Chapter 8

After the two of you arrived fashionably late to your lecture, you were both trying to almost painfully concentrate on what your professor was trying to say, but there were so many things on your mind. You heard people start whispering as soon as you made your way to a seat in the last rows, Harrison following close behind which didn't really help with all the rumors that were already going around. Was this how you were known now? As the girl who was hooking up with the one and only Harrison Osterfield instead of just professionally doing her project with him? As the girl who walked around campus and a party with the boy's clothes on - to possibly try and claim him as yours?

"What's on your mind?" Harrison asked, knowing that you were back to thinking about what people were thinking about you.

"Nothing, shut up."

"(Y/N)..." Harrison started as you turned your head to look at him. He was looking at you with so much concern in his eyes that you almost felt sorry for making him look like the bad guy in this.

"It's fine, honestly." You sent him a smile before going back to concentrating on your lecture.

Harrison hated that people were talking about you in that sort of way. He sent death glares to everyone who was looking your way and whispering something in their friend's ear. The boy heard a lot of shit going around whenever he had hooked up with a girl at a party or something, but it had never bothered him like that. The girls knew that he wasn't looking for anything serious and neither were they, but this time, it was his fault that those rumors were going around. You did this for him and now his past behaviour was the reason everyone thought you were his newest hookup.

The blonde boy learned to not give a fuck about what people were saying about him because half of what they were saying was made up bullshit, but he knew you weren't used to being the center of attention. He may have not known you for longer than a total of six days, but the two of you spent so much time together in the past few days that he knew you hated this and he wanted nothing more than to protect you from all this crap.

Your eyes were focused on the slides in front of you when you felt Harrison's hand slip into yours under the table. He was giving your hand a soft squeeze when you turned your head to your right again. Something inside of you shouted at you to pull your hand away, but the other voice was trying its best to convince you that this was the most adorable thing you had ever witnessed and that this was the real Harrison. The Harrison that would try his best to protect you from all the bullshit in this world - so you sent him a soft smile as you left your hands intertwined.

It was now only a few hours after you had left uni to go home, take a nap and pack your bags for your weekend trip to Harrison's parents. You were currently sitting in the backseat of Tom's car as you were silently typing away on your phone, listening to the boy's discussion about the best superhero. Harrison was standing his ground on Batman's side while Tom was convinced that Harrison was stupid and there was only one real deal - Spider-Man.

"(Y/N), stand with me on this one, please." Harrison groaned as Tom continued to tell Harrison that he was an idiot for thinking Batman was better than Spider-Man.

"You already know who's side she's on, right?" Tom laughed as his eyes found yours in his rear view mirror.

"Definitely mine, right Babe?" Harrison grinned as he turned around to look at you.

"You already know who's side I'm on, right?" You laughed as Tom's fist appeared in front of you, demanding a fist bump.

"You've got to be kidding me?" Harrison groaned again as he sunk further into his seat, "I'm seriously thinking about breaking up with you, you know?"

"Oh please do, Harrison, so I don't have to endure your stupid ass this whole weekend."

"Have I already told you how much I love your fake girlfriend?" Tom laughed, "If you ever decide to fake break up with her, you'll be the one getting real kicked out of our friends group, I hope you know that, Osterfield."

"We've been friends for what? 12 years? And you've known her for less than a week!" The boy gasped as Tom just shrugged, sending you a grin - and with that, it was official that you were Tom Holland's new best friend.

"Why don't you two just start dating each other, huh? Looks like you get along just fine." Harrison pouted as the two of you burst out laughing.

"Yeah, that sound like a great idea, what do you think, Thomas?" You laughed.

"I should've brought Tom as my date." Harrison groaned but couldn't hide the smile that was forming on his lips when he looked back at you.

About an hour and twenty four facts about why Spider-Man was better than Batman later, you pulled up in front of what you assumed was the house Harrison grew up in.

"Ready for this?" Harrison asked as he opened the back door for you to hop out.

"Let's do this, Handsome." You smiled as you intertwined your hand with his.

"Yeah, that's sweet and all that, but I'm not carrying your bags for you." You heard someone groan from the back of the car as Harrison let go of your hand to help his friend with the bags.

"And here I was, thinking my son would never settle down." You heard a voice from the front door, the same voice you had already heard through the phone when you first walked into the boy's flat only a few days ago.

"Mum!" Harrison was back to standing next to you as his hand found yours again.

"What? Am I not allowed to be excited to finally meet the girl who managed to somehow tie you down?" She smiled as her eyes found yours.

"I regret bringing you already." Harrison laughed before letting go of your hand to take a step forward to hug his mother, "Mum, this is (Y/N). (Y/N), my mother."

