The ride was silent, and no one said a word.

Yibo was staring outside the window and didn't even glance at Zhan, while Zhan just stole glances at him.

Zhan did try to talk to Yibo but the latter refused to reply, his body was stiff and when Zhan saw the dirty clothes and his deshelved appearance his grip on the steering wheel tightened and he felt rage.

Any respect that he had left for Micah and any sense of friendship that he had left for Gina were now gone, the father-daughter duo were now his enemies and he couldn't care less about them.

Once they reached the apartment, Zhan quickly got out of the car, helped Yibo get down, and walked towards his apartment.

Yibo was stiff and eerily quiet Zhan noticed that Yibo's jaw was clenched and his body was stiff.

Once they came outside of his apartment, Yibo refused to let Zhan come in, "Yibo..."

"Go away." He finally spoke. Yibo took a step away from Zhan and didn't even look at him as he opened his apartment door and stepped inside, he was about to shut the door but Zhan prevented him from shutting the door and said, "Yibo please look at me once, just please let me in, talk to me baby please... Yibo please."

"Just go away!" Yibo said in a slightly higher voice and finally shut the door. Zhan stood outside the door while Yibo leaned against the door before he slowly sat down and brought his knees near his chest and kept his head over his knees and starting to shiver.

While Zhan just stood out of the apartment.

It was a dark night when a child ran on the road, the child had bruises on his body and he was crying.

He was starving and thirsty, he felt extreme pain in his body and was immensely scared. As he ran and ran on the road, however, while he was running, he didn't see the car coming towards him and he was hit by the car.

Yibo woke up with a jolt, his body was covered with sweat as he woke up from the nightmare, he took deep breathes as he kept his hand over his chest, he slowly got up, and walked towards the washroom, he felt pain in his abdomen and he felt sick.

He took off his shirt and looked at himself in the mirror, he saw the bruises forming on his body, there were not many bruises on his face but there were many on his body.

He closed his eyes as he felt memories of the past that he blocked were coming back to him, he took deep breaths as he tried to focus on the present, took a shower, and then applied some medicine.

His attention was grabbed when the doorbell rang, he went to open the door and saw Zhan over there, with food. He sighed and was about to shut the door but Zhan stopped him, he looked at him with pleading eyes and begged, "Please Yibo let me in... Please..."

Yibo looked at him, his eyes were filled with mixed emotions, "What are you going to say? You killed two people right before my eyes and you are involved in some shady things and because of you and your best friend I nearly died are you not angry?

"I am angry, angry enough to kill the person who did this to you..."

"You lied for months! You are not some business person, you are god knows what! All those canceled plans, you lied about them too, right? You had no meeting, you..."

Zhan swallowed, "Yibo..."

"Just leave... you have already done enough, I want to be alone, I want to be away from you just leave please Zhan just leave!" Yibo said as he shut the door again and Zhan sighed, he soon received a call from his father and he knew that this was not going to end up well, Gina and Micah must have caused havoc, and suddenly realization dawned upon him that his brother was going to be in big trouble, very big trouble, he gave one last glance to the apartment before he ran towards his car.

When reached his house, his brother's car was already there, he ran inside the house and heard screaming, he soon rushed towards the main hall and the first thing he saw was his brother being slapped by his father.

His eyes widened as he rushed towards Cheng who screamed at his father, "Your bastard of a friend was the one who pulled an innocent civilian into this mess! And I just taught him a lesson and instead of reprimanding him, you are beating me! Is this how things are going to work from now onwards!"

"Shut up! You insolent piece of shit!" Zhan's father yelled back and said, "Micah is not just my right-hand man he is your mentor! He is a trusted person in the organization how dare you shoot him!"

"Are you deaf or what!" Ziyi grabbed Cheng's hand, and Cheng's mother spoke, "You bitch you are the reason my son has gone off the rails! Look at what he has become just because of you!"

"Have you lost it!" Cheng spoke, "I shot Micah because he got a civilian involved, he harmed an innocent person, exposed Zhan's identity, he is the threat! He is the culprit why are you blaming me and her!"

"CHENG!"

"SHUT IT"! Cheng yelled back.

Zhan rushed toward his brother and held his hand, he stood beside Cheng and looked at his father, "It's my fault Dad I..."

"What the fuck is wrong with you Zhan! I had not expected this from you!" His dad said, "How can you date a civilian."

Cheng scoffed, and said sarcastically, "Oh Zhan... How dare you Zhan... how dare you date someone not chosen by these control freaks. How dare you choose who you slept with! How dare you be an adult!"

Zhan's mother said, "You must be the one who encouraged him! You yourself are a disappointment and you are making Zhan like you as well!"

"Independent like me" Cheng yelled back.

Zhan spoke, "Brother please calm down, please we can just sit and talk."

"Are you nuts!" Cheng yelled at him, "You want to talk to these fuckers! These control freaks and ego maniacs who will go against their own rules?!"

His mom said, "Zhan broke the rule by dating a normal person!"

"God you are impossible."

And the argument continued Zhan just sighed, this was a mess.
