THE FLASHBACK CONTINUES.

SISTER TAYO'S POV

"Can you work for me? you can achieve a lot with me". Don said during one of his visits. I didn't like the idea at first but Remi was too covetous that she persuaded me and I obliged.

The duty was to deliver hard drugs mostly cocaine to orderers, we were told that some orderers can be deceptive sometimes; they might want to get the goods and not pay by killing the dealers so, we were taught how to handle guns.

Remi met Tunde, he was one of Don's apprentice. They started a relationship of which Don was in support of, their wedding was the talk of the town. Don gave them a lot of money to plan the wedding.

Years later, when I was a bit older; Don said he wanted to have a relationship with me. I declined.

Don was a murderer, he killed most orderers in the delivery location all in the name of money. If he suspects any of his apprentices, he'd murder them without mercy. He'd always say to us: "That is how my mentor taught me." And by that, he was referring to our parents. I can't believe our parents could be so mean. He told us that he trusts us that was why he made us his dealers but, to be honest, he pays a lot though. We were not able to back off because of the money we were gaining. Don was older, old enough to be our father. He was in his late forties.

We've barely worked with him for a year when Tunde and Remi planned to steal from him. As usual, Remi was asked to deliver goods to the orderers, she did as planned. She didn't deliver the goods to the orderer that she was supposed to meet instead, she delivered to another orderer who was unknown to Don.

Most dealers who worked for Don were scared of him, but we were not. We've witnessed how he'd hire assassins to murder any of his dealers that didn't deliver or come to him with his money. We thought we were family, we thought we've gotten to a level where he cared so much for us, but we were wrong.

I received a text from Remi telling me to come over to Don's.
"How come?" I could hear Don's voice from the entrance as I walked in.

"I-I-I got attacked." She stammered and continued. "We, I mean I - got to the location and they attacked me, they took the goods from me and left." She bowed.

"You were armed right, so how come?" He said quietly like he wasn't upset.

"I was armed, I took my gun along. I was caught unaware, they pinned me down and took my gun and the goods." Remi said.

He took his cup filled with whatsoever and continued.
"Well, you know the rules. You have twenty-four hours to get my goods or else, you're gone." He smiled and continued.

"B-u-t," I stammered and continued. "You know this has never happened before. Please pardon her."
Actually, that was the plan, we both knew Don wouldn't kill her or maybe he would, the thought of Don doing anything bad to her brushed goosebumps across my body. I'm assured we still have the money we got from the goods. We've earned enough from this but Remi and Tunde were not contented. Tunde met a buyer that was willing to pay higher than Don's orderers, so we made a profit from it.

Tunde and Remi were supposed to give Don the exact money for the goods and remove their profit, but instead, they wanted to have all the money.

"Get me my money, Remi." He faced her.

"And you, Tayo. If you really want to save your sister; you know what to do." He walked away and his escorts followed him.

Remi looked very worried. We walked out of the house.
"Remi, but you still have Don's money with you, well, aside from the profits though. Please just give him his money or still buy other goods for him."

"He won't do anything to me, when it's getting really bad we'll give him the money. But let's still risk it." Remi smiled.

"He told me that I know what to do, what does he mean by that.?" I was confused.

"You two, I guess it's about the relationship he wants with you."

"Ew, never" I looked irritated.

"Come to think of it, why don't you date him. At least for a while until this is over, just pretend like you want to date him" Remi uttered.

"Uh, I should date him, because of what you two did. Hell no, that's impossible. That man is irritating."

"Please just do this for me, you know this money is for both of us and Tunde, but imagine what we can do with that massive money. Please. He's not really that bad, or do you want me dead? "

"No, but you have other options than letting him kill you, return his money Remi."
I walked away, I can't imagine having a relationship with that man.

PRESENT DAY

ROSE'S POV.

I got to school very early, and I was the only one in the classroom. I really liked how quiet the class could be when no one was around.

I arranged my desk, picked my notes and textbooks for the day. After, I laid my head on my locker. I just hope Alex would also be here, just the two of us alone; so we could talk and no one would try to pry into our business.

I looked up and I saw a figure, no doubt that the person looked familiar. Looking further upward, it was Alex. I guess mind wishers were around somewhere.

Our eyes locked and for a while, he stood and stared and me, I stared back like we were trying to pass a message without talking.
I looked away and he regained balance and walked towards our desk.

"Good morning" He smiled. I don't why he smiled but I guess he faked it, fake or not, it's lovely. I was able to face him again, he looked confused, his eye bags were heavy. It's quite obvious that he hasn't been sleeping. Despite his worrisome face he still managed to look really nice, he smells really nice too. I don't know why I'm just noticing this, I guess it's because we're not on good terms.

Alex is tall, a little bit fair in complexion, and his haircut is admirable. Looking further into his eyes I saw a sad boy who needed help.

"Good morning Rose" He repeated.

"Ye-a-h, good morning."I stammered.

Now the class was getting filled up already, everyone kept staring at us. We sat side by side and we were looking in the same direction. It's creepy but I was so lost in my thoughts and I guess he was too.

Everyone thought Alex would be hating on me by now because they heard how Alex accused me of exposing his mum. Come to think of it, what if he's trying to get back at me by being nice. Suddenly I became paranoid, my face wipe fell and he took it for me. With a smile. No doubt he's up to something, what if he's trying to play a prank on me. I adjusted my chair a little from him. He didn't notice, or I guess he did and he didn't want to check out why.

After a while he looked at me again and smiled, I smiled back. Ok, this is getting creepy. My subconscious added.
Immediately I stood up and walked towards the door to find David or Martha. I'm getting freaked out already. I could sense his eyes on me as I walked towards the door. Luckily I found Martha.

"Hey!!! Good morning". I said horridly.

"Good morning, calm down why're you shaking." She said almost laughing.

"Alex is being nice, like nice nice., and it's freaking me out".

"Ok. Alex is nice, we all know that." She smiled.

"Yeah, but he's too nice. Look I don't think you get me. Nevermind." I walked away.

I walked back into my seat and Alex and I exchange glares.
I decided to burst the odds.
"See, I'm sorry about all this, I just want you to know that I am not the one behind all that... " I tried to clear my mind.

"Ok. He smiled again.

I knew that was fake. Gladly I spotted David coming our way. Alex stood up like he has been expecting him. They had guy hugs.

"I've missed you dude" David smiled.

Now I looked like the intruder.

David gave me a warm smile and I guess that was a greeting.

"Alex can we talk privately. Like somewhere private, we need to talk."
Somewhere private!!! What could they be up to.? I know they are boys but still, are they going to talk about me? My subconscious asked.

"Sure, excuse us, Rose," Alex said.
He is nice but I still feel there was some sort of emptiness in his words. Like he was being too formal.
I just hope David is with me not against me.
