Anna showed up at the address, she was out in the open for anyone to take a shot at her. She knew it, yet she promised her deceased partner to do what it took.

Three SUV's rolled up and Anna stood unfazed as they exited the car. The killer was in her sight, she would have finished it right here and then, but she did want to live after taking them down.

"Who is this woman you're talking about?" Jay asked his partner, Hailey explained what Trudy had told them this morning. None of them knew if they should be worried or contact Antonio, so they kept quiet and waited for any more clues to come up, so far no crimes were related to it, so they didn't bother doing much more.

Anna was taken to a nightclub where Isaiah took her to the back room. They went over the terms of the deal, and even though Isaiah insisted on sealing the deal with a quick fuck– Anna declined.

Fresh memories of her night with Jay Halstead flashed in her mind. She also had no intentions of sleeping with her partner's killer.

She had no way of contacting this Jay Halstead, so she hoped she would bump into him sometime soon.

After deciding to get some dinner, she got dressed and walked to a nearby restaurant. She sat down and ordered food for herself, she was lost in her phone when she heard the restaurant door opening once again.

Jay walked in, exhausted by the case he'd caught today, he just wanted to pick up his food and go home and eat it in peace.

Though out of habit, he looked around the restaurant, scanning everyone's faces. A soft exhale released from his lips when he saw the brunette in the furthest corner, the one who'd left him after sharing a night with him.

"Here's your food" The waiter said and handed Jay his bag of food, Jay paid and thanked the guy before walking over to Anna.

Anna felt his presence immediately and looked up from her phone and smiled. "Jay, hi" She said in an innocent voice. She could only hope he wouldn't be mad at her for leaving.

"Hi, Anna" Jay said with a smirk. Anna raised an eyebrow at how he knew her name, because she didn't tell him last night.

"How did you–""--I believe this is yours" He said and handed her a card. Anna furrowed her brows and took the card from his hands.

It was her drivers license. "Oops" Anna said with a wince. "Are you grabbing dinner too?" Jay asked with a small laugh.

"Yeah, is it good here?" Anna asked and nodded her head towards the brown paper bag with what she assumed was food.

"Yeah, the burgers are amazing, you should try it" Jay said and Anna smiled. "Good thing that's what I ordered," Anna replied with a grin.

Anna's food arrived and was set down in front of her, which made her ask Jay if he wanted to join her. Which he said yes to and he sat down.

"So, how long did you say you were in Chicago for?" Jay asked after popping another fry in his mouth. "I don't know yet, with what I do it depends on how the job goes" Anna said.

"That sounds mysterious, what do you do?" Jay asked and took another bite of his burger afterwards. "I'm an assistant" Anna said, remembering telling him that last night.

"Yes, but what do you do?" Jay asked with a small laugh. "I can't tell you" Anna said in a sultry, teasing voice and winked at him.

"And why is that?" Jay asked, Anna leaned closer to him over the table and he did as well. "Because you're a cop" Anna whispered with a smirk.

Jay rolled his eyes playfully and Anna laughed. "I'm kidding, I'm a lawyer's assistant. So, it depends on the cases" Anna said and took a sip of her beer.

"That sounds exciting, so you're gonna be in town for a while" Jay said, Anna caught on and nodded her head, with a smile.

"Yeah, so this doesn't have to be the last time for the next month or so" Anna said, Jay smirked a little as he gazed at her.

"Wanna dance?" Jay asked after a few quiet minutes. Anna laughed softly and bit her lip, of course she wanted to. "Can't say no to that, I know what I'm in for" Anna said and smiled at Jay.

The two wrapped it up and got out of the restaurant together, Jay drove them to Anna's hotel and followed her to the elevator.

As soon as the doors closed, both turned towards each other and slammed their lips onto each other's, wasting no more time.
