Chapter 6
After Tom had closed the door, the two of you found yourself sitting next to each other in an awkward silence. Neither of you expected to be that frustrated about that kiss not happening. It was supposed to be a stupid practice kiss, no tension, no flirting, no nothing. Just a damn practice kiss. But now you were sitting there, not knowing what to do. Why was there suddenly such an awkward tension between the two of you?
Your thoughts were interrupted by Harrison's phone buzzing. It took him a second to read the message he had just gotten before he looked up at you, a nervous smile showing on his lips.
"Are you down for a little party tonight? Tom's asking if you want to join us."
"We've got classes tomorrow morning, Harrison." You smiled, shaking your head.
"You should know that having classes doesn't stop me from having a good time." The boy chuckled, "So, you down? I promise you I'm not going to get too drunk so you don't even have to be my babysitter for the night."
"Are you finally admitting that I can handle a lot more than you can?" You said as your lips curved into a grin.
"That's definitely NOT what I was saying. It's not my fault that you didn't mix your drinks as strong like I d- Ouch!" He cried out in fake pain after you lightly tapped his chest, "Stay away from me, woman."
Harrison was about to start a counter tickle attack when you heard a knock on the bedroom's door.
"Look who finally learned how to knock." Harrison joked when Tom stuck his face inside the room, eyes closed.
"Can I look?" The brunette grinned as he stepped inside.
"Let me just get dressed real quick." You said as Tom's eyes shot wide open. The grin that had been plastered on his face disappeared when he saw that Harrison and you were obviously still fully clothed and looking at him with the corners of your mouths tucked up.
"Damn, you work slow." He rolled his eyes, "So what are you guys saying? Are you down for a little party?"
"(Y/N) reminded me that we have classes tomorrow, so I guess I'm out." Harrison shrugged causing Tom and you to look at him as your mouths fell open in disbelieve of what you just heard.
"Y-You're out? W-What do you mean, you're out?" Tom stuttered, not sure whether Harrison was taking the piss or not. Usually Harrison never said no to a party, but he saw that the boy was secretly starting to like hanging out with you and that you had already been a good influence for him although it had only been a few days of you guys spending time together.
"I'm kidding! Jez, am I not allowed to make a joke?" Harrison burst out laughing as Tom let out a relieved sigh.
"I was about to kick you out and let Harry move in." Tom said when his eyes found yours, "You're also in, right?"
"I-I don't know, I don't have any appropriate clothes with me."
"We'll blow dry your jeans and I'm sure you'll be able to make something out of one of Harrison's shirts. He's got a shit ton of clothes, there has to be something that'll look great on you." Tom shrugged as his eyes went to Harrison.
"Y-Yeah, you can look through my stuff and see if you like anything." Harrison smiled at you. You could've sworn you felt your heart flutter after seeing that smile, but you pushed that thought back into the darkest corners of your brain - and heart.
"See! Look at Harrison being a great boyfriend." Tom giggled as he turned around to make his way back to the living room, "I'm going to mix some pre-drinks, you better hurry up. Harry and Sam will be here in a few."
"I-I don't know if it's a great idea to walk around a party with your shirt on... people might notice and think we're actually dating and I really don't want to ruin your future hookups." You said as you nervously fiddled with the hem of your, or more like Harrison's, shirt..
"Who fucking cares, (Y/N)? As far as I know, you're my girl right now, fake or not, I'm not going to hookup with anyone tonight, not after having to pretend to be dating you for the next few days." Harrison said before getting up and grabbing your still damp jeans to go blow dry them, "What's mine is yours for tonight, choose whatever you like." He said as he pointed to his closet.
You hesitated for a moment before getting up from the bed to look through the boy's clothes. You had to give it to him, Harrison had taste. You decided to go for one of his white shirts and his jeans jacket. A little knot in the front later and you were ready to go out - well that was if Harrison was ever going to manage to actually dry your jeans. Did your outfit look great? No, not really, but you figured that it would work for the night since you didn't plan on staying out too long.
