I stopped struggling with the rope and watched as Thorin pushed his way forward to the front of the crowd and stared determinedly at the Goblin King. What was he doing?!

"Well, well, well... who do we have here?" Cackled the Goblin King. "Thorin, Son of Thrain, Son of Thror... King under the Mountain..." the Goblin King dipped into a low, mocking bow. "Oh! But I'm forgetting you don't have a Mountain... so your not a King... which makes you nobody really!" How dare he!

"He's a great King! And definitely a better King than you!" I yelled at the Goblin King who turned to me anger flaring in his eyes. I saw Thorin turn and look at me wide eyed at my outburst.

"What?!" Shouted the Goblin King who looked outraged at my comment. "How dare you insult me!"

"Well I did! So, deal with it!" I replied glaring at him. "If you don't like hearing the truth then don't listen!"

"I'll teach you not to insult your superiors!" He said before he nodded at the two Goblins that were stood either side of me. One Goblin gruffly pulled me up off of the floor and held me still against the wooden post that I was tied to whilst the other one punched me straight in my stomach before slapping me across the face making me wince at the pain.

"ENOUGH! You will not hurt my kin!" Yelled Thorin. The Goblin King nodded at the Goblins again which made the Goblin that was holding me up drop me to the floor.

"I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head... just the head of course, nothing attached." Said the Goblin King grinning evilly at Thorin. "Perhaps you know of whom I speak, an old enemy of yours... a pale orc astride a white warg!" The pale orc?! But he's supposed to be dead! ...Isn't he?!

"Azog the Defiler was destroyed! He was slain in battle long ago!" Argued Thorin. The others watched Thorin closely as he argued with the Goblin King.

"So you think his defiling days are done, do you?" Said the Goblin King laughing. "Send word to the pale orc. Tell him I have found his prize!" Ordered the Goblin King to a much smaller Goblin who immediately scurried off to do as he was told.

The Goblin King then sat himself back down on his throne and looked at Thorin with a wicked smile on his face. I looked towards the dwarfs and saw that both Kili and Fili were looking at me with a worried expression on their faces. I forced a smile in their direction before my attention was captured by a small Goblin who had picked up Thorin's sword before he dropped it to the floor shrieking before he scrambled backwards.

"I know that sword! It is the Goblin Cleaver! The Biter! The blade that sliced a thousand necks!" Yelled the Goblin King before he pointed at the dwarfs and shouted, "Kill them! Kill them all!"

Commotion immediately broke out as the Goblins began to jump on the dwarfs and whip them with leather ropes! I watched as Fili and Kili punched the Goblins back but were tackled to the ground. My gaze was forced away from Kili and Fili when a Goblin came running at me. I kicked the dagger out of his hand before kicking him backwards. It's seriously hard to fight when your tied up! I kicked another Goblin back that came charging towards me before I began to try and free myself which was all in vain.

"Cut off their heads!" Ordered the Goblin King.

Suddenly, a bright blue light shot throughout the Goblin Town. It muted all the sounds and knocked everyone to the floor, unable to move under the strength of the magic blast. I winced as I was thrown further back against the wooden post before I blinked rapidly from the bright light before my vision managed to focus on the scene in front of me. A man wearing a pointed wizards hat and holding a magic staff in one hand and his sword in the other walked forward from where the blast of light had came from. It was Gandalf!

"Take up arms! Fight!" Shouted Gandalf as the others dazedly stood up and scrambled towards their weapons. "Fight!"

"He wields the Foe Hammer! The Beater! Bright as daylight!" Shrieked the Goblin King as he pointed to Gandalf's sword.

I saw Kili run towards me slicing Goblins with his sword as he did. His face was contorted in concentration which to be honest looked incredibly hot! I mentally slapped myself to try and make me stop thinking these things.

"Are you okay?!" He asked as he cradled my face in his rough hands. God, he's gorgeous!

"I'm fine!" I said smiling at him. "Now, come on! Untie me quickly!"

He grinned at me before he pulled out his dagger and easily cut through the ropes that held me against the wooden post. I smiled at him before he handed me my dagger, sword and my bow and quiver. I strapped my bow and quiver on to my back and put my dagger into its sheath but kept my sword out. I thanked him before we both charged into the midst of the fighting together. I stabbed the first Goblin in the back before I clashed swords with another Goblin and easily sliced his stomach. I turned around and deflected a Goblin's sword before I sliced his head off.

