Free falling, a lot.

'Cause I'm free, free falling.

No really, I am.

Everything rushes by in a slow blur, making my hair billow in front of my eyes, dancing as if it were seaweed. And all I can do is fall.

My legs are wiggling about, attempting to stay steady but horribly failing. My arms frantically flailing as if there's a yellow cab that gives rides to falling Anomalies. And you know what I'm doing in my slowed experiment in testing gravity? I'm enjoying the fall. In those moments I look around in the paused setting and see the world from another angel, literally I'm upside down. I realize that my life is such a small speck. Right there I'm falling, two blocks away somebody is playing a game, below is a crowd that is having the experience of watching two unheard of Anomalies fight, and not to far away someone is finding there love of there life. In what I thought were my last few moments, I see that humanity is truly astounding and complicated and phenomenal, and worth protecting.

Maybe the idea of becoming a hero isn't so bad of an idea, I  inquire.

But before I could entertain the thought, my head makes contact with the sidewalk.

My vision is darkened. I'm unable to move my body, almost like I'm stuck in some sort of trance. And I can vaguely make out muffled screams and a "Get back, she may be an Anomaly!"

I hear the jets of Corrosion above me and land at the tip of my head, and he yells "I am Corrosion! And this is Catalyst!" In a disturbing, almost heartless way while kicking me at the words of Catalyst.

He did not just name me.

"She set herself on a podium, protecting this pathetic city but only at night. To cowardly to show herself in the light of day." He laughs, "she thought she was a match for me. You see, she put a damper on my plans for this city, a temporary stop really." As he's talking he emphasizes certain words like she, protecting, this, city, match, me, you, put, damper, plans, temporary.

No. No. No no no no no no. No.  I am not fighting him.

"So watch as I destroy this want to be heroine, and I'll spare you for now."

At the end of these words, I feel a tug on my collar of my jacket and my blood shoot to my legs as my body is pulled up ward. "Hey, wake up. Wake up already." Suddenly I feel a numbing pain on my cheek.

That woke me up. A tsunami of anger stormed throughout my body.

I force my eyes open, infuriated that he slapped me. As soon as my eyes shot open, he had the look of pure horror in his eyes and dropped me...again.

This time I react, now caring to not fall again. Striving to keep my shaking hands to a minimum, I place them at my side and shoot liquid nitrogen at my feet and palms. Sadly, I didn't think of the obvious that I was falling at a slight angle, instead of going up, I went sideways full blast into an office building.

I fracture the glass, rupturing it into shatters. Sailing through the glass, and into the building. Before I could stop the jets, I slammed right into some random dude in a suit. Sending us both to the ground and covering us in hot coffee and papers.

Without wanting to stay there for much longer for the fear of even more embarrassment. I ran to the broken window and slowly, very carefully, took off. As I flew up towards the direction of where I last saw Corrosion, I see him laughing incredibly hard, so much so that he was barley staying in the air, and that his guard is down. I get as close to him as I can without him being able to here me. I aim my arm towards him, and shoot half solid iron his way.

Successfully I hit him dead in the chest and sent him spiraling into a bill board then rag dolling down to the roof of some rocky five story high building.

Ha, in you're face.

I fly over and land at his feet.

"So you want to fight? Why? What's your plan? Why make me the hero, why not you?" I asked, a little to desperately for my liking, to my dismay it came out to more of a plea.

"There's not a lot of time to explain, but trust me. Let's just make this look like a real fight for the next few minutes, I defeat you and make it look like your dead, then I fly off with you to the warehouse. Okay?

Before he gave me more time to process this information, he blasted me in the face, flinging me  threw the air, off the building, and onto the road. I land in a tumble, rolling backwards, and giving my road burn along my face and down my back.

The stinging ceased a few seconds later, allowing me the attention I need to actually look at my surroundings. A crowd of people are now forming along the sidewalk, most with there phones out and staying a cautious distance away.

Smart people.

I hear the obnoxious voice of Corrosion shout, "Are you trying to make your death fast? If so, where's the fun in that?!" I look up and see he's leaning over the edge of the building. In frustration I point my hand in his general direction and shoot carbon.

Hey, he's usually able to dodge my blows.

That, and I'll be lying if I didn't say I want to give him a few slices on his arms and face. With that notion, I fly up and approach the idiot. "Okay, what now?" I ask.

"We wait till the helicopter is here." He looks up at the sky and smirks, "It's here."

"Okay now what-" He shot my in the face.

Gross.

"You let me win." He says with to much smugness in these words.

This can't be good for his ego.

"So basically beat me until I look half dead." I replied.

"Yes."

"Remind me again, why should I trust you, a villain?" I ask, now regretting playing along without reason except for the promise of answers.

"You didn't have problem with that much before. And I'm not a villain." With no warning he shot me in the chest, almost knocking me down.  Then again in the gut, this time knocking me down. As I got up to recover, he grabbed my face and forced it into his moving knee. A sickening crack echoed through my skull from this.

"Please don't-" Not paying attention to what I'm saying he shot another blast into my back, propelling me into the rocks beneath me.

I don't know if it was my head injuries or my imagination, but I heard the slightest whisper of, "I'm sorry." He then kicked me in the stomach and grabbed my leg, dragging me to the edge.

What is with him and throwing me off buildings?

When we were just a few yards from the ledge he shot me in the chest with a consistent blast until I was hurtling towards the road and onto a hood of a red Subaru.

The car came to a sudden stop, sending me spiraling into the asphalt.

I don't know when he got to me but he picked me up by the collar once again and started shouting words that only sounded like muffles. My eyes refused to fully open, to where I can only squint, but I can make out blurs of people and my surroundings. Once the muffles stopped, we jolted into the air, and away to what I could only assume is the warehouse. I wouldn't know because right after he lifted us into the air, I closed my eyes, and for some reason, I decided it was a time to sleep right there and then.