A few minutes later you were back in your own jeans and sitting on the boy's bed as he stood in front of his closet, trying to pick a outfit for the night.
"You literally stole the outfit I was going to wear." He chuckled as he looked back at you.
"I can wear something different, I don't care." You shrugged before Harrison shook his head.
"You look way better in it than I ever would, so you're good." He grinned, "And it's not like I even need to make an impression tonight, because I have a girlfriend who likes me for who I am as a person and not my clothes, duh." Dodging the pillow that was thrown at him he let out a laugh as he fired it back at you.
"Yeah and I have a boyfriend who takes five times as long as I do to pick an outfit before going out." You rolled your eyes as you got up and pulled out one of his shirt and a pair of pants, "Wear this."
"You didn't even look if it matched!" Harrison groaned but pulled off his shirt anyway, making you wish you had turned away quick enough before actually seeing what the boy was hiding underneath his shirts.
"Fucking hell, give me a warning next time." You groaned as you turned around while he seemed to change into his other jeans.
"Nothing I should be hiding from my girl." You heard him say as he appeared in front of you and bopped your nose before opening his bedroom door for you, a grin slightly gracing the corners of his lips, "Ready?"
"No." You let out a sigh as you followed your "boyfriend" into the living room where Harry, Sam and Tom were already waiting for the two of you with two cups of whatever Tom had mixed. You could already tell that this evening wasn't going to end well for neither of you four.
"What's that?" Harrison asked as he looked at the phone in your hands.
You had arrived at the party about two hours ago and it was safe to say that the alcohol in your system was definitely working its way. Harry and Sam got lost in the crowd as you stuck to staying close to Harrison and Tom. You were standing next to your "boyfriend", his arm loosely draped across your back when he saw your lock screen for the first time since you started hanging out.
"Uhm, Zac Efron?"
"Why is he your lock screen?" The blonde asked, his eyebrow raised as he looked at the picture of Zac.
"Uhm, because... he's beautiful? Got a problem with that?"
"Baby, do you really think I'm going to let you walk into my parents' house with another guy as your lock screen? Gimme that! I need to change this." Harrison chuckled as he tried to grab the phone out of your hands.
"Piss off, Babe, I'll change it. I'm not making it you though, forget it." You laughed as you tried to keep Harrison from stealing your phone.
The two of you had been getting along surprisingly well for the past few hours, so when Harrison brought up the idea to act like this was the rehearsal for the big show tomorrow, you agreed that it would probably be smarter to see if anyone would buy this whole girlfriend/boyfriend thing - and they did. Girls had been eyeing you up and down the whole night as they sent winks in Harrison's direction, hoping the boy would start talking to them.
"You're acting like a fucking couple and I'm already feeling like the third wheel and the worst thing is that this isn't even you trying to be disgustingly adorable." Tom rolled his eyes after he had been silently watching the interaction between you two with two bottles of beer in his hands.
"Fuck off, Holland." Harrison and you said in sync before bursting out laughing.
"See!" Tom groaned, wildly waving his hands around in front of your faces, "Couple!"
"Don't you have any beer pong games to lose?" You laughed as Tom gasped.
"Lose? I haven't lost a game in ages!"
"Probably because you haven't played with Harrison in ages." You grinned as Harrison pouted.
"I'm just going to act like that didn't hurt my feelings, Love." He said as he pulled you closer into his side.
"This is what I signed myself up for for the weekend? Can I still cancel?" Tom groaned as his eyes wandered back and forth between the two of you, a smile gracing his lips.
"This, my friend, is what you signed all of us up for. This whole thing is literally your fault Tom, so you're going to watch me and my girl be cute for the whole weekend." Harrison laughed, making your heart skip a beat when he called you his girl.
He had done it before and he would probably do it again, but something inside of you went crazy every time he did it. His girl. Well, more like his girl for the next three days.
Tom went off to go and play beer pong with his brothers as you found yourself sitting on a bench in the backyard, your arms wrapped around the blonde boy next to you so you would stop freezing. Harrison had given you his jacket but somehow you still failed to warm up.
