We've talked about the channel's antagonists before, and even went out of our way to defend them; let's face it, not everyone loves/hates the same characters as you do - some people love Ein for adding a twist to the series, and then some absolutely hate him, as well as want him to burn in the fiery pits of hell.

In our discussion about them, I also listed down a character that really wasn't supposed to be there, but was just really hated by the fandom - they're one of the protagonists, which makes it surprising to see 'im have such a large amount of haters.

Aaron.

Today, I'll be talking about why a portion of the fandom dislikes Aaron's personality, appearance, and just him in general.

Oh, and if you're wondering, I'm not an Aaron-hater myself. I just like shipping him with inanimate object - but! I do know someone who hates him with a passion.

❖ Minecraft Diaries (S1 and S2)

People dislike Aaron in MCD for... multiple reasons. And, I guess, we'll talk about the most common ones.

First of all, Aaron just kind of popped out of nowhere. He was literally named "the stranger" before his name (and face) was revealed a few episodes over. And, how does she meet Aphmau?

By threatening her with his sword, of course.

It's definitely not how most relationships start, so I guess I can say that their "love story" started in a very... em... different way? I guess it is, but it's kind of not - it's also slightly cliche.

Speaking of cliche, Aaron's initial impression was also a very overused cliche; the dark, ominous, and mysterious male that eventually falls for the protagonist.

And by "falling," the fandom means "talking to someone for months before banging them."

Another reason a lot of people dislike him (and Aarmau in general) is because of how quick their love is developed. They interacted a bit, but Aaron wasn't as fleshed out - they talked, but there really wasn't too many sparks.

And then what? They did "it" in the forest, that's what.

Aphmau turns out to be pregnant, and oh-ho-ho! Aaron's the dad.

Fans were obviously overwhelmed and were also very mad about this, but then the fandom mellowed down after accepting that Jess will probably never change her OTP. It never really will.

The most shallow reason I can find for someone to hate Aaron, is just plainly because he's in the Aarmau ship, which interferes with the Garmau/Laurmau ship.

❖ MyStreet (Phoenix Drop High, Starlight, Emerald Secret, etc.)

There aren't really many reasons to hate Aaron in MS alone, because most of these reasons are also present in MCD.

For example, Aaron looks like a genderbent Aphmau; they look like siblings. Adding onto his appearance, he also shows off his six-pack... a lot - this makes him seem like a show-off that would make other people feel bad, seeing as not everyone has such a well-chiseled body.

Other than that, the only other reason to hate him is because he seems like the bad boy from a teen fiction story on Wattpad; mysterious and rebellious, but secretly loving and also caring - he also has a dark past which he wishes not to speak of.
