I am trying so hard to do updates but some day they're just not possible. I need to spend all my time in the hospital, because when the persons mom says "I'm just waiting now for her to die." You know it's bad.
Anyways, on to the chapter.
——————————
When Jaehee woke up, she didn't know where she was. Her mind was foggy and she was terrified. She didn't remember much of what happened earlier, but she knew that she wasn't home. Her throat and mouth felt dry, like she needed to get something to drink. She sat up. She was in a dark room, but she seen something glowing out of the corner of her eye. A long, blue light shining at her from floor to ceiling. Something in it was moving. Fish.... Jaehee knew where she was. She was in her boss's bedroom. She quickly felt her body to make sure she was clothed. It wasn't that she didn't trust Jumin, but she didn't trust Jumin.
She slid off the bed, her feet hitting the floor softy. She opened the bedroom door slowly and walked out. Her footsteps, muffled by her socks, were basically inaudible as she looked around. There was a light on in the living room. Jaehee followed it, but stopped in her tracks when she saw her boss.
Jumin was standing in front of the window, completely shirtless. He was muscular for someone who worked an office job. Would it be going against fangirl code for Jaehee to say that with his shirt off he was hotter then Zen? Jumin was wearing tight, black pants and kept ruffling his hair with a towel. The yellow glow the lamp next to him was giving off made his hair appear brown in color. Jaehee blushed, hiding herself partially behind the wall. Elizabeth the 3rd jumped up on the side table, meowing for attention. Jumin smiled and rubbed her head, causing her to purr.
This was not normal for Jaehee. Her boss was strong, sophisticated, wealthy, emotionless, and quite frankly he didn't give a shit. But, from what Jaehee was seeing, he was soft, kind, casual... normal. Human. Jaehee wasn't used to him being so down to earth.
Jumin started ruffling his hair with the towel again, then turned towards Jaehee's hiding place. Upon noticing each other's gaze, they both screamed in union.
"W-What the hell are you doing just standing there, you Peeping Tom?!" Jumin snapped, holding the towel to his bare chest. Was he shy? That just made Jaehee blush more. "I... I..." Jaehee cleared her thrust. "Y-You should be explaining that to me! Why the hell am I at your penthouse and why are you half naked!?" Jaehee snapped back, although her voice kinda went high-pitched at the last part.
"Tch, I took a shower! I'm allowed to, this is my penthouse! I took you here because you were drugged!" Jumin growled, grabbing his shirt and pulling it on over his head. Jaehee's tongue was tied. Drugged? She tried to think about earlier, but it didn't come to mind. Jumin was tucking his shirt into his pants.
"Do you... not remember?" Jumin asked, noticing Jaehee's thoughtful gaze toward the ground. He walked over to Jaehee and placed his hand on her arm. He seemed... concerned. Jaehee remembered how he had kissed her and turned bright red. "N-No, I don't." She said, her voice cracking. She coughed into her enclosed fist, trying to clear her throat.
"Are you thirsty? Do you want something to drink?" Jumin asked her worriedly. Why was he acting like this?
"Why do you care?" Jaehee snapped unintentionally. She covered her mouth with her hand, tears brimming her eyes. "I..." She couldn't find words. Jumin shook his head, walking around her to the kitchen. He got a glass and filled it with water. "I'm sorry...." Jaehee chocked out. She was crying, why was she crying?! She wiped her eyes, realizing that her glasses were gone. She didn't really care, maybe Jumin put them somewhere.
"Don't apologize." Jumin said, handing her the glass. Jaehee took it cautiously, taking small sips. "You're still out of it," Jumin said with a sigh, leaning against his counter. "I can see it in your eyes." Jaehee didn't reply, she watched the ice cubes in her glass bop around and knock onto each other...
"What happened earlier today? How come I feel like this?" Jaehee asked, finally looking up at Jumin. "Earlier? You have been asleep since yesterday." He said, confused. Jaehee's eyes widened. "Yesterday?!" She exclaimed. Jumin nodded. "Someone attacked you and drugged you. I had to call my nurse yesterday to come check on you because..." Jumin shook his head, looking away from Jaehee. It seemed as though he wasn't going to finish his sentence. "Because?" Jaehee asked, her voice slightly echoey through the cup. She took another final sip. "Because I thought I lost you." Jumin said, chocked up. Jaehee turned red. What?! Lost me?! Jaehee wanted to say something, but the words remained in her head and didn't make it passed her lips. Jumin looked over at her and the empty cup. He cleared his throat and walked over to her.
