Chapter 13

Sounds like a great roast until you remember how desperate you were about calling me Handsome and how much you liked me without my shirt on xx

Harrison saw you throw your head back in annoyance at his text and he couldn't help but let out a chuckle. Why was is that even just messaging you felt like the most fun he's ever had in his whole life?

I literally hate you. You're never going to let this go, are you?

You regretted calling him Handsome the minute you had said it and you most definitely regretted letting him know that he had made you weak when he took off his shirt.

Nope. Any classes after or do you want to hang out?

You smiled at Harrison still wanting to hang out with you. Neither of you really knew how this friendship between the two of you would work out but both of you were desperate to not just throw it away.

Thinking about taking up his offer, you realized you should head home to get some rest since you hadn't slept a minute the past night.

Miss me already, huh? No classes but I really need a nap tbh, maybe later today?

Harrison wanted to tell you that he needed sleep as well and that you could take a nap together, but how weird would that sound to ask you to spend time together to just simply take a nap? And why did you need a nap anyway? Was there a possibility of you sleeping just as miserable as he did without you?

I always miss you, Beautiful ;)

The boy knew he had reached your limits when he saw you shake your head before putting your phone away to concentrate on the slides in front of you - so he did the same.

It was 12pm when you arrived at home. Throwing your bag on the floor next to your desk, you crashed into your bed as you craved nothing more than a nap right now. Last night had been a nightmare as you did not fall asleep at all just because you couldn't get freaking Harrison Osterfield out of your mind.

You had managed to change into comfy clothes before you crawled back under your sheets and waited for sleep to pull you in. Little did you know that your brain was still too busy thinking about the little conversation you had with Harrison over your text messages during class.

I always miss you, Beautiful.

What's that supposed to mean? Of course this was just Harrison being a flirty little shit, but you two had an agreement. A couple for the weekend, project partners for the next few weeks and maybe friends after all that, but here he was telling you he missed you. You could only imagine the stupid grin on the boy's face as he had typed that message, that stupid grin that had all girls falling for him, that stupid grin that kept showing up in your brain as you tried to fall asleep. You kept tossing and turning before you realized that there was no way that you were getting any sleep.

Harrison had the same plan as you did. Tom was still stuck in his lectures when the blonde arrived at home, making Tessa get into his bed with him as he tried to fall asleep - without any luck. The dog next to him was fast asleep as he pulled out his phone, debating on whether or not to text you and risking to wake you up from your nap.

You were staring at your ceiling as you let out a frustrated groan. Why the fuck could you not fucking sleep without your mind going back to this stupid fucking boy? You were used to sleeping alone, you had spent the last two years sleeping alone in your bed, and now your brain was trying to convince you that after three nights with Harrison you somehow were unable to sleep alone?

Pulling out your phone you thought about texting Harrison that you were down to hang out now since your planned nap was not happening but decided against it until you saw the boy start typing, making your heart beat faster.

Is it already later today?

You couldn't help but smile at the message as you decided to get out of bed since there was no possibility of you falling asleep.

You're annoying.

Harrison let out a chuckle at your immediate reply, still hoping he hadn't woken you up from your planned nap.

So, are you coming over or? Xx

You had already thrown your important things in your bag before you got dressed in something other than your old sleeping shirt and made your way out of your front door to Harrison and Tom's place.

Yeah fine, on my way.

Not knowing what was expecting you once you would get to the boy's flat, you thought about how yesterday evening went. Everything was just so familiar between the two of you. You talked about stuff you never thought you could talk to him about and to your own surprise he was a really good listener, but did you really have that much in common that you could spend a whole afternoon together without running out of topics to talk about or things to say?

You started this friendship with Harrison on a basis of him going from your project partner to your fake boyfriend within a week of knowing each other, and yet he somehow managed to sneak his way into your brain like that, leaving you sleep deprived after a night of not being in a fake relationship anymore.

Ringing the boy's doorbell, you were soon greeted by not only Harrison himself, but also by a beautiful grey Staffy you had not met yet. Of course Tom and Harrison talked about Tessa a lot but she was with Tom's parents for the past week, so you didn't get to meet her before.

Holding out your hand for Tessa to get familiar with you, you crouched down to pet her, which she seemed pretty enthusiastic about as she tried to immediately lick your face as you got to the same height as her.

"Hey Beautiful." You giggled as your fingers petted the dog's fur, making her wag her tail even more.

"I can't believe you greeted the dog before you greeted me." Harrison pouted as you got back up to finally greet him.

"Oh stop crying about it, Osterfield." You laughed as you were pulled into a hug by the blonde.

You felt as if your whole body started tensing up and relaxing at the same time. A feeling of warmth and comfort shot through you before it was replaced by a slight nervousness. Now that you weren't fake dating anymore, it was probably going to be a lot more awkward between the two of you, right? I mean, you were still friends, but you were also friends who had kissed - and enjoyed it.

Was it cool for you to hug him? Was it cool for him to hug you? You had no idea, because you had certainly never been in a situation like that before and you had never seen yourself being in a situation like that, especially not with Harrison.

"Did I wake you up from your nap? You look tired." Harrison asked as you pulled away from the hug that had lasted a lot longer than either of you expected.

You hated to admit it but it was hard to not greet him with a kiss and tell him how glad you were about seeing him again - this was stupid right? You knew the guy for a week, how were you already acting like one of those girls he hooked up with? Was he really that good of a kisser that you were longing for his kisses already?

"You really know how to compliment someone." You laughed as you took off your shoes before getting on the same level as Tessa again, making her roll onto her back to give you the permission to pet her belly.

"I didn't mean it like that, you idiot." Harrison chuckled as he leaned against the wall to watch you play with Tess.

