"Can you at least tell me who Malaika is? "

"No... Shut up... I'm not gonna tell"

"Please........! "

"I said no"

I narrow my eyes at the small cute spirit, "fine. At least tell me your name.. "

It makes a grumbling noise and says, "Po"

"That's so cute!! " I coo.

No idea where we were. Some road, in some suburb. There wasn't any one out. The houses were quiet and the street lights were just a glow. I didn't have a destination. Didn't know where this destination was.

"You are nothing like avatar Korra"

"Oh I've heard.. " I rolled my eyes. What?! I'm tired of hearing that. Can't I just be me.

"She was the best"

I stopped and stared up at the Po, "You knew her?"

"All spirits knew avatar Korra, she was the avatar! "

I sighed loudly, " Why are spirits possessing humans? " Changing the subject.

"Obviously because we're angry that the portals are closed"

"I mean-" I hesitated, he wouldn't answer anyway, I wanted to ask him how or why they closed " But why posses? "

His reply would make my skin crawl.

"They don't want us in their homes, or their world. Humans are soft. Made of skin and blood. It would be so easy to tear them apart"

I gulped, "Not all humans are bad"

"No not all, but most are"

"How can I help? "

"Fine...it is a must, we need to visit the portal vines"

"You mean avatar Korra park? " I perked an eyebrow.

"No, the source of avatar Korra park"

I yawned out loud.

"We could stop, if you'd like? " Po said. But I brushed him off with a shake of the head.

"Are you sure? "

"If I sleep now, I'll wake two days later. I think it's best if we try to save the world now" I shrugged and we kept walking.

We eventually made it out the neighborhood. We were in a small avenue. To be specific, an abandoned avenue.

We kept walking untill we made it to the opening.

It was quiet and eerie. I loved it.

I love how one place can be filled with so much life, and yet be so peaceful. I would never have imagined people being scared of this place.

Unlike Avatar Korra Park, this place was vast. Open and wide, filled with nature, vines crawling and creeping. I could live here forever.

A whooshing sound catchs my attention. I twist and turn, looking for the source.

Po was acting up, he flinched and growled, eyes turning red.

"Whoa whoa, calm down. It could just be-" When I walked around the vines, the sight of a fire bender, shooting flames at the vines made me freeze. He wasn't just any fire Bender.

"Lee, what are you doing?! " I yelled, running over to him.

He stopped and turned to me, fear written all over his face, "what- what are you doing here? "

"What do you mean? " I creep over the vines to him.

"You're not supposed to be here. They'll take you too" He moves towards me, eyebrows furrowed, face pale. He was bruised.

"No, they won't hurt me. " I don't know why i said that, " I just, uh I need to open this portalm"

"You need to get out of here now" His voice rushed out of him. I could tell he didn't want me here.

"No, I won't leave. I don't really know what's happening, but I do know that I came all the way here to help out so that's what I'm going to do" I said calmly.

He grunts, looking here and there at thin air.

"I don't know if this'll works, but let me just see what's going on" I sighed and walked onwards into the vines.

I'm pulled back by my hands, "don't go" His eyes were filled with worry. I wanted to hug him and tell him it was going to be ok. But I didn't know if it was.

"We didn't come all this way for you to tell her she can't! " I heard Po yell. Lee, startled looses his hold on my hand and turns to the sound. I took it as my chance, pulling away and running towards the vine.

I jumped, into the big empty circle and nothing happened. I was still here, still me and still an idiot.

"Po! I guess it's plan-! " Everything turns white.

Am I finally dead?! Finally I won't be the avatar anymore and It can pass on to some random fire Bender.

Wait can you think when you're dead. Ugh, I'm tired of being teleported by magical plants.

I peeled my eyes open. I was-

In a Jungle?

"Hello!! " I yelled. It was an actual jungle, with vines and trees and weird jungle critter noises.

"Avatar" A voice said, it was the voice of a woman. Her voice was loud and full and so familiar.

I was currently standing on a plant, that had big leaves and a strong stalk.

"Umm are you talking about me" I called out again.

"Yes you" 

"Really? "

"Avatar Kaira welcome back, welcome home"

"Uhhh"

Yes I was having a conversation with a weird invisible jungle lady.

"What do you mean home? "

"My darling this is where you were born"

"Huh"

A figure seemed to rise up from the earth. A hooded figure.

"Who are you? " I asked, stepping back. Wrong move, my feet slipped, on whatever was behind me, causing me to fall to my butt.

"You can call me Daya" She says, I wasn't able to see her face because of the hood. It was so dark.

"Are you a spirit? " I asked, standing.

"I am like you"

"What?....wait...You're also an Avatar?! "

Her laughter filled the jungle, loud and clear, "no I am not. I'm what you'd call a spirit keeper. I keep the peace among spirits"

"So.... I'm..... I'm in the spirit world?!! "

She chuckles, "try bending these vines"

I put my hand out to the vines, they didn't move. And then I knew I wasn't in the human world.

"How? Why am I here? " Then something in me clicked, "are there other humans here? "

"They, they are... They can't go back, just as spirits can't come back"

"Then how did all this start? "  I just want a straight answer for once.

"It was an evil spirit, her name is Malaika"

I flinched. Malaika, the person Po was talking about.

"How was she able to open the portals? " My eyes widened.

"She's also a spirit keeper, she keeps the peace among spirits in the human world, while I keep the peace here between  the human and spirits here. She..." Daya shoom her head.

I turned my head and furrowed my brows at the her, "what is it? "

"Your mother, was just like me, a spirit keeper, she was human, but she loved spirits like family. She lived most of her life in here. Malaika didn't like that, having a human as part of our world. She hated her. Her hatred grew, when she learned that you were the avatar. So she did what she had to do, she hid your results and....she killed your mother"

My chest tightend. I couldn't hold the pain. My mother.... Was a what?
This makes more sense than I'd want it to.

"We need to stop her, she has been influenced by the darkness" Daya said.

"How do I get out of here? " I let out a deep breath.

"You got yourself here, while the portals were closed. That's up to you"

"Nevermind then. Could you take me to the humans, then maybe I'll figure a way out" I asked quietly walking foward.

Never trust the spirit world, if you ever get the chance to visit. I fell again.

I was falling, past more vines and weird creatures. It happened so fast, before I knew it, I was on my face against the leaf covered ground.

While I was falling, Daya was gracefully floating down from the tree tops.

"Can we go now? " I groaned standing.

"Follow me"

I swear writing is hard. U gotta make everything connect, and then you gotta twists things a little and you gotta do this and think about it. Dude I feel drained.

I wanna go back to normal school!! 😭
