TWO MONTHS had passed since Kyra had officially joined the Resistance, and since the destruction of the Star Killer base, things had been surprisingly calm for the Resistance. Finn had woken up from his medically induced coma, joining within the ranks of the Resistance silently. He was one of Kyra's closest confidantes, and one of her closest friends. They had been on a couple of missions together since his injury, their bond growing tight- much like the one Kyra has with Fox and Silas. There were still times she still missed the latter like hell.

Rey had quietly left to go off on a quest with Han to go and track down Luke Skywalker on whatever island that he had secluded himself on in a planet very far away. Much to Leia and Han's chagrin, Kyra didn't go with her. It wasn't worth it to go and drop a bombshell on the Jedi. Besides, he would meet her soon enough when he came back. Kyra didn't want to spend a moment away from Poe and Fox- not when she had just gotten the both of them back.

And as for her and Poe? They had been doing- well, amazing. They had been on some missions together, and their week they had spent together traversing the galaxy was something special- something that she would never forget. Nothing had been so easy, so simple in her life.

However, when the First Order tracks down the Resistance on their planet, forcing a battle around the planet of D'Qar that doesn't end with anything but bloodshed, things get a little bit more complicated than what things used to be for Kyra. Especially when the First Order surprises Kyra in the worst situation possible- a choice between staying with her Resistance friends or the death of one of her oldest friends.

Nothing that the newfound Skywalker can't handle- right?

[there will be MANY things that stray from canon inside of this story. the most obvious would probably be the fact that there is an additional four years between the empire strikes back and the return of the jedi, which means the entire timeline is altered. this is because all of my star wars books are connected, and my luke skywalker fic takes place in those four years. also, in order to make my face claim work with poe dameron, I made poe's age be 26 in this universe. if there are any other things inside of canon that I change later on, I'll be sure to preface them. this is just your first heads up of many about the changes that have occurred in this fic and the interconnected ones. ]
