Epilogue
The past weeks have been nothing but amazing. After Harrison's family left, you knew you needed a few more minutes to talk to Harrison about what you said before his niece interrupted you, and especially to talk to him about where you were standing in terms of your feelings and relationship status - if there even was one right now.
You felt all the pressure of the past weeks fall from your shoulders when Harrison told you that he still wanted to make this things between you as official as it can get, that he still wanted this to be real and that he still wanted you, all of you. It was easy to move on from where you had left off, because everything with Harrison seemed to be easy. Everything felt right with him, everything felt like it was meant to be.
The two of you knew that you had your differences, of course you did, everyone had them, but you also knew that your differences were what made you strong because in the end, you had much more in common that made you perfect for each other.
You had directed your little short film with the help of Harry behind the camera and some of your friends in front of the camera. With Tom being the boy you needed for part of the speech and Eva helping you out as the child, Harrison had managed to convince his parents to be the parents in the film as well. The blonde boy had volunteered to be the narrator of the story as well which always managed to put a smile on your face whenever you listened to it.
Harrison's voice managed to calm you down whenever you heard it. It always managed to brighten your day because at least you knew he was there even when your exams seemed to get the best of you which they really did in the past week.
Both of you had been studying for your final exams this semester so you hadn't seen much of Harrison. Of course, the fact that you had some of your classes together would've meant that you could study together, but at some point both of you realised that you were more of a distraction to each other than you were a helping hand.
It was hard to stay focused when he was sitting across from you, concentrating on the notes in front of him, because you adored it whenever he bit his lip while reading through a book. For Harrison, just being next to you was reason enough for him to get distracted. You had this habit of putting the end of your pen between your lips whenever you were trying to figure something out and quite frankly, it drove him crazy to the point where he had shoved you out of his room and told you to go study in Tom's room because he couldn't handle it anymore.
You were pretty annoyed at first, but you understood what he meant when he told you that studying together was a no-go after you had just started your relationship a few weeks ago. You got a lot more work done without him than you got done with him by your side. It wasn't meant to be mean or rude when you said that you tried to stay out of each other's way as much as possible for the past weeks, because it was the best for both of you.
Of course you texted each other all the time or randomly ran into each other on campus and for the first few weeks you even managed to push in some date nights, but for the past week you had been locked up in your flat with only your textbooks keeping you company and you figured Harrison had been doing the same.
It was currently a Monday evening and presentation week had just started, which meant that tomorrow morning, it was time to present your final cut of the short film you had directed in order to get your final grade. You were quite excited to see how much Mr. Matthews liked it because it wasn't an overstatement when you said that this film was your baby.
It was what brought you and Harrison together - and apart - and together again. It was what started this whole adventure from being Harrison's fake girlfriend to being his real girlfriend and it meant so much more to you than just a grade in that class.
You had finished the last cut of it yesterday evening and you were quite excited to show it to everyone. Letting out a yawn, you glanced at your phone as you realised that it was already 6pm and probably time for a little break from all of your textbooks.
Almost on cue, you saw a message from Harrison pop up.
I miss you, Beautiful. Any chances you're hungry and need some food?
You never knew what it felt like to go weak in the knees after only reading a text message and to feel the butterflies in your whole body after just two simple sentences, but with Harrison, everything seemed to much clearer.
I wouldn't say no to food.
You smiled as you immediately saw that he had read your message as the little dots popped up again.
No "I miss you too"?
You let out a groan as you heard a knock on your door. Of course he was already here. Getting up from your couch, you made your way to your front door where you were greeted by the one and only, Harrison Osterfield - your boyfriend, who looked even more handsome after a few days of not seeing each other.
"Should've known you were here already." You smiled as he let himself in, two pizza boxes balancing in his hand.
"Thought you needed a break as much as I did." He smiled as he walked over to the couch table to put down the food.
"I was just about to take a break." You laughed as you followed him to the couch where he had sat down.
"I know, you always take a break at 6pm." He grinned as he pulled you into his lap, making you straddle him.
"You think you know me sooo well, don't you?" You giggled before he shut you up by pulling you in for a much awaited kiss.
