Chapter 10

You were lost in your own thoughts as you followed Tom to the living room where everyone was already waiting for the three of you.

Did you just kiss Harrison? For nothing but simply because you wanted to? And did you really enjoy it that much that you felt yourself craving his touch - craving his lips on top of your own - again?

You knew you were exploring dangerous territory and you knew that if you kept this tension with him up, you were destined to end up heartbroken. There wasn't time for you to get heartbroken, you had your own plans for your future and falling for Harrison Osterfield was definitely not one of those plans. So, in that moment, you swore to yourself that this whole thing was over in less than 48 hours - because Harrison didn't do feelings and even if he did, your heart being broken was inevitable.

Harrison saw you overthinking everything that just happened. He could feel you tensing the minute he walked up to you to intertwine your fingers with his own whilst he was talking to his mother. And he couldn't help himself but feel bad about pushing you so hard to do this for him. The boy knew you, of course did this voluntarily in the end, but he also knew that if he hadn't pushed you to do this, you wouldn't be here right now and you wouldn't overthink kissing him in the first place.

You've were 'friends' for less than a week now, but there was no denying that the two of you clicked immediately. That you fit surprisingly well and Harrison knew that he was never the one to notice a slight change in behavior in a person, but with you, he felt like he could read you like an open book.

"Don't overthink too much, Love." Harrison whispered in your ear before placing a soft kiss on your temple.

The blonde knew he might be overstepping the border you had put up for the both of you, but the boy wasn't overthinking it. For the first time in a while he was solely listening to his own emotions - and right now, they told him to not let you go, to not let you ruin this day for yourself, because tomorrow, everything would change again for the two of you.

It was clear that you both wanted to end this tomorrow, mostly because you had set the end date in the first place but also because you were both struggling with your feelings. Neither of you were someone who fell for a person that quick and that easily, but everything seemed so natural between the two of you and it scared the hell out you.

"I'm not overthinking." You said, but you knew you were lying and you knew Harrison knew you were lying as well.

"Let's enjoy this day, it's almost time for the free food and the free drinks I promised you." Harrison grinned as your lips finally showed a smile.

Arriving at the wedding venue, your mouth dropped open. You had been to weddings before and you knew that Harrison had told you that his cousin was going a bit overboard with the decorations and the planning in general, but you didn't expect it to be that beautiful. The flowers, the lights, the chairs - everything looked like straight out of a movie scene and you found yourself wishing that exact same level of beauty for yourself one day.

"That's so beautiful." You smiled as you instinctively grabbed Harrison's hand, making the boy smile at the gesture.

"Not as beautiful as you." Harrison grinned as you punched his chest with your free hand, "Ouch!"

"Stop it. You know I hate your stupidly charming pick-up lines." You groaned when you saw Harrison's parents approach the two of you.

"So, when are we planning yours huh?" Phil grinned as Brian rolled his eyes.

"It's been two months, mum." Harrison laughed as he squeezed your hand.

"I can tell when something fits and is meant to be, Darling." She grinned as Brian patted Harrison's shoulder.

"You're going to regret bringing her." He grinned at you, "Pretty sure she was ready to be a grandmother again the minute she saw you two together for the first time."

"Alright, we need to calm down a bit." Harrison laughed, only a split second before something or more like someone wrapped their arms around his legs, pushing in between you and him. His little niece.

"Ahh, I'm being attacked by a little princess." Harrison chuckled as he let go of your hand to greet her.

The little girl was incredibly sweet and you couldn't help but smile as you watched the interaction between Harrison and her. You never pictured Harrison for that much of a family person. Of course you figured that he loved his family and all that, but the boy was such a momma's boy, it was super cute.

Harrison around his family was something only Tom had seen so far and he knew that he was a completely different person around his family which is why the boy was glad that you had agreed to this because to his own surprise, he didn't want you to see him as this fuckboy who only toyed with girl's hearts - because he definitely wasn't.

"So, Eva, I'm going to introduce you to someone and you're going to be nice, okay?" Harrison smiled as his eyes found yours.

Picking up the girl he took a step towards you, "So little princess, this is my other princess. (Y/N) meet Eva, Eva meet (Y/N)."

"You said I was the only princess in this world." Eva pouted as she squinted her eyes at Harrison, "You lied to me."

Possessive. Definitely.

"I already told you, Harrison. There is only one princess on this earth and thought I told you that it wasn't me." You rolled your eyes as you grinned at Harrison, "Nice to meet you, princess Eva."

"Who are you then? If you're not his princess?" She asked, still not too impressed by you showing up at that wedding.

"She's my girlfriend." Harrison smiled at you as you felt the heat spread in your cheeks again.

"Are you and Uncle Har going to come and play barbies with me some time?" She smiled as her eyes lit up, "Aunty Char does it all the time!"

"Definitely." Harrison smiled as he let her sink to the ground to let her sprint off again.

And with that, you committed to a playdate with Harrison's niece although you weren't so sure if you would ever see her again, but that also meant that the ice between the two of you was now broken.

"Harrison!" A woman's voice rang from behind you, making you turn around.

"Sister-in-law." Harrison quickly whispered in your ear as he laid his arm around your back.

