The Apple Game
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon
------------
May hungrily made her way through the lunch line, grabbing almost one of everything. The register lady didn't even comment on the amount of food piled on her plate. She was used to it by now.
"Honestly, October. I'm amazed you aren't over 150 by now, seeing as you eat so much."
May spun around only to be face-to-face with none other than one of the school's most popular boys, Drew Hayden.
She was going to make a comment on his own tray, but it only held a medium sized salad and a bright red apple.
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU- hey, wait. Where did you get that apple? I didn't even see them!" She raged.
He rolled his eyes. "You not seeing food? That's a first." He shrugged. "You can have it if you want. I don't even like red apples. The lunch ladies made me get a fruit."
Before she could react, he placed it on her tray and walked away, face nearly as red as the apple he had given her.
May, however, didn't see as she was staring at the apple debating if it was poisoned or not.
---------------------
May sat with her friends Dawn, Misty, and Leaf.
Leafs face was buried in the table while Dawn squealed and Misty smirked. "I tell you, it is meant to beeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!"
"Um... What am I missing?" May asked cautiously.
"Have you heard of the apple game?"
May shook her head.
"You grab the stem and twist the apple while singing your abc's, and whatever letter it falls off on is the first letter of your future husband's name!" Dawn squealed.
May rolled her eyes. "You know those things aren't true, Dawn," she reasoned.
She shrugged. "Worked for Leaf. It fell off on a 'G'. You should do it!"
May laughed. "Fine." She set her tray down and picked up the apple Drew gave her.
"A... B... C... D." It fell off on D.
Her friends gave each other smug looks.
"N-N-No!!!" She protested.
"🎶Future husband🎶," Dawn sang.
"No! He's an arrogant jerk!!!!! I hate him!!!!!" She protested.
Dawn grinned. "We never specified Drew."
May blushed. "You know it's chance. It doesn't mean anything."
The others rolled their eyes. "Denial..."
---------------------
"You ran into May an your way here, didn't you?" Gary asked before his friend even had a chance to sit down.
"Er... Yes? How could you tell?"
Ash paused a moment to look up from his food, a major shocker. "Dude, your face is completely flushed."
Paul sighed. "I've had enough. Just tell the stupid girl how you feel," he groaned.
"And have my confession thrown back in my face?"
His friends looked at each other before smacking their faces into the table.
