Sooooo sorry for my delayed updates! But on a brighter note...

*Cassy's POV*

Five days. I've been locked up in this cell for five days. I needed to know that the others were safe. I needed to find a way to escape and free the others. I needed to get back to Kili.

But I needed to kill Donovan first.

He hasn't been to visit me since he sprung the news of my baby on me - not that I was complaining. I hoped I'd never have to see his face again but I knew that wouldn't happen. The Gods wouldn't be that kind to me.

The only one I had spoken to in those five days was Sanjì who brought me my food and water.

He wasn't even that bad. In a strange way I was actually grateful for his company. He was the only orc who I have actually taken a liking to. I wouldn't say he is my friend but in this place he is the closest thing I have to one.

My gaze snapped up to the door when it opened and I felt myself relax when I saw Sanjì appear and not Donovan.

"Hey San." I sighed as he gave me an almost non-existant smile.

"Cassandra." He nodded gruffly as he sat in front of me and placed my food and water on the ground between us.

"Thank you." I smiled and gratefully ate the food.

"How are you feeling?" He asked nodding to my stomach.

"Still a little queasy but I'm fine." I smiled as I swallowed the first bite of the bread.

"What about you?" I asked him after a moment.

"What?"

I sighed and crossed my legs. "Each time you walk in here I always notice that you have a new scar or injury. Today its your leg, I saw how you were limping in here."

"Its nothing." He replied gruffly.

"Its not nothing. Don't treat me as if I am stupid." I told him as I leant forwards with a frown marring my features. "Who does it to you? Who hurts you?"

I saw uncertainty flicker in his black eyes and my frown deepened.

"Its him, isn't it?" I asked him quietly. "Its Donovan that hurts you? I'm right aren't I?"

He huffed in defeat but nodded nonetheless.

"Why?"

He looked up at me sadly but didn't reply.

"Why does he hurt you, San?"

"He hurts all of us if we disobey." He explained.

"How did you disobey him?" I shuffled closer to him as he looked down.

"He wanted me to torture your friends..." He said making my eyes widen. "And I refused."

"Thank you."

"Huh?"

"Thank you for not hurting my friends. I know you didn't have to do that so thank you."

"I don't like hurting innocent people. You and your friends have done nothing wrong. You don't deserve this." He told me.

"But you don't deserve being treated like this either." I insisted and he merely sighed.

I felt a glimmer of hope when a plan popped in my head.

"San?"

He looked up warily and motioned for me to continue with what I was saying.

"Do you want to be free from Donovan?" I asked.

"More than anything."

"Then I have a proposition for you." I told him in a whisper.

"What is it?"

"If you help me in getting me and my friends out of here then you can come with us and I can promise you that no harm will come to you as long as I am alive." I breathed deeply. "So? What do you say? Will you help me?"

He looked at me intently. "I have a friend here called Cadì... can you promise his safety too if we both help you?"

"Yes." I said immediately. "I promise as long as you help me and my friends."

"Then its a deal." He smiled. "I will come up with a plan and I will talk to Cadì. I'll see you again tomorrow and we can think of something."

"Thank you." I exhaled in relief. "Thank you so much."

"Now eat up." He ordered as he pointed to my food.

I smiled and picked up the bread again.

Maybe there is finally some hope of getting out of here after all.

All I could do now is wait.
