Chapter Six: The Returned Blonde
It's been a few months since I saw the Winchester's last, or even had any contacted with them. Their last message will the next day that I went. It was Dean who phoned me, but I didn't pick up and let it go straight to voice mail, and hadn't even listen what he had to say. I was too busy, tracking my grimoire down, getting it back with ease, with my Moon Child bag. Luckily, everything was still inside it. At least something was going right.
I was currently working a case in Philadelphia, over the past eighty years six women have vanished from the same building that they were living in, all young blondes. With my luck, I'm a young Immortal blonde for the taking, so I was the perfect bait.
I enter the apartment building, a black duffel bag over my shoulder, and my Witch stuff in my duffel also. I walked over to the main desk in the building seeing the landlord standing behind, holding some cash in his hands, counting it.
I stopped in front of the desk. "Hey, I heard that your building is currently renting an apartment. I was wondering if I could rent it out?" I asked, as I gave him a wide smile. He stopped counting the money, and looked at me, his eyes slightly going wide, while they searched my top half of my body.
"Sorry little Miss, It's being rented out already," he states. That couldn't be good, I gave him a smile, before dropping my bag onto the floor. Placing my arms on the desk as he watches, my breasts pushing together, as the top I was wearing was low cut. Soon enough my breasts were together, making a full cleavage show for him to admire. I gave him a sexy smirk, I could feel his eyes upon them, my eyes glancing to his.
"Now, who rented the apartment," I asked sweetly through compulsion, I could feel my iris's go large then get small as the words left my mouth.
"A blonde girl, with her boyfriend and his buddy," he replied softly.
"And what were their names," I whispered seductively, leaning closer over the desk, but not breaking eye contact with him.
"Her name was Jo, and her boyfriend name was Dean and his buddy Sam," as he said both their names, I froze. I started to pull back, I hadn't seem them for nearly a month. Didn't sound long, but I didn't wanna see them right now. But if they needed help, I couldn't just leave them. I had to put my feelings aside and get on with the case.
I stopped leaning and looked directly at him. "Now say 'Feel free to enter the apartments.'"
"Feel free to enter the apartments," he replied monotone.
"Forget that I came in here and asked about that apartment," I said, picking up my bags, and heading off to the apartment.
After I went up to the level, I found my way to the apartment. My super hearing picked up a women's voice in the apartment. I stood at the door, taking in a big gust of air and letting it back out, as I swiftly knocked on the door. I could hear them all suddenly stop what they were doing. The heart's beating steadily, as the looked at the door.
Moment's later, I knocked on the door again letting them know I was still here, and that's when I heard soft footsteps creep towards the door. Just then, the door cracked up a little to reveal a blonde girl, who looked up and down my body.
"May I help you?" She asked, holding the door close to her waist, so I wouldn't see fully into the room.
"The replaced me already, good to know," I rolled my eyes, as she looked slightly shocked that I said those words. I could hear both their footsteps come over to the door, the door ripping open to see Dean and Sam staring at me with a wide eyed look.
"Hello boys," I state with a smirk, swaying my hips into the room, as it was rented their name wasn't on the whole building the landlord was, and I got permission from him to enter the apartments.
"Gabby," Sam said stunned, both of them shocked to see me here of all places.
I put my index finger up to them both, as Jo shuts the door. "Firstly, how the hell did you know what case I was taking. Have you been tracking me or something?" I dropped my finger as the words were spoken.
"Don't flatter yourself love," Dean replied with a annoyed tone. "We are not the one's who ditched," his words took me back, but I quickly recomposed myself.
"Ok, I didn't ditch you, I left for a reason and--"
But before I could finish Sam cut in. "We can talk about this later guys, we all have a case to solve..." Sam announces, before looking directly at me. "Will you help us Gabby?" His puppy dog eyes were on me.
Stay strong woman! Stay strong!
But I couldn't.
"Sure, I wanna get this evil bitch before it get's another girl," I said truthful, this is what I've done over a millennia. Fight evil so the world could be a safer place, even at night. However, I couldn't do anything about the normal evil that were out in the world, mortal's are their own worst enemies.
"Ok back too it...This place was built in 1924. It was originally a warehouse, converted into apartments a few months ago," Jo had stated, as she sat on a chair with a knife in her hand, twirling it around. I placed my duffel onto the floor next to the table.
"Yeah? What was here before 1924," Dean has asked Jo, but before she could reply I butted in.
"Nothing. Empty field," I replied while taking a seat on the table that held blueprints and other records.
"So, most likely scenario, someone died bloody in the building, and no he's back and raising hell," Sam added. How I missed Sam's voice, and know I hadn't seem them for weeks but still.
"I already checked. In the past eighty two years, zero violent deaths. Unless you count a janitor who slipped on a wet floor," Jo replied, as she still twirled that knife. But something seemed to annoy her at this moment in time. "Would you sit down, please?" She asks looking over her shoulder to Dean, as he was pacing behind her.
"So, have you checked police reports, county death records..." Dean asks while sitting on the end chair that was near the table.
"Obituaries, mortuary reports and seven other sources. I know what I'm doing," Jo answered snappily at Dean.
"I think the jury's still out on that one..." Dean states as he looks to Jo then to Sam for a split second, not even looking at me. What's his problem. "Could you put the knife down?" Dean asked Jo as she stopped twirling the knife and place it on the table.
"Ok! So, uh, it's something else, then. Maybe some kind of cursed object that brought a spirit with it," Sam announced to us.
"Well, we've got to scan the whole building now. Everywhere we can get to, right?" I state as I stood from my position on the table, looking over the three of them.
"Right. So, You and me, we'll take the top two floor," Dean replied as he looked to Jo with that request or was it a demand.
"We'd move faster if we split up," Jo argued back at Dean, who wasn't taking the bait.
"Oh, this isn't negotiable," Dean added, as he gathers some EMF devices from his bag, handing one to Jo, and them both leaving. So that left Sam and I do the bottom floors, and work up.
.....................................
Sam and I walk through the hallway of a floor, quietly neither one of us getting the urge to speak to one another, as the EMF were quite and picking nothing up. I stop to turn around to see Sam hovering the EMF device on a wall to check if there was any readings.
"Can we talk for a moment?" I asked, as I pulled him from his thoughts, as his eyes glance over to mine.
"Sure," he replied automatically like he was eager to answer, I look at him weirdly before moving on.
"I left for a reason Sam, I couldn't..." I sighed thinking of the past "I went because I needed some distance from you both," the slight truth came out, I did need some distance from them, but I really needed distance for myself. But even that proved difficult. We stopped as he stared at me.
"We needed you at the most important time in our lives and you ran off, and we don't hear from you for months and now you show up out of the blue, where we are on the same case. Doesn't that mean anything to you?" He states looking straight into my eyes.
"No it doesn't," I stated harshly before wondering off down the hallway, disappearing from his sights.
But deep down it did mean something to me, maybe it's the universe calling. Pulling me back to the Winchester men...