Kissing Harrison was addicting. You would've thought that after you got together you would get used to it at some point, but it still felt as amazing as your first kiss did. Kissing Harrison was mesmerizing. He managed to make you forget about everything stressful just by connecting his lips to yours. But most of all, kissing Harrison was easy. It was special every time you kissed, but it was easy, because he was just himself and you were just you, and somehow, whenever you were together it felt like you could do anything if he was by your side.
"I missed you too, y'know." You mumbled against his lips as you pulled away for air.
"I know you did, I would miss me too if I hadn't seen me in a few days." He grinned, making you pull away further, one eyebrow raised.
"You're too full of yourself, Osterfield." You shook your head as you swung your leg over his lap so you were back on your own side of the couch.
"Hey! I didn't say you should stop kissing me." He whined as he tried to pull you back on his lap.
"You think I'd rather kiss you than eat this pizza you brought?" You grinned as you opened the box in front of you.
"I know you do."
"You're great, H, but Pizza is so much better than you." You laughed when you saw the pout on his lips, making you hold out your piece so he could take a bite just for you to pull away when he opened his mouth.
"You're fucking rude." Harrison shook his head as he sent you a death glare before grabbing his own box.
"Deal with it."
It was nice to finally spend a full evening with Harrison again. You had missed him more than you realised because when it was time for him to leave, so both of you could get some sleep before the big day tomorrow, you weren't quite ready to let him go. He had already put on his shoes as he grabbed his jacket from where he had thrown it onto the back of the couch as you wrapped your arms around him, burying your face in his chest.
"What did I do to deserve this?" He chuckled as he placed a soft kiss on your hair.
"Thought I could get you to stay the night." You mumbled as you felt him wrap his arms around you as well.
"You do know that I don't even want to go home right? Just thought you wanted no distractions before the presentation tomorrow." He laughed as you freed yourself from his arms to smile at him.
"I think I can deal with a few distractions before going to bed." You grinned as Harrison picked you up to throw you over his shoulder before making his way towards your bedroom.
"Lets see how many distractions you can handle, Beautiful."
The answer was three - you were able to handle three distractions before you fell into a deep slumber next to him, only waking up when his alarm went off the next morning.
You had almost forgotten how much better you slept next to Harrison. Of course you wanted him to spend the night every day, but you knew that if he was here in the morning, you would never be able to leave your bed let alone concentrate on your Uni stuff, so you went back to spending the night alone at home while he was at his own place.
"Morning." Harrison mumbled as you buried your face in the crook of his neck, refusing to get up just yet.
"Five more minutes."
"I'd give you ten more minutes, but I feel like we're already too late because this was my alarm and not yours and you probably would've gotten up like twenty minutes ago." He mumbled as you shot up from your safe place.
"Shit, I forgot to set my alarm last night, didn't I?" You groaned as you jumped out of bed, "We need to shower together if you want to shower as well." You grinned as you grabbed a few clothes before making your way towards your bathroom.
"Wasn't going to, but I'm not saying no to that offer." Harrison said, as he followed you, a grin plastered across his face.
Twenty minutes later, the two of you were out of the shower and ready for your big day. You liked your short film so much that you weren't even nervous about presenting. You didn't need the confirmation of your professor that the film was amazing, because you were the one Harrison had tried to impress with the script. This whole thing meant more than just you getting a good grade but it would definitely be a big bonus to see that other people liked it as well - and they did.
Mr Matthews had told you that he was impressed by everything he had seen and asked you some questions about the details of how you came up with it or who directed and filmed it and it was quite obvious that you had passed and were definitely getting an above average grade.
"So, what do you say about taking the day off before studying starts again tomorrow?" Harrison smiled as he put his arm around as you walked out of the classroom.
"I don't know, H, I should be getting back to studying."
"What if I said I needed your help with babysitting?" He asked, making your head shoot up to look at him.
"Eva and Theo?"
"No, Tom - Ouch!" He laughed as you hit his chest, "Yes, the two rascals need someone to look after them since their parents have some business in the city to take care off. They'll drop them off in an hour."
"Hm, can't say no to those two, can I?"
"I know you can't, also you can't quite say no to a visit to the Zoo." He smiled when he saw your eyes go wide, "That a yes?"
"I guess so, but if I'm failing my exam, I'm blaming you." You groaned.
"You'll blame me either way, I can live with that." He grinned as he placed a kiss on your temple.
