Chapter Seven

The asylum was quiet, almost every light being turned off. The wind howled slightly, tree branches swaying as their leaves rustled. It was peaceful, which wasn't yet norm for such a horrendous place. Everyone slept comfortably...say for the two demons that were crammed in the bathroom together.

Anti had closed the toilet lid, sitting on it while Dark stand in the shower with his arms crossed. He watched as his green–haired boyfriend pulled a key out of his sock, holding it up. He examined it, Dark biting his lip. This would be the literal key to their freedom. Anti blinked, locking his eyes with Dark's. "I'll unlock mine first. I don't want it to zap you or something," he whispered. Despite the bathroom having no cameras or anything of the sort, he still didn't want to risk being heard. Dark tensed at his words, eyes widening slightly. Was he serious?
"But then it'll shock you," he whispered back, standing straight. He obviously wasn't willing to allow the one he loved so much to get hurt. "That's the point," Anti responded, seeming too calm about it for Dark's liking. Before Dark could protest, Anti had already put the key into the shock collar. He squeezed his eyes shut, biting his lip nervously as he slowly managed to turn the key. Despite seeming calm about it, Anti was terrified about getting hurt. A soft beep filled the room, causing both men to jump as a clicking noise came afterwards. The tightness on Anti's neck was suddenly gone, the collar falling slightly against him. It worked.
Anti let out a shaky breath, small smile forming on his face. No longer was he stuck with a device that caused nothing but pain. He looked up at Dark, seeing the shocked expression on his face. He stood from where he sat, approaching his boyfriend as he pulled the key out of his collar. Dark began to felt emotional as he tilted his head up so Anti could unlock his collar. Was he really about to be free? He braced himself as Anti cupped his head slightly to hold him still, Dark shutting his eyes nervously. Just like before, a soft beep filled his ears followed by the same clicking. Dark's eyes shot open as he felt the collar fall loose against his skin, tears beginning to sting his eyes. Anti quickly took the collar, latching it along with his own. They didn't know if the trackers turned off when they were unlocked, so he didn't want to take any chances. "C'mon," he whispered, quickly taking Dark's hand and hurrying out into the main room. The lights were off, allowing Dark and Anti to think that the camera couldn't see them. Oh how they couldn't be more wrong.

The security guard leaned back in his computer chair, fingers gripping the newspaper before him. His cold blue eyes scanned over the words on it, flipping the page after a moment. It wasn't very interesting, but he had nothing better to do. He just so happened to glance up at the cameras, looking over most of them. Every demon on screen was either sleeping, sitting in darkness, or getting a bit intimate with their cell mates. The guard cringed slightly, unsure of how they were comfortable with doing their sinful deeds in front of cameras. Just as he was about to look back down at his newspaper, he froze. There, on the screen, he saw a demon with pale green hair gripping the bars to the window. A vibrant green light came from beneath his palms, the bars turning to liquid within seconds. He did this with all of the bars befor slipping out of the window, his cell mate following suit. The room was now empty, causing panic to rise in the male. He sprung up out of his seat, throwing his newspaper to the side as he looked over the control panel. He raised a hand, slamming it down on a big blue button.

Sirens filled the air, causing both Anti and Dark to tense. Nearly a second later, lights flashed on all around them. Anti's eyes widened, quickly grabbing Dark's wrist and beginning to run. Dark began to feel light headed, body fueled with adrenaline as he and Anti ran like their lives depended on it. Well....they kinda did. It was now or never. Either escape and be free after years, or be caught and thrown back into the asylum. If it was the latter, they'd probably face harsher treatment and punishments than before. It was a big risk they were most certainly willing to take. Their chests heaved as they ran, ignoring the shouts and demands to come back. Everything felt slow despite how fast they ran. Anti could barely hear the shouting, heart beating so loudly in his ears that it was practically the only thing he could hear. He gripped Dark's wrist tightly, screwing his eyes shut as he tried to concentrate. He needed to get them out of there now. If they continued to just run, they would surely be caught.
A guard raised his gun, aiming it at the two that had escaped. He aimed, holding his breath as he quickly pulled the trigger. As the bullet flew towards them, it seemed as though some sort of glitching effect surrounded them. Just like that, they had disappeared.