Before you could react you were pulled into a hug by the blonde woman. She was without a doubt beautiful and it was like you finally knew why Harrison was this walking piece of perfection.

"Nice to finally meet you, I've heard a lot about you." You smiled when she pulled back.

"Nice to meet you too, Darling. I wish I could say the same, but my son decided to keep you all to himself." She laughed as she sent a glare into Harrison's direction, "I can totally see why though, you're beautiful."

"Thank you." You smiled as you felt the heat spread in your face. You were not used to compliments and you hated getting them, so you were happy to see Tom stepping in and pulling Harrison's mother in a hug.

"She's already over the moon." Harrison mumbled into your hair before placing a soft kiss on top of it.

"Tell me Tom, does he treat her right?" The woman asked as she nudged Tom's side when she saw the soft interaction between the two of you.

"Treats her better than me, that's for sure." Tom laughed as Harrison help up his middle finger only a split second before he was scolded by his mum.

"Come on, I want you to meet someone." Harrison grinned as he pulled you along with him into the house.

As you soon as you were inside the house, you were immediately greeted by the someone the blonde wanted you to meet. The dog greeted Harrison like he hadn't seen him for years as the boy crouched down to pat him. The wagging of the dog's tail only increased when he saw you standing next to his owner. Crouching down to the same level as Harrison, you were immediately being attacked by the dog.

"Monts, that's (Y/N), (Y/N), meet Monty. The love of my life." Harrison smiled as you were still giggling while patting Monty.

You went on to also meet Harrison's stepdad before meeting his sister, Charlotte. She was incredibly sweet and definitely way too interested in your relationship with her brother after saying she had no idea how someone would deliberately spend time with Harrison, let alone be in a relationship with him.

After meeting all the people in the house, Harrison decided to give you a quick house tour so you would know your way around it for the next two days. Arriving at the spare room, you saw Tom's stuff on the bed as Harrison rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, that was were you were going to stay." Harrison laughed, "I'll tell him to move his shit into my room."

"Dude, your mother told me to put my stuff into the spare room. The woman knows you're not twelve anymore and that you're definitely sleeping together already." Tom suddenly appeared behind you, "and you guys seriously need to be more careful with your conversations now that people are around you. Also your mum said it's time for dinner, so move your asses down before I tell them you're too busy sucking off each other's faces." Tom smiled before making his way down the stairs to the people who felt like a second family to him.

"We should probably follow him, because we both know Tom, that boy can't keep his damn mouth shut." Harrison laughed before his hand found its way into yours again, "Ready for this?"

"More than ready."

You were right, you were ready for the next two days and it was something that started to scare you. You still had no idea who this guy really was, because he sure as hell didn't seem like the guy everyone told you about. The guy you've heard about wouldn't have apologized for what happened this morning, right? The boy everyone talked about would have never apologized for kissing you in front of other people. This right now was your own version of the one and only Harrison Osterfield - and he was currently being nothing but an amazing fake boyfriend to you.

After dinner, everyone decided to call it a night pretty early since it would be quite an early start to a hectic day the next morning. Harrison's family was super sweet and you found yourself getting along with them incredibly well, which had kind of a bitter taste to it since you weren't so sure if you would ever see them again - because in less than 48 hours, the two of you would be nothing more than project partners again. No fake relationship, no fake kisses and no fake hand holding, just two people in the same lecture at Uni.

"I don't mind sleeping on the floor." Harrison smiled as he rubbed the back of his neck when he saw you enter his room after getting changed into your pyjama.

"We've literally slept in the same bed last night, Harrison. I'm cool with sharing as long as you stick to your side." You laughed before getting under the covers just to watch Harrison take off his shirt and his pants without a warning.

"Like what you see?" Harrison grinned at you before turning off the lights and getting into bed next to you, making you a lot more nervous than you wanted to be.

"Yeah, sure." You snorted before you felt a finger boop your nose. Bringing your hand up to push the boy's finger away from your nose, you felt Harrison's fingers slip in between yours. You may only be seeing a dark silhouette of the boy next to you, but you could see the smile on his face as he squeezed your intertwined fingers.

"Are you going to let go of my hand or do I have to kick you?" You laughed as you jokingly tried to free yourself from his grip.

"Let me hold your hand, woman." You heard him laugh before you were being pulled closer into the boy's chest as his other hand brushed some strands of hair out of your face, "I like holding your hand if you haven't noticed."

And with that being said, you were right before when you said that this right now was your own and also favourite version of Harrison Osterfield - who was definitely not your real boyfriend.