Three hours later you were wandering around London Zoo with Theo in your arms as Eva was dragging Harrison to every animal she could spot. You let out a laugh when you watched Harrison throw his head back in defeat as Eva pulled him in the directions of the lions. You fell back a few feet as Theo spotted the llamas across from where Harrison was currently being dragged to.
"Do you want to look at the llamas?" You smiled as Theo nodded, making you stop in front of the animals so he could take a look at them.
"Fluffy." Theo giggled as he seemed to have found his new favourite animal for the next few weeks.
You spent another 10 minutes watching the llamas run around in their pen before you decided it was probably time to find your boyfriend and his niece again. You weren't really surprised to see that they have moved on from the lions and were nowhere to be seen.
Walking past the Land of the Lions you spotted the B.U.G.S house as you remembered how much Eva wanted to see the "funny coloured ladybugs". You immediately spotted Eva as she almost had her face pressed against the glass of the terrarium the bugs were in. Harrison was standing behind her reading the animal description for her as she seemed to be completely mesmerized by the animals in front of her.
Looking at the boy in your arms you saw that the giant spider had captured his attention as he watched her spin her net.
"Spider." He smiled as he pointed at it.
Meanwhile, the little girl was still looking at the bug inside the terrarium as Harrison was patiently waiting for her to get bored by it. He hadn't seen you enter the house and he had no idea where you currently were, but he knew you would be fine on your own and that he trusted you in taking care of his nephew.
"Uncle Har? Can I ask you something?" Eva turned around to ask her question.
"How do you know that you love someone? Because I really love this bug and I want it for myself!" She giggled as Harrison crouched down to her level, a smile on his face.
"I don't know how it feels to really love a bug so much that you want to steal it, which is by the way definitely not going to happen, Princess." He laughed, "But I can promise you that once you're old enough I can tell you how it feels to love a person so much you want them all to yourself." He smiled as Eva wrapped her arms around his neck, waiting for him to pull her up in his arms.
"So I can't have the bug?" She pouted.
"You can't." He laughed.
"Do you love (Y/N)?" Eva asked out of nowhere, startling Harrison more than he thought it would.
You hadn't told each other that you loved each other, but he was always so close to telling you that he was completely and madly in love with you and that he definitely wanted you all to himself. He had no idea when the right time was to tell you that he loved you, because wasn't a few weeks into the relationship still too early to say the L-word?
"Hello?" Eva said as she had her hand in a fist, knocking on Harrison's forehead.
"I do, I do love her. More than she knows." He smiled as Eva spotted you behind him, your mouth wide open as the girl let out a giggle.
Harrison froze when he felt arms wrap around him from behind. He had no idea if your heard him say that he loved you and he had no idea what you thought about him saying he loved you, so he slowly turned around, Eva still propped up in his arms, but wiggling around as a signal for him to let her down, which he did, making her turn back around to admire the bug again.
"Thought I'd never find you again." You smiled as you saw Harrison's face relax.
What he didn't know was that you had heard him. That you had almost fainted when you heard him say that he loved you and that you currently wanted nothing more than to tell him that you loved him too.
You loved him. So much that it almost broke you and him in the process, but you were tired of pretending that you weren't good together, tired of pretending that you didn't miss him whenever you were apart and most definitely tired of pretending that you didn't love him with your whole heart
You may have had the art of pretending down from very early ages, but right now, pretending was the least you wanted to do when it came to Harrison and your relationship, because when it came to all of that, you wanted everything to be as real and as honest as it could get, so when he placed a kiss on your forehead, your lips spread into a smile as you got ready to be as real and as honest with him as you could.
"You're lucky I love you too."
"You heard it." He mumbled before he threw his head back with a groan just before he smiled his brightest smile at you before placing another kiss on your lips as Theo started squirming in your arms.
"I did." You grinned as your eyes found your boyfriend's blue one's only a few inches away from your own.
"I was kind of waiting for it to be a bit more romantic than a bug house, but I guess there is no taking back, is there?" He grinned as you let out a laugh.
"Only if you don't meant it."
"I've never been more certain about anything my life, Beautiful." He smiled as you placed you free hand on his cheek to pull him in for another kiss, "I really do love you." He whispered against your lips before they were met by your own in the middle.
"I love you too."
No more pretending.
