Hello and welcome to The Aphmau Book Club, 2018 Edition!

Before joining the book club, make sure that you're able to abide the rules that we set; you don't particularly have to agree with them, you just have to follow them.

These rules apply to the Discord server as well, so make sure to observe these at all times.

Breaking one of the rules will get you a strike. Five strikes, and you're kicked. Re-applying to become a member will grant you another chance, but after your last five strikes, you are permanently removed.

[ RULES ]

ONE; no violence.

Of course, you are entitled to your own opinions, and there's nothing we can do to change that, but if someone doesn't agree with you, there's no need to threaten them.

With nearly a hundred members, it's inevitable that people will disagree, especially with the increasing number of rabid shippers.

TWO; respect everyone.

Although the staff have higher positions, it is important to show respect to everyone.

The reason this book club exists is to connect people, and you can't exactly make a lot of friends through treating them like garbage.

THREE; no drama.

Drama can make things extremely complicated, so it would be much better if you didn't bring everyone into it - confront the people involved, and not the entire community.

Yes, sometimes the staff can get a bit salty due to plagiarism (which has happened numerous times, mind you), but we make sure to not call anyone out; calling someone out can be a means of starting drama.

FOUR; no swearing.

I hear you saying, "But what about freedom of speech?! You're taking away a human right!"

Let me just remind you that this book club started out with Aphmau, whose main demographic is kids and preteens.

And even if the minimum age for Wattpad is 13, we can't help the fact that some users are only nine or ten, and they're already on Wattpad.

To prevent the further corruption of their minds, there will be no swearing in the comments and in the server. The only place you are allowed to swear is the ranting and venting channel.

Words such as heck, crap, and hell are not considered to be swear words, as we do not mind them. What we do mind are words that namely start with f, s, and sometimes n.

FIVE; nothing 18+.

I highly doubt that the majority of our members are above the age of eighteen, or even have the maturity of one.

Any images of anything mature/18+ such as sexual activities, suicide, etc. will get you a strike. Though, small references are allowed (such as jokes, etc.)

SIX; communicate.

Communication is extremely important for the book club; in fact, it's one of the most important factors for the success of the book club.

It is rather important to check up on the book club's weekly updates, discussions, and most importantly, the pairings; failure to do your weekly-activity will result in a strike.

[ PUNISHMENTS ]

As mentioned before, breaking any of the rules above will result in a STRIKE.

Every member has FIVE STRIKES to spare. Once a member has reached five strikes, the member will be given two options; to LEAVE, or to RE-APPLY.

RE-APPLYING will grant the member another FIVE STRIKES. After these five strikes, the member will no longer be considered part of the book club.
