Chapter Four
(This is placed four years into the future. Anti and Dark are both 23.)
Anti let out a sigh as he stepped out of the bathroom, rubbing his towel against his wet green locks. His clothing consisted of a black tank top and gray sweatpants, the shirt outlining his masculine figure nicely. As he dried his hair, he heard a wolf whistle. He looked in the direction of the whistle, seeing Dark. He was laying on his bed so that his head hung off of it, his black locks uncovering his face. "Damn, you might make me commit another sin," Dark joked, causing Anti to roll his eyes as he snickered. "Might? So you're saying I'm not trying hard enough?" Anti asked, walking over to his bed. Dark laughed slightly, sitting upright. He turned so his body faced Anti, hugging his knees to his chest. "I put your food on your bed," he spoke, Anti looking over at it. He hadn't noticed the tray of food on his bed, being thankful that Dark said something. He had nearly sat down without knowing.
"Oh, thanks," Anti replied, Dark humming a response. He sat down beside the tray, picking it up and looking at it's contents. It was a regular ham sandwich, accompanied by a fruit cup and a box of apple juice. There was also a bottle of water, which the 'therapists' provided every two hours. They couldn't let their miserable test subjects dehydrate. "Better than yesterday..," Anti mumbled, beginning to eat. After so long, this small meal was considered a delicacy to Anti. It was a million times better than the horrible beef stew they'd serve, or the so called 'sloppy Joe's'. It was more like two pieces of bread with 70% sauce topped off with scraps of leftover pork.
Once Anti scarfed down his sandwich, he grabbed his juice box. Reading the straw off of the box, he stabbed it into the top. "So, what's on the agenda today?" Anti asked with mock enthusiasm, sipping his sweet drink. Dark just simply shrugged, tilting his head back slightly. "I was trying to eavesdrop earlier, see if anything exciting was happening. But I think they knew I was by the door," Dark responded. "I got a random shock, and they walked away." Anti immediately tensed, looking up at Dark. He pulled the straw from his mouth, eyes widening a tad in terror for his friend. "They fucking shocked you?" Anti asked, furrowing his brows. Dark nodded, biting his lip slightly. "I'm fine, don't worry about it," Dark spoke, trying to assure his friend. "Not like we can do anything about it anyways...". Anti opened his mouth to respond, but slowly shut it. He hated to admit it, but Dark was right.
Suddenly something fling through the flap on the door, causing both males to jump and snap their heads over. They couldn't see what it was, for it shot under Dark's bed. Nothing was said from the other side of the door, Dark looking over at Anti. "What the fuck was that?" He asked, Anti looking at Dark. "I dunno," he spoke, Dark waiting for a moment. "I mean, I haven't blown up yet so..," he joked, causing a scoff to come from Anti. Dark grinned, standing from his bed. Anti watched as the male got on his knees, looking under his bed. After a moment, a loud gasp left Dark. "Dude!" He exclaimed, Anti wearing an expression of confusion. "What? What is it?" Anti asked, not sure if he should be worried or not. Dark dug his hand under his bed, Anti assuming it was to grab what the item was. Dark sat back up on his knees, holding up what it was. It was a small red box, the word 'UNO' being on it. Anti's eyes widened as he gasped, small smile creeping up on his lips.
"How the fuck?!" Anti shouted, a laugh escaping Dark. He had beaten the male once again, him having lost count at this point. A groan left Anti as he threw his cards down, pouting at his loss. Dark snickered as he gathered up the cards, beginning to shuffle them. Anti tapped his fingers against the ground impatiently, looking over at the window. It was night time; he and Dark started playing while it was day out. "Holy shit– what time is it?" Anti asked, Dark looking at the alarm that sat on the ground next to Anti's bed. "Oh wow, it's 10:14," he spoke, shocked at how much time had passed. The two had been having the most fun they've had in years that they had completely lost track of time. "Jeez," Anti commented, running a hand through his hair. "I kinda wanna stay up and keep playing," he continued, looking back at Dark. Dark grinned, beginning to deal the cards. "So let's."
