Chapter 1:The Shore

I saw nothing. I couldn't open my eyes. The sounds of the waves told me I was on a beach. I. Who was I? I heard someone running towards me, I tried to move, but to no avail.

"Young lady, can you speak?" A male's voice called out. My mouth couldn't move. "Can you speak?" He asked again. After five seconds, I heard him drop down and feel my neck. "You have a pulse, you're alive..." He got up. I heard him reach for his phone and the ringing. "Hello? Yes, I'm at the beach, near the cafe. I found a girl about-" He paused, I assume to look at me. "About 17. Yes, she has a pulse. No, unresponsive. Okay thank you. I'll meet them there. Thank you, goodbye." He hung up.

"Alright miss, help is coming." He paused. "I'm going to pick you up, please say something if you can." He dropped down again, and I felt him lift me. He lifted me with ease, to my unconscious surprise. We moved father over the beach. "We're almost there, just hold on." The sounds of a blaring siren approached. I heard a new male voice, somewhat younger.

"Is this the girl?" The young paramedic, I assume once again, said.

"Yes, here let me help you." The first man said. I was lifted onto a cold metal bed, and heard the doors close.

"You'll be better soon." The paramedic said, before I was totally unconscious. I woke back up in a bland beige and white room. There was a tube in my arm, and a male nurse was sitting next to me.

"Oh, you're awake! Can you talk?" He said, staring intensely at me.

"Yes," I croaked. "I think so." I fell into a coughing fit. He instantly rushed over to me and made sure I was stable and okay.

"Easy, don't strain yourself. Why don't you go to the restrooms, take this cup as well." He handed me a plastic cup with measurements on the side. I nodded and slid off the bed. My legs wobbled, as the nurse took my arm and guided me to the bathrooms. "You got this, just breathe." My legs slowly were starting to stiffen back into shape. We got to the bathrooms and he let go. I caught myself on the door. "Easy, are you going to be alright?" I nodded again. He opened the door and I walked in. Before he closed it, he said; "I'll be waiting out here, knock, or call out, or something, if you need help." With that, I was alone. The bathroom was nice enough. After doing what I was told, I walked out. As soon as I did, there was a woman talking with my nurse. When I came out, they looked at me, and the woman spoke.

"There's our red-head!" She was referring to my orange hair. "So, how are you doing, Michael here says that you can speak, just barely."

"I can." I responded, less hoarsely than before. "Where am I?"

"You're in the St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach, California." She replied.

"A man found you in the water, unresponsive. Can you tell us what you remember?" I tried to remember. All I could remember was my name and-

"Where is my pendant?!" I said as loud as I could. They looked at each other. Then came to a conclusion.

"Oh, yes, we have it. It's safely in your room. Don't worry." Michael the nurse replied. "It's very beautiful." He then remembered something. "Oh yes, what is your name?"

"My name? My name is Andromeda." I answered.