"Is that better?" He asked, changing the subject. Jaehee nodded. "Yeah, my throat was dryer then the Spanish sahara." She said. Jumin chuckled. "Well, at the least you feel better." He said, taking the cup and placing it by the sink. It appeared as if Jumin had put the "Peeping Tom" situation behind them. Jaehee still felt like she was forgetting something...
"Ryu!" She gasped, covering her hand with her mouth. Jumin looked over at her from over his shoulder. "Ryu? Who's Ryu?" He asked. "My cat!" Jaehee said. "I-I mean, not my cat, b-but–" "The fluff ball in your apartment?" Jumin asked with a chuckle. "I'd never leave a cat unattended. I've already fed him yesterday and today." Jaheee sighed with relief. "Thank you." She said. She bit her lip. "I don't know why I liked the cat so much, though." She thought. "I wonder where he was..." Jaehee's phoned buzzed where it was plugged in at the counter. She walked over to it. "I should take this," She said to Jumin as she pointed to the phone. Jumin nodded.
Jumin had gotten a glimpse of the phone though. Vince. Jumin watched as his assistant walked off, into a spare room to take the phone call. Jaehee laughed at something, and Jumin clenched his fists. "What's so great about Vince?" He grumbled. Elizabeth the 3rd hopped up on the counter and meowed at Jumin, who huffed as a reply. "I am not jealous! Why would I be jealous of him?!" Jumin said protectively. "It's not like he has Jaehee wrapped around his finger or something-" "Like a date?" Jaehee's voice came from the spare room. Elizabeth meowed, and it sounded like an "I told you so." Jumin had to find something to do to end that phone call. He quickly grabbed the glass Jaehee had used and knocked it over, smashing it into the ground. He heard Jaehee gasp. She heard it. "I'll call you back on that, hang on." She said, Jumin smirked. It had worked.
Jaehee came out of the spare room. "What's wrong, are you okay?!" She asked. Jumin's smirk faded. He didn't think far enough ahead. "Y-Yeah, yes. I'm fine, I just... dropped the glass." Jumin stuttered. Jaehee nodded. "I'll help to clean it up," She said as she knelt down by the glass. Jumin knelt down with her, picking up small glass shards.
"Ouch!" Jaehee exclaimed. Jumin looked up at her. "Are you alright?!" He asked her. Jaehee nodded. "I just cut myself." she said. "I'll get the first aid." Jumin said, standing up. "Oh, no Mr. Han, it's just a small cut," Jaehee explained, but Jumin wasn't listening. He returned with a first aid kit in less then two minutes.
"Mr. Han, it's only a small cut." Jaehee tried to explain. Jumin shook his head. "It doesn't matter. It's my fault you got hurt." He said regretfully. Jaehee shook her head. "No Mr. Han, it really isn't." She stated. But it is. Jumin thought. I broke the glass on purpose and you wouldn't be hurt if I hadn't.
"I'll get my maid to clean up the rest of the glass," Jumin said as he put away the first aid kit. "Until then, would you be so kind as to place Elizabeth The 3rd in my bedroom and shut the door? I would not want her to injure her precious paws." He stated. He heard Jaehee sigh, but follow his instructions.
"If you hiss at me or scratch me, I am turning your tail into a scarf." Jaehee whispered to the cat as she tossed — literally tossed — the feline onto Jumin's bed and shut the door. Jaehee felt slightly awkward and out of place in Jumin's penthouse after that. "Would you like for me to go home?" She asked her boss. Jumin shook his head. "No. I'm... not letting you go yet." He said, looking away. Jaehee raised her eyebrow. "Why?" She asked. "I'm afraid you'll get hurt again." Jumin said. And I need to stop that date. He added in his head.
Jaeheee nodded understandingly. Her attempted kidnapper was obviously on the loose. Jumin told Jaehee that she was allowed access to anything she wanted in his house, yet Jaehee stayed seated on Jumin's couch doing paperwork. Jumin couldn't force her to do anything else, so he just watched from afar as he silently read a book. Every few pages he'd look up and see her seated, paperwork in lap, writing away. As Jumin stared, he couldn't help but think:
What if one day she were his and they were sat there together? There was only one way for him to find out.
My schedule: School; Hospital; food(if possible) sleep at 10 or 11 OR School; hospital; writing; sleep by 11-12. On the weekends it's wake up by 12 in the afternoon; hospital; food; sleep whenever. Today I went home from the hospital early. I should stop talking about this stuff but I mean I need to get it out, and no one really understands except my friends who visit her at the hospital.
I love you guys, thank you for dealing with my bullshit 💛💛💛~TheWeeWeeaboo
