Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Third Person POV
*Blofis Household (same year as last chapter)*
As we float through the halls of a simple house on the outskirts of New York, we see a small girl, around the age of ten, looking at some older photos with a look of confusion. This girl's name is Estelle Blofis. And the reason she is staring at the photos is because of the sudden change that occured in the photos. For as she looks at the photos from years ago, she sees a consistency of photos with her mother, and a young boy. And through the photos this boy slowly got older and older each year (obviously), but as she gets closer to the newer photos, she notices the boys presence being less and less frequent. Until the last photo she sees of the boy, looks to be from probably close to a year or more before she was even born, and in the photo she sees the boy looking around the age of sixteen, maybe even a little less. But then, he vanishes. Never seen in the photos to come. Replaced slowly by herself, but as she looks at the photos as they get newer and newer, she sees that her parents aren't nearly as happy as they were back when this boy was in their life. And she can't help but wonder, who was this boy? And she knows just how to find out.
*Baby time skip to night time*
As we watch a middle aged Sally Jackson Blofis tucking her daughter into her bed, her daughter takes her chance to ask what she has been wondering for years.
"Mommy, who is that boy I see in all the older photos?" Estelle asked quietly
"What was that sweetie" Sally responds, having not expected Estelle to ask anything this night.
"Who is that boy in all the older photos?" Estelle repeated.
As we watch Sally quickly process the question, we see a small look of sadness cross her features, "That boy, is your older brother sweetie" Sally responded softly, a hint of sadness in her voice.
"What happened to him mommy?"
"He had to go away" Sally responded simply, hoping to avoid the hard subject just a little bit longer.
"Why did he have to go away?" Estelle asked in confusion.
"Let me bring your father in here, and then we will tell you a story." Sally responded
*time skip five minutes*
As Paul walks into his daughters room, having finished grading some tests for his English students, Estelle could see a sad smile on his face that matched that of her mothers.
"Is it time?" Paul asked, turning towards his wife.
"I believe so." Sally responded sadly. "So Estelle, as I said earlier, the boy in the photos is our brother." Sally began
"Ok but again, why did he have to go away." Estelle asked, still with slight confusion.
"We are getting there sweetie, but first we must explain a few things." Paul responded.
"To start off, you should know that your father wasn't my first love." Sally started off, catching Estelle off guard with her claim.
"What do you mean mommy?"
"Well sweetie, I fell in love, years before I met your father I fell in love." Sally replied staring off into the distance as if recalling a fond memory.
"With who mommy?" Estelle asked, sadly at the thought of her mommy loving someone other than her daddy.
"Before we tell you that Estelle, we must first ask if you remember the stories we told you all those years ago." Paul asked, taking some attention from their curious daughter off of her mother
"Which ones daddy, you told lots of stories. The ones about the princess in the tower, the ones about the dragons and the knights, the ones about the greeks and monsters, or the ones about the fat walrus man that disappeared?" Estelle asked curiously
At this Sally couldn't help but chuckle, thinking about the story she made up about Percy's first step father. "The ones about the greeks sweetie" Sally responded.
"Yes I remember them, I really liked the stories of Artemis and how she helped young girls. And all the adventures they would have" Estelle responded while staring off into the distance remembering all the stories her parents told her.
"Well sweetie, what would you say if we told you, that all of those stories, were true?" Paul asked slowly.
"What do you mean they are true? And what does this have to do with mommy's first love" Estelle questioned, pure confusion showing on her little ten year old face.
"What we mean sweetie, is that the greek myths are not myths after all, they are all true. And what this has to do with my first love, is who it was" Sally responded kindly
"Who was your first love mommy? Was it a god like Apollo?" Estelle asked.
"Well sweetie" Sally responded chuckling slightly at the thought of it being Apollo. "It was a god, but it wasn't Apollo."
"Who was it then mommy?"
"We will give you a hint sweetie" Paul started "He created horses."
Estelle sat there thinking through all the stories she was told, trying to remember who it was that created horses. After a couple of minutes, she landed on one name, and decided to ask it this was who it was.
"Was it Poseidon mommy?" Estelle asked, with slight excitement at her mommy meeting the god of the sea. Having heard many stories about him, most of which, unknown to her, were slightly altered and never mentioned any of his many... triumphs over women.
"Yes sweetie it was Poseidon" Sally responded softly.
"Sweet!!" Estelle exclaimed, before confusion overtook her features again "But what does this have to do with my brother"
Paul couldn't help but chuckle at his little girl, "Well you see sweetie, Poseidon and your mommy, had a son, and this son was your brother Perseus." Paul responded softly.
"So my brother is God?" Estelle asked excitedly
The two parents couldn't help but chuckle at how close their daughter was "No sweetie he is not God. Do you remember what children of a god and a mortal were called, in the stories we told you?" Sally asked slowly.
Again Estelle sat there for a few short minutes trying to think up the answer to the question. "Oh oh oh, I got it, I got it mommy, they were called demigods! So my brother is a demigod."
"Correct sweetie, they are called demigods, and yes your brother was a demigod son of me, and Poseidon" Sally responded to her daughter.
"That's so cool! Did he go on any adventures, did he fight any monsters?" Estelle asked in excitement.
Again Sally and Paul couldn't help but chuckle at her excitement to hear about her lost brother.
"Yes he went on many adventures and fought many monsters" Sally responded, and as the night wore on they told Estelle of all of his adventures, throughout his years as a demigod.
And as this family talked of the one they lost, up in the city floating high above them, a husband and a wife, used their domains over family and humans to listen in, and couldn't help but smile at the young girls excitement.
And that is this chapter! I hoped you enjoyed it, and I hope that I didn't absolutely bomb Sally and Paul.
I might have a slight surprise for you next chapter, only time will tell. A very short amount of time, but time nonetheless.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed it. If you have any suggestions for me to fix this chapter or fix the previous ones, please let me know and I might go through and make changes where it was suggested.
