self-care isnt what tumblr makes it out to be

it isnt just watching cheesy disney movies, swaddled in your favorite blanket, eating cookies, and cuddling a stuffie

self-care is finally getting out of bed, showering because it has been three days, doing the dishes in the sink because the rotting food stinks and is unhealthy to breathe, calling your friends/work/family or at least texting letting them know you aren(t) okay and you do/nt need help, etc. etc.

self-care isnt a freaking aesthetic okay

treating yourself is part of self-love and very necessary dont get me wrong but self-care is so different

scrapping rotting food into the trash can while gagging isnt some cute aesthetic to put captions like "finally learning how to care for myself !! ✨💕"

idek if this makes sense so ill revise it later but i am soo upset right :-)