"Gah– fUck!" Anti shouted as he collided harshly with the forest ground, screwing his eyes shut in pain as he gritted his teeth slightly. Dark let out a soft groan as he hit the ground, leaves crunching beneath him. It took him a moment to process that the sirens has suddenly stopped, causing him to quickly sit up and look around. They were deep in a forest, wind blowing against them softly. Anti's pained groans filled Dark's ears, snapping his head in his direction. He saw how Anti was gripping his arm, curled up slightly in pain as his crimson colored blood seeped through his fingers. Dark's eyes widened twice their size, quickly moving closer to his injured love. "Oh my God– are you okay?!" He asked, voice alarmed as he quickly but gently grabbed Anti's uninjured arm. Anti adjusted slightly so Dark could see, tears of pain being in his eyes as his gunshot wound throbbed with pain. Dark quickly looked around in a panic before grabbing the end of his shirt, tearing a good sized piece off. "Here– let me see it," he said softly, placing a hand on Anti's wrist so that he could remove his hand. Anti hesitantly did so, hissing loudly as he felt the air stinging his injury. Dark felt a lump in his throat as he quickly tied the cloth around the wound. It wasn't tight enough to cut off circulation, but it was tight enough to prevent Anti from bleeding out. "That should hold it until we find a first aid kit," he said shakily, Anti taking a deep and shaky breath before nodding. Dark helped Anti get up carefully, the male stumbling as he looked around the forest. "...Not entirely where I expected to go, but I'm not complaining," he admitted, earning a small chuckle from Dark. "Are you sure you're okay...? I don't know how far we are from any house," Dark asked with concern in his voice, Anti looking at him. He hasn't noticed until now, but he was actually starting to get a bit taller than Dark.
"I'll be fine. It hurts like a bitch, but septics heal faster than usual," Anti reassured, placing a kiss on Dark's temple. Dark couldn't help but smile, nodding as he gently took Anti's hand. "Let's go, we might be able to find a cabin or something," he spoke, Anti nodding as the two began to walk.

A soft hum left the blonde haired woman as she turned the kitchen sink off, gently shaking the water off of her hands after she placed the last plate in the dish rack. As she turned to shut the lights off, she heard a loud crash from upstairs. A few seconds later, a loud thump. She looked at the stairs leading up to her bedroom, tensing slightly. "Henry?" She called out, referring to her husband. She got no response, causing her fear to rise as she quickly hurried up the stairs.
As she stood in the doorway to her room, she could see her husband's legs on the floor. They were twitching slightly, a soft gurgling noise coming from where he was. Rushing over, she didn't expect to see what she did. On the floor was her husband, who had multiple stab wounds in his stomach. Blood was spurting out of his mouth, his bloodshot eyes staring at his wife. Her eyes widened in horror, a scream building up inside of her. Just before she could let it out, a hand clamped over her mouth as an arm wrapped around her throat. Her back came into contact with another body, screaming into the hand as she began to claw at their arm. The person backed up, her screams not stopping as a male with black hair stood before her. He had blood splattered over his white tank top and black sweat pants, gripping a bloodied knife tightly as he grew near.

Anti and Dark tossed the two bodies in the basement, whimpers leaving the male that they had bounded to a chair. He seemed to be in his early twenties, tears streaming down his face as his mortified eyes stared at the corpses of his parents. Anti huffed slightly, turning towards the male. He slowly approached him, causing the him to freeze in terror. He bent over slightly, resting one hand on his knee as the other grabbed the duct tape that covered his mouth. He yanked it off quickly, causing him to winded in pain. "Where's the first aid kit?" Anti asked in a low tone, eyes staring coldly into the male's hazel ones. He gulped before muttering a quiet "k–k–kitchen cabinet". Anti grinned softly, replying with a soft "Thank you". Just as he was about to put the tape back, he looked at the male's hair. It was  faded, buy it was a mixture of bright pink and pale blue. Anti narrowed his eyes, grin turning into a smirk. He reached up, tugging on a strand of his hair. "Got anymore hair dye?" He asked, the male quickly nodding. "U–Under the b–bathroom s–s–sink." Anti nodded, placing the tape back over his mouth.