The blonde enjoyed watching you. He loved the way your eyes sparkled when you were doing something you enjoyed deeply and he liked to see you smile, because it wasn't just a simple smile. You had that smile that lit up your whole face, that reached from your lips to your eyes and straight underneath the boy's skin as he felt goosebumps appear on his arms. What the fuck?

"I couldn't sleep and since you were the one texting I assume you didn't nap either?" You laughed as you looked up at the boy who watched you with a soft smile on his lips.

"No, which is surprising since I didn't-" Harrison stopped in the middle of his sentence. Was he really about to tell you that he hadn't slept a minute last night? And most of all, was he really about to tell you that you were the one keeping him from sleeping since you hadn't been next to him?

"Since you didn't what?" You raised your eyebrow at the boy as he didn't finish his sentence and seemed to be lost in his thoughts.

"Huh? Oh, uh, n-nothing." The boy smiled as he scratched the back of his neck before making his way towards the living room to sit down on the couch.

Getting up from your now new favourite place in the flat, you followed the boy, Tessa following close behind.

"Is Tom home?" You asked as you plopped down next to Harrison.

"No, why?" Harrison asked as he felt a bolt of jealousy shoot through his body. You didn't like-like Tom, right?

"Uhm, just because?"

"Yeah, no, he's still in class. Might not be home for a few more hours if you want to hang out with him rather than me." He added the last part with a slight pout on his face that made you roll your eyes at him.

"Aw, are you jealous that I like Tommy more than I like you?" You grinned as you felt Harrison look at you with a look that immediately managed to change the tension in the room.

Harrison knew you were currently just trying to wind him up by joking around a little and he knew neither Tom nor you liked each other in that way, but he couldn't help himself but feel the need to tell Tom later that you were off limits as his brain showed him pictures of the brunette and you joking around and laughing along to stupid things ate the wedding yesterday.

"Jealous? Me?" Harrison scoffed, "Did you forget who you're talking to?" He grinned as he threw his legs up on the couch to place his feet in your lap.

"Get your ugly ass feet off me, Harrison or I will literally kill you."

"I'd like to see you try." Harrison grinned as he didn't show any intention to movie his feet.

"I'm too tired for this, H. Please just move your feet." You groaned as you let your head rest against the back of the couch.

"You know, you could've come over later? I don't want you ending up sleep deprived just because I wanted to hang out." Harrison chuckled as he removed his feet from your lap.

"Yeah I know, but I can't seem to fall asleep. I slept exactly zero minutes last night." You groaned as you felt your eyes get heavier.

Harrison was going to tell you that you weren't the only one who didn't sleep at all but what would that mean for the two of you? Clearly this was just a coincidence that neither of you had gotten any sleep last night, but he also felt himself starting to yawn more and more during the next few minutes.

"I'm not going to lie, I'm probably about to fall asleep in a minute, and I can see you're tired as well, so come on, we're taking a nap." Harrison smiled as he got up from his seat on the couch before offering you his hand to pull you up as well.

"I came over for you to tell me we should take a nap?" You laughed as you followed him into the bedroom, your hand still holding Harrison's.

"You look tired and I'm tired, so let's sleep," he shrugged before jumping on his bed and holding a pillow in front of him as if he needed it for protection, "besides, if we sleep I don't have to listen to you or look at you." He grinned as you let out a gasp.

"Excuse me?"

"I said-" Harrison started as you gave him a look that shut him up really quick, "I'm tired, I need sleep, come cuddle." He begged as his hands reached out for you since you were still taking your time to join him.

Come cuddle, what does that mean? You weren't dating - no, fake dating - anymore and were you really that comfortable with each other already that you you could casually cuddle without it meaning anything?

"I uhm, I kind of need to borrow-"

"Just grab a shirt and some pants. You probably know my closet better than I do by now." The blonde interrupted you as he watched you make your way towards his clothes.

"It's not my fault that you want to nap. I got dressed for something that was not sleeping." You explained as you went through the boy's clothes to find something comfy.

"We can do something more active later if you want but I can guarantee you that I'm going to falling asleep if we don't take this nap right now." Harrison said as you turned around to look at him. He was already buried underneath his sheets as he watched you, a sleepy grin displayed on his lips.

You knew you needed this nap as much as he did but you were scared to realize that you were able to fall asleep with Harrison next to you because this nap was another exception and he would not be there if you would struggle again to fall asleep in your own bed.

"Could you, uhm, close your eyes or put the pillow over your face because I need to change." You said as you saw Harrison debating on whether or not to say the thought that crossed his mind out loud, "Don't say it, just close your eyes."

"I wasn't going to say anything!" Harrison protested but the grin on his face told you otherwise.

"Of course not, Harrison. Now close your fucking eyes, I'm too lazy to go to the bathroom." You said again as he put the pillow over his eyes.

Putting on a pair of the boy's grey sweatpants and a white shirt, you decided that it was a great idea to throw yourself onto the boy who was still holding the pillow over his eyes.

"Ah - fuck." He groaned as you jumped onto the bed - or more like on top of Harrison, probably almost crushing his ribs, "Are you trying to kill me?"

"Yeah, that's why I'm here." You laughed as the boy removed the pillow from his eyes.

"I invite you to sleep with me and all I get is a bruised body." Harrison smirked as he looked at you as you got under the covers next to him.

"I'm just going to pretend you didn't say that." You smiled as you flicked your finger onto his forehead before he managed to grab your hand and pull you closer to him as his arms wrapped around your front and intertwined your fingers with his.

"Well then I'm going to pretend you stopped talking five minutes ago." He mumbled as he buried his face in your hair, making your heart race as your eyelids got heavier and heavier with each heartbeat.

"I hate you." You chuckled as your other hand found its way into the boy's soft curls while you felt yourself slowly drifting off into a deep slumber - finally.