"Follow me! Quick!" Shouted Gandalf.

I quickly ran towards Gandalf with Nori beside me and followed him as he ran down a long platform whilst the other dwarfs were behind us. We ran down a long platform that was being held up by ropes as hundreds of Goblins were chasing us. Dwalin who was in front lifted a long wooden beam and with the help of Nori, Fili and Bifur they used it to knock the groups of Goblins off of the platform that were running at us from in front. After they dropped the beam we just used our swords to kill the oncoming Goblins. One Goblin ducked under Dwalin's arm and charged towards me, I ducked his blow before I high kicked him off of the platform. We ran on to another platform and were faced with a group of Goblin archers.

"Look out!" Yelled Kili as he pulled me out of the way of an oncoming arrow.

"Thanks." I said.

"Get down!" Ordered Kili before he grabbed a wooden ladder and positioned it in front of him as a shield to protect himself from the arrows. I ducked down as Kili instructed along with the others. I heard the distinct sound of arrows penetrating something. I hope to God none of them have hit Kili. I looked up and sighed in relief when I saw that the arrows had only hit the ladder and not Kili. The Goblins with the bows were getting closer. I pulled out my bow and notched an arrow before firing it at the Goblins, hitting one of them square in the chest. I notched another arrow and fired which hit another Goblin straight between its eyes. Kili grinned at me as I shot the other two in their chests as well.

With the help of a few others, Kili picked up the ladder and used it to run some of the Goblins off of the path edge.

We continued to run along the paths battling and killing any goblin that we were faced with. Seeing that we were all on one section of path Fili and Nori cut the suspending ropes, allowing the bridge that we were stood on to sway and fall away, cutting off any Goblins that were chasing us. As the section of bridge swung towards the stable ground I and a few others leaped from the platform. We stood and watched in horror as the bridge swung back to where it had started, a group of Goblins eagerly taking the opportunity to board it. The other members of our company that were still on it managed to fight them off as the bridge swung back to where we were, it was finally cut free to fall into the abyss below by Fili as he was last to jump on to safe ground.

We cut down more Goblins as we continued on. Gandalf used his staff to strike the rock above our heads which caused a boulder to roll down the slope ahead of us, squashing any Goblin in its wake. That was brilliant!

A slight wave of relief flooded over me when we came to a long stretch of pathway that was entirely free from Goblins.

For a second I thought that we were safe until a loud cracking noise and an eruption of wooden planks announced the arrival of the Goblin King as he heaved his body up on to the path in front of us blocking our way, his eyes were alight with anger and his thin lips were pulled back in a snarl. Other Goblins surrounded us as well stopping us from going back the way we came.

"You thought you could escape me?!" He yelled as he swung at Gandalf with his wooden staff. "What are you going to do now wizard?!"

Gandalf swiped his sword towards the Goblin King slicing his stomach open.

"That'll do it." Said the Goblin King before Gandalf sliced his neck causing the Goblin King to collapse to the floor dead.

Due to the force that the Goblin King fell to the ground it caused the platform that the dwarfs and I were standing on to break away and fall into the darkness below. I yelled in fright and instinctively grabbed hold of the closest thing to me which happened to be Kili. He held on to me just as tight as we all fell further down. With a sickening crunch and a series of pained groans we all hit the Mountain floor.

I looked to my right and saw Gandalf pull himself out of the rubble before I turned to my left and came face to face with Kili. Kili was laid on top of me with our noses nearly touching.

"You okay?" He asked as he pushed himself up with his elbows to take some of his weight off of me.

"Yes, except that your cutting off my air supply." I replied as I playfully hit his chest as he grinned cheekily at me.

"Well that could've been worse!" Said Bofur as he poked his head out of the wreckage.

I suddenly cried out in pain as the Goblin King's dead body fell on top of all of the wreckage crushing us under the weight and causing Kili to be squashed further against me.

"You've got to be joking!" Growled Dwalin.

Kili looked at my pained face and using all his strength he pushed away a wooden beam that allowed him to climb off of me and out of the rubble before he hooked his hands under my arms and hoisted me out of the wreckage and on to my feet.