"Are you sure you don't want to go inside?" Harrison chuckled as he saw another shiver run through your body.
"Positive. Too many people." You mumbled as your grip around the boy tightened. Maybe it was the alcohol in your system that made the two of you so comfortable with each other, maybe it was the fact that you had to act like a couple, but all you knew was that you could've gotten used to it.
"I would give you my shirt as well, but then I'd probably freeze my ass off."
"Please don't take off your shirt again." You laughed as images of his half naked body flooded your tipsy mind.
"Why?" You felt him grin against the top of your head, "Didn't like what you saw?"
"The opposite actually." You thought as you heard Harrison start to chuckle next to you, "Did I say that out loud?"
"Yup." He grinned as you freed yourself from his arms, looking at him.
"Oh no, please put that smug grin away, forget I ever said that! You're going to be such a pain in the ass after I just admitted that, aren't you?" You groaned as your hand covered the grin on the boy's face.
"I guess it's fair of you to think that your boyfriend is a hot piece of ass." He mumbled under your hand, making you roll your eyes.
He was. There was no denying it. Harrison Osterfield was one of the most handsome guys you had ever seen, but you were definitely never going to admit it to him, because you knew how annoying he would get as soon as he knew that you thought he was good looking.
"I'm probably just drunk and thought about Tom." You shrugged, removing the hand from the boy's mouth which was now wide open.
"D-Did you - Did you just say you think about my best friend while being out here with me?" Harrison looked offended before his look changed into something different - something a lot more dangerous for you.
"I mean, he's a good looking guy." You grinned as Harrison's mouth turned into a smirk. Of course he knew you were full of shit and that you were talking about him.
"Hm, you sure about that? Because I don't see you wearing his jacket or his clothes in general? And I sure as hell don't see you wrapping your arms around him and calling him Babe." He grinned.
The tension between the two of you was back as you felt the coldness inside your body fade away. The feeling of wanting to do nothing more than to press your lips against his soft pink ones was back. Harrison's eyes flickered down to your lips as you felt yourself pull your bottom lip between your teeth.
"Don't do that." Harrison muttered as his thumb went up to your mouth to free your lip from the grip of your teeth. You could've sworn you felt a bolt of electricity shoot through your body as his finger touched the soft skin on your lips for the first time, "That just makes me frustrated about you only agreeing to two kisses."
"I-I said two .. a-and one practice kiss." Your voice was supposed to be so much louder, so much stronger, but it came out as a whisper.
"So, about that practice kiss?" Harrison grinned, "Wanna do it now or do you want me to ask Tom if he wanted to be the one to take this practice kiss from me since he seems to be the guy you think about more than your actual boyfriend?"
"Oh shut up." You laughed, hitting the boy's chest.
"So?" Harrison smiled as he pulled you closer.
You didn't know if it was the alcohol in you that made you act like that or if it was just the pure frustration that Harrison put you through at the moment, but something inside of you took over and made you straddle him as his eyes widened by your actions. He was definitely not expecting you to agree to doing the practice kiss now after you had told him you weren't going to kiss him in front of people that weren't his family.
"Hi there." The boy's blue eyes were watching your every move as his hands found their way to your waist.
"So, wanna do this?" You rolled your eyes but couldn't help the smile from showing on your face.
"Do I want to do this? Uh yeah, I believe so." Harrison grinned as your hands went to his neck to pull him in for this much awaited kiss. Your eyes fluttered shut, as you felt the boy's lips collide with your own as his grip on your waist got firmer.
"Harrison! (Y/N)! You have to see this!" You heard Tom shout as he came running outside, making you pull apart quicker than you wanted to.
"I'm going to fucking kill him. Holy fuck, what is wrong with this kid's timing." Harrison groaned as he intertwined your hands before the two of you got up to make your way over to Tom.
"You've, uhm, got a little something there." Tom smirked as he pointed to the lipstick that was now decorating Harrison's lips.
"You are so dead." Harrison declared as Tom's eyes widened. The brunette started running away from his friend who was about to chase him through the whole house just to land a clap on the back of the poor boy's head.
