—Mission...Start—
The Ohio unit loaded into their Osprey. This one is called Arrow Point.
It has some of the best shield and weapon tech the SCUF could gather.
Smith, the Ohio unit's mechanic, was nervous. They were flying over a territory that would have Anti-Air guns, ready to shoot the, down. If they did get across, they would have to meet up with the Paris and Denver units to fight through the rest to meet up with the other 69 units. Then, all 72 would set up a stronghold so reinforcements could arrive. At least, that was the plan
Smith, on the other hand, knew that things would turn out much differently. His plan was to secure a OMSA tank. If he can get his hands on one, he can salvage the technology and they can recreate it. It would also be good for fighting the enemy.
Erin, Smith's friend, looks at him. "Yo Smithers, you alright?"
This jolts Smith back to reality. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Erin nods. "Alright Smithers."
Smith goes back into thought, think of a good plan as they fly. He is so deep in thought he doesn't notice when the alarms go off, until Melody, known as Mel, pushes him. "Phsyco! We need to jump now!"
This gets his attention. "Right!" He grabs his gear and a parachute.
The damage done was many strikes ti the engine. So they got close enough to the landing zone, and the entire team jumped into the burned forest srea below.
Malik, the medic, and Sullivan, the heavy, were the first to jump out. Then Eric, then Mel, and finally Smith jumps out. The Osprey's autopilot was still on, so it kept flying away from them. Truth is, Mel hacked it to keep it flying, thinking that it would distrsct OSMAs from their direction.
Once everyone was on the ground (Malik had gotten stuck in a tree) the team combed a 20 meter radius, with Mel trying to set up a link to the rest of the teams about the situation at the center. This area is where they set a small area thst could easily be defended, Mel and Malik started working on trying to set up a signal to the SCUF but something was blocking an transmissions.
The team decided to, after an hour, start moving towards London. Now, this area is a forest, and there is good reason for that. See, the English hought that making the area a dense forest would help them hold up against the OSMA attack, but they were wrong. So now Ohio had to move through this forest, constantly on alert for either Paris and Denver, or OMSA soldiers, designed to wipe out any remaining humans in the area.
Smith and Mel were quietly talking among themselves, thinking of a way to secure the tank they needed. "So, we take one from the factory in London?" Mel asked
Smith shook his head. "Nope, too dangerous. We could take one from a small stronghold outside the city."
"No, that would only work of we got Ohio, Denver, and Paris to attack at once."
Smith sighed. "Guess we have to come across one by chance."
Mel nodded solemnly.
The team eventually came across an area full of broken OMSAs when they heard movement behind them. The team got ready to fire, but when they turned around they were greeted by Carrie, Denver's sniper. Erin looks at her quizzically. "Where is the rest of Denver?"
Carrie had tears in her eyes. "All dead, killed in an ambush placed by these damn things." She kicks one in the head.
Smith looked down. "That's not good. Any word from Paris?"
Carrie shook her head. "Nope. Something is jamming all the signals."
Mel nodded in agreement with the idea of a signal jammer. "Alright, so where do we go?"
Malik looked up and saw another Osprey landing. It was the one Paris uses. "This way."
Sullivan shakes his head. "This is a trap."
Smith shrugged. "We won't know until we go there."
And so Ohio and Carrie set off in the direction of the Osprey.
