through, but he had been seriously injured by America.

My fault. Something within Germany whispered. It's my fault both he and Italy were hurt. He shoved the self hate aside. He could deal with that later. For they had approached the doors of the courtroom. Germany took a deep breath. One of the guards opened the door, and the other pushed Germany and Italy inside. Germany tried to put a comforting hand on Italy's shoulder, but Italy shied away, whimpering. Germany felt hurt well up inside him. Not too long ago, Italy would have done anything to get Germany's approval. Now... Germany wasn't sure if anyone would ever trust him again.

He surveyed the room. It was split in half by a sheet of what no doubt was bullet proof glass. On the other side were five men. The Allies. All surprisingly quiet and serious, even America. They all looked strained and mad. Like real men of war. That's right idiot. They beat you. Each frowned. Well, except Russia, who was smiling menacingly. Germany suppressed a shudder. That guy was creepy. And in his half of the room. Three chairs. And in the far right one...Prussia.

The albino turned around to smile cocky at them. Germany nodded to him, resisting the urge to run over and hug his brother. He was an adult now. And the Allies were watching. Still, there was something about Prussia that was...different. Prussia had always been kind of scrawny, but he seemed especially thin. There were new scars on his arms and face. He had deep bags under his eyes. "Long time no see, West." Prussia patted the seat next to him. "Glad to see the awesome me?" Germany's lips curled up into a small smile. He and Italy sat down, and Prussia squeezed his hand. "Hey." He whispered. "It's going to be okay." That confused Germany. He had given no sign that he was anxious. It only occurred to him later that Prussia may have been reassuring himself. America coughed, and Germany turned back to the Allies. "Looks like we're ready to begin..." The blonde man started.

Prussia tuned out most of what America was saying. The last few years had been hell for him, but it was finally over. Everything would go back to normal. He looked at America. What a fine young man he'd become. Prussia had helped him gain independence, you know. He had trained him. Now he was a grown up, and strong too. Prussia felt a small amount of pride rise in his chest. He heard America go one. "Prussia, please rise." So it was time he got his punishment. Alright, he wasn't too worried. He had gone through hell and back in his life, there was nothing they could do to hurt him more than he'd been hurt. He'd had a minor role to play in the war, anyway. He stood up.

"With this, I hearby announce, Prßen is officially dissolved." Prussia went into shock, his mind reeling. No. No, this couldn't be happening! Sure, he had been kinda weak in the past few centuries, but he was saving his strength to come back, badder than ever! He searched the Allies for a friendly face. No one. Not even America, who stared at him grimly. As a matter a fact, most of them looked at him in contempt. they saw him as an out of control, hyper boy. A loose cannon. A friendless loser. And they were kind of right. A single tear rolled down his cheek.

Then he started screaming. And screaming. He screamed curses at the five men, who recoiled in shock. He screamed until his throat was sore, and then continued to scream. He picked up his chair and threw it at the glass, where it rebounded harmlessly. "G-guards!" China squeaked. The two men came into the room. They tried to grab Prussia, but he welcomed the attack. He punched one in the jaw. All he could see through his tears and anger and sadness and shock was red. The other guard grabbed his arms, and he continued to yell and kick at them. The guard who he'd punched grabbed a syringe from his bag, and injected it into Prussia's neck. Prussia found his vision blurring, and his limbs stop responding to his brain. Crap. A sedative. As they dragged him from the room, he saw his brothers frightened face. I'm sorry, west. He thought. And the last thing before he went unconscious: please forgive me, Old Man Fritz. I have failed you...