The woman introduced herself as Lauren and told you how happy she was to finally meet you since she had never thought of someone actually dating her brother-in-law. You chatted to her for a while while Harrison excused himself to go check in with a few other people of his family when Lauren's Husband walked over to the two of you - Harrison's nephew in his arms.

"So, (Y/N), I don't know if Harrison has told you about our latest addition to the family, but this is Theo." She smiled as she took the toddler from her husband's arms whilst the little boy was still only looking at you intensely as if he still wasn't sure whether to trust you or not, "He's almost two years old."

The boy rested his head on his mother's shoulder before his lips spread into a grin, making you smile as well. You continued your little chat when she was being called to assist the bride with something. With Harrison being in a conversation with Tom and her husband nowhere to be seen, the woman asked you if you wouldn't mind looking after her son for a few minutes and of course you didn't mind.

Harrison may have been talking to Tom, but he definitely was still watching you while you were talking to his sister-in-law. Tom had to snap him back into reality and ask him if he was even listening a few times after he had zoomed out while looking at you.

The blonde saw Lauren hand you Theo before she was called to assist the bride. Seeing you with his little nephew in his arms almost made his heart burst with probably every emotion he could feel.

"You're already so fucking whipped." Tom laughed when he saw Harrison look at you as you made you way over to the two if them whilst Theo was playing with your hair.

"Shut it, Tom." Harrison shushed him only a split second before you reached them.

"Found someone." You smiled at Harrison who was displaying a soft smile on his lips that made your heart flutter.

"Suits you." Tom grinned as he patted his best friends shoulder, "You're a lucky guy."

"I'm going to f-" Harrison started but then his eyes landed on his nephew who was looking at him with wide eyes, "You know what I'm going to do."

"Want to say Hi to uncle Har?" Harrison smiled at his nephew as he held out his arms for you to hand him over to him.

"No." The boy shook his head as his grip around your neck tightened, making you laugh.

"D-did he just say no?" Harrison gasped as Tom burst out laughing, "I thought you liked me." He laughed as he poked the toddler's sides, making him giggle.

Harrison was still trying to get Theo to greet him as everyone was asked to get seated for the ceremony. The three of you spotted Harrison's family settling down in the third row as you headed towards them, Theo still occupied with your hair. With Harrison and Tom taking the outer seats, you sat down on Harrison's left, next to Harrison's mother.

"How did you end up with this little rascal?" She laughed as he squished Theo's cheeks. You had carefully placed the boy on your lap as you were still looking out for his parents who were nowhere to be seen. The boy's sister was sat next to Charlotte as she was braiding the Eva's hair.

"Lauren had to go and help the bride with something, and I don't know where his dad is." You laughed.

"Suits you." She winked as she bumped shoulders with you, making you feel incredibly flustered again.

You weren't even dating Harrison and here you were, sitting next to his mother at a family wedding while holding his nephew and getting told that a child suited you - and the worst part was, that you felt yourself getting attached to this family. Everyone was being so incredibly nice to you while you did nothing but lie to them.

Theo was trying to tell Harrison something. The blonde still hadn't given up in trying to get him to voluntarily scoot over into his lap as Lauren and Tobias finally approached your row, sitting down on the other side next to Charlotte and Eva.

"Look, your parents are back." You smiled at Theo before pointing into the direction of his mother who was waving at him and making grabby hands at him, signalling him that she was ready to take him back into her arms.

"No. Theo and (Y/N)." The little boy giggled as he managed to stand up on your lap and bounce up and down for a bit.

"Don't even try, he didn't even greet me." Harrison chimed in from next to you as his family started laughing.

"Are you okay with holding him or do you want me to take him?" Lauren asked, a smile gracing her lips.

"I'm good at the moment." You laughed as Theo started bouncing again.

Harrison was amazed by you. There were no other words than to say that he was simply blown away by seeing how perfect you fit into his family. It felt so natural to see you with his little nephew. It had felt so natural to see you taking the place next to his mother before casually chatting to her for a bit. And it felt so natural when he reached over during the wedding ceremony to hold your hand.

"You may now kiss the bride." The wedding officiant announced as you smiled at the couple a few feet away from you. Harrison's cousin was a beautiful bride and the wedding ceremony in general was incredibly sweet. Theo had fallen asleep during the ceremony which is why he was now back in his dad's arms.

"I'm not going to get you alone today, am I?" Harrison grinned as the two of you followed the guests outside after the ceremony had ended - hands still intertwined.

Tom had gotten lost somewhere on the way and you figured he had found someone to chat to.

"Hmm, probably not." You smiled as you turned your head to look at your unbelievably handsome boyfriend - fake boyfriend - next to you.

"Such a shame." Harrison grinned as you felt him pull you closer, to the point where your lips were almost touching but not quite there yet.

Harrison was waiting for you to make the next move. He knew you had felt uncomfortable after this morning's kiss and he didn't think it was right for him to steal another kiss where you would overthink your decision to agree to this.

So he waited for you to connect your lips with his - and you did.

The kiss was disgustingly sweet. No tension, no lust, nothing but pure emotions. You were scared to open your eyes after you felt Harrison pull away. Mostly because this would mean the kiss was over but also because it meant that you had to face the fact that this might be a lot more than you trying to convince Harrison's family that you were dating - because maybe it was also about trying to convince yourself that you were in fact NOT dating.
