Chapter 16
Fonias POV
Just as I was about to leave, I felt someone appear beside me, and looked to my right.
Poseidon.
"Lord Poseidon, what brings you to the beach at this hour?" I asked, trying to be polite.
"I could ask the same thing, commander."
"Well, sleeping for two weeks does wonders to you. It's even better than caffeine." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Ahh, yes. I must apologise. Mike, you see, doesn't do well with failure. Especially when provoked." I felt anger rising in me. He was the one that provoked me first.
"You might want to tell your son to keep his emotions in check, for Chaos won't be so forgiving the next time." I warned. Sensing the anger in me, Poseidon hurriedly answered, "Of course, commander." Silence fell as we looked at the waves crashing against the shore.
"It wasn't always like this, you know. The ocean. I had a son, he was my pride and joy. The hero of Olympus. He was extremely humble, never taking enough credit. Then my other son came, Mike, as you know. I wanted him to be just like Percy. I focused on Mike so much, I didn't even realise how neglected Percy felt. Then one day, he found his girlfriend cheating on him with his brother. Percy punched Mike, and I... I didn't know the full story at that time and made a mistake. I disowned him. And from then on, the ocean became a greyish colour. I tried to change it back but it just won't work.
"When I first took over the job as the god of the sea from Pontus, he warned me that the sea had a mind of it's own. And it cannot be restrained. Not by anyone. Not anyone except, well, one person. He foretold that the prince of the sea, he alone can control all of the oceans and what is living in it. For he will have a pure heart and only use the power for good.
"And Mike, well, he was and angel in front of me but a demon to his brother. I thought, that Mike would be the prince, but clearly I was wrong... Mike couldn't control the sea at all. Only the lakes would respond to him, albeit reluctantly. And from the day I disowned Percy, the seas have been like this. And only then I knew that Percy was the true prince. He was the one with the pure heart.
"I have regretted it is much. For I've not only lost a son with a pure heart, but also the ocean, for it is dying too. You remind me of him, but how can my son, so cheerful and happy be so cold? And I, or course, don't mean any offense to you. " Poseidon whispered, tears streaming down his face. Through betrayal he can.
"Well, I must be going. You should not sleep too late, Lord Poseidon, for tomorrow will be a long day." I said, leaving him there to mourn for his lost son.
ΩTime skip to next dayΩ
I arrived at the dining pavilion the next day at 6.45 am, having already eaten with the soldiers in the Chaos Cabin. Most of the demigods and gods were there, with some demigods trailing in. All of the demigods looked weary, but that was because they had been training their fitness for the past two weeks from what Chance told me. The Roman demigods were seated at the pavilion too, but I'm not so worried about them as they have strict routines so everyone is still fit. Artemis also flashed in with her hunters.
I looked at the cloak. It was seven. The only ones that weren't here was Ares and Dionysus(A/N His time of service was up). Angered, I flashed up to Olympus to find Ares on his throne, sharpening a knife.
"Why are you still here?" I asked with barely controlled rage. He smirked at me.
"I'm the god of War, punk. You think I still need to learn whatever stupidity you're gonna teach?" My eyes flashed, and I sprinted to Ares's throne and grabbed his neck with one hand and held a knife in the other. I pushed him onto the marble floor and put my foot on his back, rendering him escapeless, as I flashed us back to Camp.
I could hear gasps of shock as I appeared with Ares. I snapped my fingers, and Dionysus appeared, wearing a loud leopard print shirt, with wine spilled all over it. Zeus stood up from where he was seated and said, "Release my son now!"
I snorted. "Oh, I will, and they will get their punishment. Now sit down, Zeus. I remember saying that if you are not here by seven, you will pay."
"You-"
"Sit. Down." I let my aura flare up a bit, and Zeus sat, scared of my power.
After Ares and Dionysus sat down on a bench somewhere, I started. (no imagine him saying this in a very no-nonsense manner. like Mcgonagall)"Now, I'm going to make this short, for you don't have any time left. And I don't have any time left to deal with your (forgive my cussing) bullshit. This is war. Against Chaos' brother, End. He is as powerful as Chaos, gifted with power of the ending of creation. This will be unlike any other war. And seeing you don't have your best fighter, Percy Jackson, you will have to work harder. There will be casualties. But as long as you still stand, I expect you to defend your home. We are not here to lead you into war. We are here to help you, so you can fight yourselves when the next one comes.
"Chance has told me you have been training your fitness for the past two weeks, and learning how to use a variety of weapons. Good. But it is not enough. You need to master a weapon. Now, here's how we're gonna do it. Does who expert in swords, go to Chance and Balance. Hunters, Asteri and Angel. Sonic, Arrow, take the campers with bows. Beauty, daggers. Beast help her. Vines, spears.
"I'll take the gods. At exactly 2 in the afternoon, we will switch. The campers will come here to learn better control of their powers. Tomorrow, the same schedule. After dinner, Capture the flag, then rest up. For End is attacking in three days. I want you to push yourself to perfection. No one is to lunch or dinner until I say so. Clear?" Most of them looked shaken, many talking to each other.
"I said; clear?"
"Clear." they responded.
With a nod, I the gods away to begin their training.
Wohoo! Done! You get this chappie cuz @rallypuncher requested it! So if ya request it, I might have the motivation to start a new one before two weeks is up! Also, I won't be able to update so much cuz I have exams