"Gandalf!" Yelled Kili as he pointed to the Mountain wall.

We all turned and looked to where he was pointing and saw a swarm of Goblins that were scaling the wall at an alarming speed and were heading straight towards us. We quickly hauled the others out from the rubble and on to their feet.

"There's too many! We can't fight them!" Shouted Dwalin as he helped a dazed looking Nori to his feet.

"Only one thing will save us! Daylight! Come on!" Shouted Gandalf as he pulled Oin to his feet with surprising ease. "On your feet, all of you. Run!" Using his lit staff he pointed towards a darkened passage in the rock.

I immediately followed the others down the rocky passageway, running as fast as my sore limbs would carry me until we finally made it to the end where we could see the sunshine flooding into the passage from the exit.

We ran straight out of the passage and into a thicket of trees and ran further from the Mountain until we reached a small clearing where we stopped to catch our breath. I lent against a tree beside Kili and tried to let my breathing to even out as the others did the same. I looked up at Kili who was smiling at me before he pulled me into a tight embrace. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his torso as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders. He broke the hug and held my hand in his rough one instead, entwining his finger with my own as he did.

"Six, seven, eight... Bifur, Bofur, that makes ten... Fili, Kili, Cassy, that's thirteen... and Bombur, that makes fourteen." Said Gandalf as he counted each of us. "Wait. Where's Bilbo? Where is our Hobbit!"

My head shot up and looked around for any sign of the Hobbit but I couldn't see him anywhere.

"I thought he was with Dori!" Said Dwalin.

"Don't blame me!" Snapped Dori.

"When did you last see him?!" Yelled Gandalf.

"I thought I saw him slip away when they first caught us?" Offered Nori.

"Tell me what happened!" Shouted Gandalf.

"I'll tell you what happened! Mister Baggins saw his chance and he took it! He's thought of nothing but his comfy bed and his warm hearth since he first left his home! We will not be seeing our Burglar again. He is long gone!" Said Thorin angrily.

"No he isn't." Said Bilbo as he emerged from behind a tree. My face broke out into a grin when I saw him.

"Bilbo Baggins! I've never been so glad to see anyone in all my life!" Said Gandalf.

"Bilbo! We'd given you up!" Said Kili.

"How on earth did you get past the Goblins?" Asked Fili.

"Well, what does it matter? He's back!" Said Gandalf.

"It matters! I want to know! Why did you come back?" Asked Thorin.

"Look, I know you doubt me and I know you always have. And your right, I often think about the Shire. I miss my books and my armchair and my garden. You see that's where I belong. That's home. And that's why I came back because... you don't have a home. It was taken from you. But I will help you take it back if I can." Said Bilbo which earned him a smile from each of us and even a humble look from Thorin.

Suddenly a loud howling noise echoed from behind us. It was a warg howl!

"Out of the frying pan..." Said Thorin.

"...and into the fire!" Said Gandalf. "Run!"

Kili, who was still holding my hand pulled me away from the tree and we began to run with the others. I could hear the wargs getting closer but we kept on running further through the thicket of trees. I skidded to a halt as a warg jumped straight over my head. I pulled out my sword but before I could kill it Bofur hit the warg in its head with his axe. I smiled at him before I ran over to Fili and Kili.

"Up into the trees! All of you! Up!" Yelled Gandalf.

Kili pulled himself up into a tree with ease before helping Fili up. I grabbed their offered hands and allowed them to pull me up on to a branch as well before we started to climb further up into the tree. The wargs were getting closer and I looked down and realised that Bilbo was still on the ground.

"Bilbo!" I yelled which caused all the others watch as Bilbo ran towards the trees.

I jumped down on to a lower branch and hung upside down on the branch using my legs to hold on as I offered my hands to Bilbo who jumped and gripped my hands before I pulled him up on to the branch with me. I quickly helped him get further up into the tree where Fili and Kili were. We all looked towards the ground where wargs were circling the trees and occasionally jumping to try to reach us.

We all looked towards an orc as he strode up towards the other orcs riding a white warg. The orcs skin was deathly pale and was covered in scars, his eyes were blood red and his left arm had been cut off and a hook was in its place.

"Azog!" Said Thorin as he gazed wide eyed at his enemy.
