Sunday, September 16th (part 1)

Everett walked into St. Paul's Cathedral. She had spent yesterday as a sort of break day. At the gigantic cathedral, she saw someone she didn't think she'd see. "Kendall?" Everett said out loud. The oncologist was wearing a suit and he was holding pamphlets, handing them to anyone who passed him and wanted one.

"Hello, welcome to the church," he greeted someone. "Here, let me help you." Kendall held on to the old lady and walked her up the stairs. There were about twenty steps.

"Thank you, Dr. Herbert," she said. "Here, take this candy. The grand kiddies won't take it. Those children don't know what good candy is anymore."

Kendall assorted the caramel-looking candy and said, "Oh course, Winnie. Have a good day."

Kendall walked back to his spot in the middle of the steps. Everett walked up to the stairs and acted like she always went there though she didn't look like it. We didn't exactly know that they still held church in the chapel. Margarita made it sound more like a museum if any. Everett was wearing a black leather jacket and a gray summer dress which wasn't good long so she could still run in her black combat boots. She didn't exactly look like she was going to church.

Walking to the marble stairs she walked up to Kendall's side. It was a perfect opportunity. Kendall was looking into a pamphlet probably answering a question some had who was hanging off his other side.

"Excuse me but," Everett said in her sweetest voice. "Can I please have a pamphlet?"

"Sure," he said, handing her one offhand.

Everett smiled, giddy from thinking about the reaction. "Thanks, Dr. Herbert," she said in her voice. She began walking up the stairs when Kendall turned around.

"Everett!?" he yelled, dropping the pamphlets. That wasn't exactly what she expected.

"Yes?" she said in her innocent voice. The people around them seemed to be weary of Everett because of Kendall yelling her name in shock. They looked at her internally, judging if she was a good character. Kendall and Everet looked at each other's eyes. They shared but one thought.

Make it normal.

"Everett, what a surprise!" Kendall said walking up to her and giving her a big hug. She accepted it and hugged him back but lightly. When they let go Kendall said, "You gave me quite a shock back there."

No one had hugged her since her parents died. She refused all of them. Now that she received one after so many tears, she realized why people did them so often. It was warm, not only physically, but internally. It made her want to smile.

"Yeah, sorry about that," Everett said. Her head went down but her eyes spied on the people. Instead of frowns and confusion, she saw smfrinscand smiles. Acceptation. She walked over to the pamphlets and the two of them talked while picking up the pamphlets from the stairs.

"I didn't know you went to this church," Kendall said. "I must have missed you, it is quite big..."

"You didn't miss me. I don't go to church," Everett whispered as to not call attention.

"Oh," Kendall said. He stopped grabbing the papers. "Why did you come today? Did you have a change of heart?" He resumed picking up the pamphlets.

"Should I trust him with this?" Everett questioned herself. "Kendall already knew that I was an assassin. That I ill people for a living. He even joked about crying out loud! Plus he can be stealthy if he wants to be. I don't know how many times he had successfully sneaked up on me, and he went to St. Paul's Cathedral. He would know his way around the large castle-like building." "I came here because of a hit," verte whispered. They both stood up, now with all of the paper handouts in their hands. Endalls eyes went wide, but he didn't say anything.

He looked around and gave someone the pamphlets. "Here, Christian, can you please take these? I have to take my friend here someplace private." The guys named Christian nodded with a smile on his face.  He seemed to know something, like 'some place private' was coded for something. This made Everett worry. Did she trust the wrong person? Was Kendall a spy sent out to kill her and steal her identity?

Kendall grabbed her hand and led him into the cathedral. Many people watched them, they waved and smiled at Kendall. They looked excited. "Don't think about it, just do it," one lady told her. She looked so excited, she looked like she would explode. It creeped Everett out.

"Uh...Kendall, where are we going?" Everet asked, with her head down. Her heartbeat started getting faster. He didn't say anything and put them in a small room. It had a small table and three chairs around.

"Take a seat," Kendall said, pulling out a chair for Everett. She slowly sat down as if sitting down meant death. "Are you okay?" Kendall said, he raised his eyebrow. Everett's heart was beating like a bird in a cage. She was taking deep breaths to try and soothe her heart.
