I notice now,

She is surrounded by them,

The humans,

But males are the only I detest.

It was surprising for the elites, his siblings, Adonael and every other angel who knew Alexander when they saw his dedication towards the job.

He kept eyes on girl day and night. Even when he was not close, he was alert to her feelings, moods and surrounding.

He had even gone as far as making a list of things that was harmful for her and after all the survey the biggest danger around her were boys. He thought he detested humans, well he still did, but now it was in classes.

~Okay~ Freya Morenson, Brenna and Morenson family.

~Less hateful~ All the other people.

~Most hateful~ Males around Freya Morenson.

Alicia was surprised at her brother after seeing this change. He has never been responsible.

"So, what changed?" She asked

"This is a tricky job sister, guardian angel could feel some kind of panic and pain when their humans are hurt. So to avoid that much pain I decided to look after her." He said not sounding quite sure at his own words.

Alicia eyes widened for a while and then she laughed.

He raised an eye brow.

"There is no such thing Alexander. Guardian angels are just given the duty to take care, even if they don't nothing happens to them well except when human is hurt on their watch by some non-natural occurrence. Then they are punished by Elites. There is a guardian-human bond but that is to know where the human is even from a distance." Alicia explained.

This shocked Alexander because he did feel the pain when she cried sometimes thinking about her father, or when she got hurt or when she is worried sick about a Chemistry exam. Why was that, was he powerful even in guardian form, have special emotions?

Suddenly his sensed discomfort around Freya and became alert.

"What is it?" Alicia asked alarmed at her frowning brother.

"Freya is not well." He said getting up in panic.

"What do you sense?" She asked also slightly worried.

She didn't want her brother to screw up so early in his job.

He hurried and reached the spot where Freya was shedding some tears on reading a book in school library. He immediately calmed down and felt his body loosen up.

Alicia laughed.

"What?" He said in a defensive tone.

"That girl has got you all riled up brother." She was amused at this.

"She is my duty Alicia." He answered in a stern tone.

"And when did that bother you?" She asked with a smile playing at her lips.

He grumbled something not having an answer to his sister's stupid question.

"Leave please." He said in a low tone.

"Shoving me away will not answer the confusion in your head." She said grinning but leaving nevertheless.

No one wanted to infuriate Alexander for too long.

He sighed as his sister left and made his way towards the girl now a smile playing on her lips as she wiped off remnants of previous tears. He had to smile at her extreme reactions, something about the book made her cry,maybe a characters death or something.

He sat on the chair next to her, invisible to her.

He looked at her flipping through the book, her slender fingers repeatedly trying to put back the stray lock behind her ear. His fingers itched to do that ... but he stopped that absurd thought process.

Damn where did that thought creep from?

His eyes glued to her and followed her breathing pattern, not realising he was breathing with her in synchronisation. He had a bad feeling about all this...his constant worry for the girl, he memorizing every contour of her face... he had been guarding her for almost two years now.

Maybe this is what attachment meant. Being around the girl so much he had grown attached to her.

Suddenly a boy walked up to her and occupied the chair in front of her.

"Hey Freya." He said and she looked up startled.

"Evan, hey,what's up?" She asked casually smiling at him which annoyed Xander for some reason.

"After game this weekend there is a party, would you like to go with me?" he asked confidently.

Her eyes widened in surprise but recovering quickly, she asked, "Why?"

And then thought for a second how weird it might sound.

But Evan just chuckled at her expression. He was the school's golden boy, every girl either worshipped or loved.

"Because I want to take you to this party." He answered simply.

Xander's mind was riding a roller coaster not sure why it was doing that. He had the sudden urge to punch through something, Evan's face maybe.

"I am not a party person." She said gently, an obvious attempt to say no.

Alexander was happy that. So many human emotions , you are in trouble Alexander.

A mere human should not affect him that much but the girl was weird...bad weird for him! Just because a boy was talking to her, he wanted to kill him; not very angelic or guardian type behaviour.

Why the hell was he thinking that? What was that behaviour?

"I know you are not a party person Freya, but I promise you will enjoy just say yes." He said still smiling at her gently.

He was not a bad guy, he liked her genuinely. That was a good thing, another guardian must have ticked him in the list of no danger and good love interest but Alexander had other ideas in mind. He didn't like the idea of any male around...again an emotion he can't explain.

"Okay, but I will annoy you like hell if I hate the party!" She answered a light blush on her cheek.

Suddenly a shelf nearby fell down scattering all the books and creating a loud thud.

Everyone was shocked and Freya immediately jumped out of her seat.

Alexander shook his head and sighed. It was his fault, his crappy mood just affected the surrounding.

This boy was annoying the hell out of him and he had to be really tolerant not to destroy him.

"Are you fine babe?" He asked keeping one hand on her shoulder.

She nodded but a frown formed on her face on the word 'babe'. She hated such endearments.

Leave!

A strong command shot from Alexander's mind annoyed to the extreme point.

Evan felt a sudden jerk and giving a stiff smile he turned to Freya.

"I will go now. Will pick you up at seven this weekend." He said leaving immediately.

She nodded with a smile still surprised at scoring a date with Evan!

What the hell is wrong with me? I just compelled a human, an angel should never do that! I did it as a guardian...just a duty.

But what was the danger here?

He groaned in annoyance. He just did something really stupid. He was taking his job too seriously.. rules clearly said not to interfere in your humans life.

I never follow rules.

But now he was growing unhealthy connection to the girl. As a guardian he was suppose to just protect her and not detest every male in her vicinity. It turned out guarding her was not boring after all, it was nerve wrecking!

He had to create some distance from her...
