"Look at her, she's nothing special" Bucky said to Clint.
"I don't know, she's kinda cute, in a geeky way" Clint replied.
Bucky scoffed. "She's nothing special."
"She's not terrible at fighting" Sam informed him.
A chuckle escaped Bucky's mouth. "Oh I've seen her fight. She is."
The person they were talking about was Mindy.
She was extremely insecure about her looks. She believed she was fat and ugly.
She walked in the room to see Clint, Bucky and Sam.
"Hi guys" she greeted. "Hello." "Hey."
"Have you seen Nat anywhere? We were meant to train, but she's not here" Mindy told them.
"I have not seen her or Steve all day" Clint confessed as he and Sam smirked.
"Oh great, I guess I'll go running or something. See ya" she waved at them before she left.
"Look at what she was wearing. She doesn't have the body for that sort of thing" Bucky said.
He was unaware that Mindy heard what he said.
The Next day at dinner no one saw Mindy.
The worst thing was, no one even knew she was missing.
"God this food is wonderful" Clint mumbled with food in his mouth.
"Cover your mouth" Nat told him. "Mm okay" he mumbled out.
"Has anyone seen Mindy" Steve asked, finally realising the girl was missing.
"It's not hard to see her. She takes up two seats" Tony said making Sam chuckle.
Mindy was just about to enter the room when she heard Tony speak. She heard Sam chuckle.
She slowly backed away with tears in her eyes.
Maybe Tony was right. Maybe she needed to lose some weight.
One week went by and Mindy was changing. She was growing weak.
She was in the gym with Nat training. Nat pinned her down easily.
"Geez Mindy, what the hell is happening. That was too easy" Nat said.
"Nothing, just not my day I guess" Mindy lied as she got up slowly.
"Are you okay" Nat asked. "Yeah I'm fine, just tired" Mindy lied.
"Maybe she hasn't eaten enough. I'm guessing all the cookies and chocolate aren't helping" Sam teased.
Mindy fought heard to keep tears from falling down her face.
"Are you over eating? That can cause stuff like this to happen" Nat said.
Mindy run out of the gym, tears running down her face.
No one stopped to see if she was okay. No one cared.
Another week passed by.
The Avengers were going on a mission. Steve, Nat, Sam and Mindy.
"Right you know the plan. Nat, you and Mindy will get the information, Sam and I will stand guard" Steve said.
"Got it Captain" Nat replied.
Mindy didn't get to open her mouth to say she understood too. Steve didn't care, no one cared.
The mission didn't go well. It was all Mindy's fault, at least in Steve's eyes.
Mindy took a bullet to her side defending Nat. Nat was fighting two men and another tried to shoot her. Mindy took the bullet before shooting the man.
They were currently in the Quinjet.
Steve was quiet. He was ready to snap.
"I'm-"
"Don't even think of saying your sorry" Steve snapped making Mindy put her head down.
"We were lucky we got out. Lucky Nat saved you" Steve hissed out.
"But-"
"If Widow didn't turn around you'd be dead. You owe her your life" his voice was raising now.
"We-"
"You're useless. Why did I even want you on this team" Steve thought out loud.
The second the Quinjet landed Mindy ran to her room, not even getting her bullet wound checked.
Mindy sat in her room staring at her reflection.
She was nothing special.
She was ugly.
She was fat.
She was useless.
They were right. She wasn't worthy of being an Avenger. She wasn't worthy of anything.
She went in her drawer and got out a razor.
A deep sigh escaped her mouth as she started to cut her arms and then her wrists.
Steve was sitting down. He just had his wounds checked and cleaned.
He felt terrible after what he said to Mindy.
He was angry that Nat was hurt. He was unaware that Mindy saved her.
"I'm going to check on Mindy" Steve told Nat. "Okay."
Steve made his way to Mindy's room. He knocked on the door and got no answer.
"Mindy it's Steve, open the door" he asked.
He still got no answer.
"Please Mindy, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so harsh" he told her.
He still got no answer.
A sigh escaped his mouth as he pushed the door open. It was unlocked, which was strange.
He walked in and he was shocked at what he saw.
"MINDY" he screamed out.
Clint and Sam ran in the room. They were shocked.
There, Mindy laid in a puddle of her blood.
Clint ran over and checked her pulse.
"She's dead."
One week later there was a funeral held for Mindy.
Many, many people gathered around to show their respect.
The Avengers felt terrible. It was all their fault. She killed herself because of them.
It was unfair that she died so young.
It was unfair the way they treated her.
It was unfair that she felt she had no option but to die.
Everything That Happened To Her Was Unfair.
. . . .
I'm Sorry This is so sad. I was crying writing this. I didn't want everything to be pure Fluff.
